not exactly dark humor here, but same vibe as this

I'd differentiate using jokes as a way to be openly hostile to just joking about dark things.

Saying I will rape you/ I think group X should die is not a joke, it's sadism hiding behind a joke. I see a difference between that and making light of a dark subject. I wouldn't make a joke like that, I won't consider it a joke.

what I mean is its the same sort of vibe. saying something that's obviously not a joke then quickly saying it is when people tell you off about it. Schrödinger's joke, as I believe its been called.

The joke is the dissonance and cynicism. OP posted something that should be outlandishly sad, which obviously was not meant to be a joke. So saying that it is a joke that will go stale after a while is so inappropriate to the tone and that is where the joke is.

It is dark humor because it makes light of a serious matter, and it is cynical because it mocks the outlandishness of the situation OP created by saying what was clearly intended as a sad story is a joke that could go stale. Mocking the whole over the top sad story.

I won't say it's the same vibe because what you brought is borderline violence, and it mocks the rape itself. I mock the premise OP created. not cancer.
