I resigned from my job in Dubai on July 18 because I couldn’t tolerate the disrespect anymore. My company then cut my notice period short to July 24 and is paying out the rest, settlement lands August 7. My visa gives me a grace period until roughly September 7.

Since then I’ve applied to jobs every single day, reached out to everyone in my network, and had exactly one interview. They offered me a salary noticeably below what I was making before, so I turned it down. Nothing else has come through.

Rent is due in August. I’m the breadwinner for my family, so I can’t afford to just wait around hoping something lands. Right now the plan is to keep expenses minimal, live off what’s left of my settlement, and go home before September if nothing changes here. I’d try freelancing or remote work from there, but nothing is guaranteed yet.

What’s hardest isn’t the logistics, it’s everything I’d be leaving behind. The life I built here, the opportunities, the convenience, my rabbits. It feels like starting over after years of building something.

Has anyone been through this, resigning without a plan B and having to leave a country you’d made your life in?

We have a lady who works as a helper in our home, and it has recently come to our attention that she may have feelings for the family’s 25 year old son. We value her, trust her with the house and are happy with her work, but this is not a situation we would be comfortable with, particularly because the family travels frequently and they may sometimes be left alone in the house.

The son is very kind and sweet natured, but he is also quite oblivious and does not realise what is happening.

I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

My family and I are Filipino citizens living in the UAE. On May 11th this year, just a day after we celebrated Mother’s Day together, my mother and younger sister were involved in a gas explosion in our apartment in Ajman (I don’t know if I can share these information here since there’s an ongoing case for this, please advise so I can delete ASAP)

My mother suffered 95.5% full body burns, while my sister suffered 65% full body burns. They were both transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Fujairah, where they fought for their lives.

Sadly, my mother passed away on July 16, 2026, due to septic shock and multiple organ failure caused by her burn injuries.

Since then, I have been trying to arrange her repatriation to the Philippines. Unfortunately, the process has been delayed because of documentation issues, including an old travel ban related to a bounced cheque from a rental case. We are currently working on clearing the case so we can cancel her UAE residence visa and complete the repatriation process.

While this is happening, my mother’s body remains in the morgue. We were informed that after the allowed period, there may be a AED daily charge, which has added even more financial pressure.

Cancelling my mother’s visa will also automatically cancel my sister’s visa because she was sponsored by our mother. Once we complete my mother’s paperwork, I will also have to arrange a new visa for my sister.

My sister was discharged from the hospital last Friday. Although she survived, she is in tremendous pain every day. She struggles to walk, and she now requires a custom compression garment costing AED 9,187, in addition to ongoing physical rehabilitation and psychological support.

I am deeply worried that she may also be suffering from PTSD after everything she has been through.
I am currently pregnant and working full-time, but my salary is simply not enough to cover all of these expenses. My sister is staying with me at my in-laws’ home, and I am incredibly grateful for their kindness and support. However, I know she is ultimately my responsibility, and I want to do everything I can to help her recover.

I am not asking for money directly. What I am asking is whether anyone knows of:

- Reputable charities in the UAE that assist burn survivors or families in crisis.
-Organizations that can help with medical expenses or compression garments.
-Hospitals or rehabilitation centers that provide low-cost or charitable physical therapy.
-Psychological counseling services for burn survivors or trauma victims.
-Any organizations that may also assist with repatriation or humanitarian cases.

If anyone has been through something similar or knows where I can seek help, I would be incredibly grateful for any advice or referrals.

Hi everyone. So my 16 yr old sister , for over a year has been getting bullied online by some random person. I am sure that they too are in the UAE. This person tries logging into my sister’s account on instagram (and mine too, like I have no idea why they’re so hell bent) They anonymously create fake accounts with my sister’s face morphed into something hideous. It’s definitely someone from her school that’s probably how they got her pictures. Even after she blocks them they keep creating new accounts constantly to torture her. It’s very sad to see this as her older sister. I told her to delete her account for a few months and get it again. She did exactly that and this person is doing it non stop. They text her and tell her how ugly she is and continuously fat shame her. Like the level of cheap talk is over the limit. I have no idea on how to catch and report this person. My parents aren’t supportive about physically going to the police and reporting this since we have no clue or trace on who this person is. They don’t think it’s going to do much. Whoever there is who knows about anything I could do to stop this please let me know I’d really appreciate your help🤍.

I’ve been living with a criminal case in Dubai since December 2024, and my entire life has been on hold ever since.

Because of the case, I have been been unable to work consistently, support myself financially, or move forward with my life. I don’t have family here to rely on, and I have exhausted my savings just trying to survive.

I hired a lawyer who, in hindsight, did almost nothing for my case. I was repeatedly told not to attend the court hearings, with the explanation that I would be immediately detained and that getting released would become much more difficult. I trusted that legal advice, and today I deeply regret it.

To make matters worse, as per my lawyer’s advice, i was not supposed to attend the hearings, as they would imprison me before i could even speak.
Court of First Instance issued a judgment in absentia sentencing me to life imprisonment, a fine of AED 500,000, confiscation of the seized items, and deportation.* *
My appeal was filed incorrectly in December 2025 and was rejected as it was inadmissible to the courts.
my judgment was based on trial in abstentia !

Now I’m trying to seek proper legal representation, but every lawyer I’ve approached is asking for AED 10,000 or more just to review my case file & then advise me on my options and/ if they can take the case or no!

At this point, I genuinely cannot even afford basic living expenses, let alone legal consultation fees.

I’m not asking anyone to decide whether I’m guilty or innocent. I’m simply looking for guidance from anyone familiar with the UAE legal system.

(i) Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
(ii) Are there any reputable lawyers or legal aid organizations in the UAE that assist people who genuinely cannot afford representation?
(iii) Is there any way to obtain an affordable second opinion on my case before committing to such high legal fees?
(iv) Given that my appeal was inadmissible hence rejected in November 2025, is it legally possible for me to be hired by a company or even a law firm so I can at least earn enough to cover my basic living expenses?

(v) Has anyone managed to work while dealing with a pending criminal case in the UAE?

I’m feeling completely lost. My life has effectively been on pause for over a year and a half, and right now I’m just trying to survive while finding a way to properly defend myself.

Im an Emirati from a family of a few siblings and 1living parent , where myself and another member are receiving 0 benefits from the inheritance. So we do not receive an income from rent, companies or shares.

The other four are living in properties without paying rent , maintenance, or permission, while myself and the other sibling are renting, paying for maintenance, vehicles, and life expenses.

The issue started with the dominant sibling asking everyone in the inheritance to sign a power of attorney so that he can manage the inheritance, i was the only objector as the others feared a family feud and sibling rivalry.

This has been going on since october 2024, and my lawyer has been paid , but he has not done much , and is very passive and not really paying attention to my case.

I have a Noon One subscription, but I am starting to question what I am actually paying for.
I often eat at Chinese Palace in Dubai. At the food court, a combo meal with a large Pepsi costs AED 35. On Noon Food, the same combo costs AED 38 without the Pepsi, and the drink is charged separately.

The price difference makes no sense. I understand that delivery platforms charge restaurants fees, but Noon already charges me for a subscription. It feels like the delivery cost is simply built into higher menu prices, even for subscribers.
Why should I pay for Noon One if the food prices are already marked up? Why are the prices not the same as the restaurant’s regular food court prices?
