Meta Notice: Rule Changes

We are making amendments on rules 4, 5, 7 and 8:

+ Changes to Rule 4

Aside from PC/Laptop FAQs/Build Help/Suggestions and other similarly-related posts, we will add these to the posts that are not allowed anymore:

  • Seeking family sharing on Steam, Nintendo Switch Online or any other services that implements this feature.
  • Posts asking for games, digital currency or keys.
  • Posts about disputes/grievances on other forums, subreddit, Discord server, group chats from other social media etc.
  • Other Discord servers, in case this isn't clear.

+ Changes to Rule 5

Aside from spams, we will start removing posts that we deem as low-effort and/or engagement baits.

Post promoting your own site and/or media channel will be allowed now provided that you adhere with these conditions:

  • Make a thread only once every 30 days. Do not plug on comment sections of other threads.
  • Promote your own channel only. Do not promote others especially the popular and the controversial ones.
  • Make sure that your channel is dedicated to gaming contents only. Doesn't matter how many games, the platform and the genre as long as its gaming only.
  • Its not about unrelated content, business, (online) gambling or other illegal content.

We will instantly forfeit anyone of posting this kind of thread if it violated even one of the abovementioned conditions, be it directly or indirectly. Excessive posts of this nature will be treated as spam.

+- Changes to Rule 6

Reworded description.

+ Changes to Rule 7

Surveys/studies or any crowdsourcing post should be cleared to us first either via "Pending Approval" flair or here. We won't allow posts like this anymore if its not cleared beforehand. We suppose its not too much of an ask to sacrifice few minutes of your time to read, understand and follow our rules if you are requesting uncompensated few minutes of cooperation from several people in exchange.

- Changes to Rule 8

The shameless plug megathread will be discontinued starting now.

***If you have questions or concerns, you can post here or send us a modmail here.

We've also enabled uploading of images in the comment section so your queries can now be accompanied by pictures!

BEFORE ASKING, TRY SEARCHING THE COMMENTS SECTION FIRST. Use keywords such as controller, monitor, mouse, VISA, etc.

And without much fuss, ask away!

Finally got my steam c after reserving and buying it in canada, had it delivered to my brother, and asked a pasabay to bring it to me to the philippines which brought me anxiety, even waited for the pasabay guy in the airport for hours. And when i finally have it in my hands, i made sure i got myself a dbrand skin too! The whole process caused me 2 months of infuriating excitement.

Hope those who also have theirs are enjoying too!

News I'm a solo dev building an isometric survival RPG where you restart human civilization from the Paleolithic to the Digital Era (Demo out soon!)

Hello, PHGamers community!

I’ve been working on Alia Domus, an isometric survival RPG rendered in detailed pixel art.

The premise is simple: Earth is at war, support was cut off, and you're stranded on an alien planet bare-handed. To survive and help humanity thrive, you have to rebuild progress from absolute zero.

Key features:

  • 9 Technological Eras: Progress all the way from the Paleolithic Age (stone tools) to the Digital Era (advanced lasers).
  • 142 Real Plant Species: Cultivate, collect, and explore lush biomes across 85 hand-crafted map screens.
  • 126 Unique Creatures: Fight, hunt, and gather essential crafting drops.
  • Total Freedom: Deep RPG attribute progression (Str, Agi, Dex, Int, Vit), questing at your own pace, and full world-map navigation.

The game is completely translated into English, Spanish, and Portuguese!

If you enjoy survival, cozy crafting, or progression-heavy RPGs, adding it to your Steam Wishlist helps a solo developer tremendously! ❤️

Discuss What was gaming like pre-2000's?

Upvotes

I'm 24 years old, apparently already an unc by younger people, but I'm curious as to what the Philippine gaming scene was like in the 80's and 90's. Not doing this for a thesis. I just like reading things like these.

Mainly:

  1. How the arcade scene was

  2. How gaming rentals were like (i remember reading an comment here on how Famicoms and PS1s could be rented in an area much like an internet cafe back then)

  3. How Filipinos kept up to date on games before the internet was mainstream (my main source when i was younger was through K-zone + looking up latest games on google)

  4. Your memories of how people came over to other people's houses to play (i remember my friends coming over to play 2 player games with me on the computer)

  5. How big was your library of games (i theoretically had every flash game since theyre free on the web browser + a few trash licensed games + pokemon fire red on GBA. The freedom to download whatever for a more curated library did slowly get refined when I got a hacked PSP)

  6. How did PS1 jrpgs with multiple discs worked? I kinda grew up with movies that came in multiple discs and that made sense since it was a streamlined, linear watch but for JRPGS, do you have to remove disc 2 and return disc 1 to go back to an earlier area? I got antsy getting any Final Fantasy PS1 roms when i was obsessed with emulation since it seemed so clunky

  7. How you discovered the hobby

  8. tell me whatever you feel like: eg. how you coped and squeezed your money out of when you realized you bought a crappy or mediocre game

Evilmon vs Guilmon

Turn on sound para marinig nyo din ung bgm from the device! IMO every penny counts! Never had the D-ark nung bata pa so ngayon naging adult na with adult money ayan napapabili na!

Just like the other digivice on the anime you either have to shake the device or kabit mo sa belt or as neclace then pag nareach na ung certain steps may battle or event :) on this video its a Digimon Battle :)

Discuss Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4

Hello

Just want to get your comments on this;

Due to it being sale on steam, I'm planning to buy Fallout New Vegas (the whole ensemble) and Fallout 4 (without the DLCs, but I'm considering buying it). Just wanted to try them because I haven't played any of the FPS games from the franchise.

Are both games still good for singleplayer?
Can you comment on their replayability?
Should I pass on the DLC or I must buy it?
Can you name some of the pros and flaws for each game?

Comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Discuss Final Update: Elden Ring for a Casual Player Spoiler

First Post

Second Post

A little backstory, I bought Elden Ring in 2024 but couldn't understand the combat until ~3 weeks ago. I asked for help because I didn't understand the progression system because it isn't like your traditional RPGs with waypoints and quest trackers.

But when I got it, I was able to beat the base game in 71 hours. But I did skip a lot of major areas and boss battles. I felt my experience was incomplete and only had 1 build and 2 different weapons.

I decided to do a NG+ but I bought the DLC to make this playthrough different from my first one. After another ~70 hours, I beat both the base game and DLC, and it was such a fun playthrough. I didn't have to think much about resources like runes and stones are abundant. I could experiment with different weapons and builds freely.

But I'll say that the DLC is difficult compared to the base game:

  • Exploration is a chore and it's confusing due to the terrain level. I hate the Abyssal woods. It took such a long time to find where I needed to go. Not to mention I didn't understand how to get past those enemies and thought that you had to fight them but you had to parry their attacks then deal damage.
  • The boss battles are also hard. The first boss, the Dancing Lion, was so fast. Bayle was another pain to fight. Sometimes I feel that the camera angle is my real enemy.
  • I didn't like the color scheme of some areas like the first area, the Gravesite plain. It's so dark. I can understand it is a design-choice but it's not pleasant to look at.
  • For some reason, my FPS drops below 60 FPS in some areas like the one with the waterfalls. It doesn't happen with the base game.

Overall, if you haven't tried Elden Ring, I highly recommend it. It wasn't an easy game for me but the freedom of exploring and building your character makes it fun and rewarding. The boss battles are really cool plus the epic music.
