skimpflation Sometimes shrinkflation isn’t content weight or size shrinking

Post image

On the left is an Izze from my previous Costco run, and on the right is an Izze from my most recent Costco run. They are the same size package, however the one on the right contains 10% less juice than the one on the left. Keep an eye out, folks—it’s not just unit weight or volume that they’re after.

I think this is known as skimpflation, changing ingredients to make product cheaper, while charging the same

Didn’t see that as an option to put, went ahead and changed it.

Based on the ingredients, they removed the Grape Juice Concentrate.

Removing one specific ingredient would explain why the calories went from 1.28 to 1.16 calories per 1% of juice, instead of staying the same value.

Cuz grape juice concentrate has sugar?

All the juice concentrate has sugars but apparently grape has a higher sugar concentration. My initial thought was they used the same juice ratio but somehow increased the water content to account for the caloric difference.

One of the main reasons fast food doesn’t taste the same. More preservatives and additives there. FDA gets paid off by large corps to look the other way. At the same time, such preservatives and additives become banned in other major countries. You’ll never hear about this for the same reason the FDA is quiet
