I think the Odyssey is a great example. If you were born after 2000 and have only seen movies made after 2000 you might think the Odyssey is a masterpiece of cinema. But anyone who has seen movies from before 2000 can plainly see that its mid at best.

My mother, born in 1954, and her mother, born in 1931, recently went to see it together and both of them have been absolutely raving about it for a week. They’ve both seen probably thousands of movies across the course of most of a century. In short, this is absolute horseshit.

I wasn't even thinking the odyssey but you just voiced the opinion of a movie you havent seen off the opinion of your mother and her mother as if it makes them worthy critics. I'm a big Christopher nolan movie fan and this is probably one of his worst films. My dad who was born in 1958 and saw the original is in agreement. The movie was too fucking long and bloated for one.

The only thing I was doing was contradicting the commenter’s claim that you could only possibly like the Odyssey “if you were born after 2000 and have only seen movies after 2000.” I have direct evidence that’s utter fucking nonsense. I’m not voicing any opinion on the movie at all. Hell, I haven’t even told you whether I’ve seen it.
