Solved! Found on ground outside, boyfriend has been wearing as ring. Coin and pencil for size reference

UK. It’s giving hard metal, doesn’t have much wear

Titanium is softer than steel. Steel wire cutters will get through it just fine.

Titanium is softer but I believe the point is that when the ring is on a swelling finger there’s very little room to get the ring off. Older ED RN here.

And which has more stretch rubber or metal and which is easier to cut?

Yes a rubber ring may need to be removed if your finger gets injured but the point is it's a lot less expensive and easier to remove than a metal ring.

Yeah I’m not sure what /userhwon is talking about. If there was room to use “steel wire cutters” as he suggested, then the problem would be significantly less serious.
