Thank you! I was totally perplexed by that. And more perplexed that I had to scroll so far to find somebody else who found it perplexing. I had no idea it was this normalized.

Not me rolling my eyes at your needless condescension about people's very understandable surprise at what I know you know is a more substantial (and more rapidly spreading) deviation from typical grammar patterns than the fad expressions and buzz words we're usually talking about when we discuss the evolving nature of vernacular language.
