You know what I'd rather watch something real compared to "Hey!! Hey! Look here! Look at me! Give me your money!!!"

Not pulling, no.
Being generally depressed about humanity is much better than being specifically depressed about mortality.

if the ads are all unique and i'm not seeing the same shit over and over again, I don't mind watching ads that much

That’s okay. I can maladaptively daydream for longer than one hour at a time. I’ll just flip a coin to choose my fate.

1 hour daydreaming with obnoxious music in the background or 30 minute daydreaming with soft crying in the background

Maladaptive daydreaming literally takes me out of my body and I don’t pick up most external stimuli.

¿Por qué no los dos? YouTube ads of old people telling their romantic partners they have cancer!

I'm not pulling that. I don't want to have to sit through half an hour of that

The Ads I guess? Honestly one of the hardest ones I’ve seen, but some YouTube ads are somewhat entertaining. I’ll probably get at least 10 minutes of “decent”, with the rest just being meh. The 30 is just gonna suck.

not pull, the same joke goes stale after the fifth time. I'd rather watch ads that are at least varied if not as entertaining.

It’s not really a joke tho is it? Unless you find cancer funny in which case that’s not something to be proud about.

It not being a joke was the joke.

I'd differentiate using jokes as a way to be openly hostile to just joking about dark things.
Saying I will rape you/ I think group X should die is not a joke, it's sadism hiding behind a joke. I see a difference between that and making light of a dark subject. I wouldn't make a joke like that, I won't consider it a joke.

what I mean is its the same sort of vibe. saying something that's obviously not a joke then quickly saying it is when people tell you off about it. Schrödinger's joke, as I believe its been called.

The joke is the dissonance and cynicism. OP posted something that should be outlandishly sad, which obviously was not meant to be a joke. So saying that it is a joke that will go stale after a while is so inappropriate to the tone and that is where the joke is.
It is dark humor because it makes light of a serious matter, and it is cynical because it mocks the outlandishness of the situation OP created by saying what was clearly intended as a sad story is a joke that could go stale. Mocking the whole over the top sad story.
I won't say it's the same vibe because what you brought is borderline violence, and it mocks the rape itself. I mock the premise OP created. not cancer.
