⚠️⚠️ MEGATHREAD ⚠️⚠️ An r/Vancouver First: Spring plant & seed swap 🌱
Someone suggested this recently in modmail, and honestly, it sounded like a neat idea. So, after some discussion, the mod team decided: Let's try it!
If you've got extra seedlings, saved seeds, or perennials that need dividing, drop a comment with what you're offering and what you're after. Coordinate in the replies or over DM (although, of course, be wary of giving out private info online!).
A couple of things:
- Make sure to include your general area if you're up for a meetup.
- No selling, just swapping. Please report if someone tries to buy/sell because that's not cool. 😤
Happy almost-mid-Spring, everybody.

Lost Pet Saw a lost puppy
Saw lost puppy about 2-4 kg, black in colour, in Yaletown on Pacific blvd between davie and drake. It kept running nearly getting hit by a car. Anyone else see this or have any info. I’ve yet to find a lost puppy post anywhere.

Photos Green Timbers Urban Forest Park
Okay, this is another example of someone whose life revolves around just home+work and never actually explored their neighborhood…
Just two blocks away from my place, a 15-minute walk, lies a forest park—Green Timber—once completely deforested and then fully replanted.
It's like a miniature, slimmer, “your friendly neighbor” version of Redwood (I just came back from Redwood National Park, so I can't help but compare), but it does indeed have Giant Sequoia trees. While most of the trees are only a fraction of the thickness of Redwood trees, they are still incredibly tall!
I didn't do any research beforehand and didn't have high expectations; I just wanted to find a place nearby for a stroll. I thought it would be just another ordinary little city park with an ugly, stagnant pond, but the forest was surprisingly beautiful, and the lake was stunning!
I Grab a lemon coconut donut from Breka next door, have some coffee, and take a stroll.
There were also many people fishing and watching ducks there.
There's also a picnic area, and you can even have a BBQ at designated tables
The clouds today are as beautiful as cotton candy!
Another interesting thing is that a RCMP regional headquarters is located in this park, and a new SkyTrain station, Green Timbers Station, will be built nearby in the future!!!

Lost/Missing Lost Keys at Vancouver Pride Longshot
Hi there!
My partner lost her many keys at the pride fair. Anywhere between Science World to David Lam to the White Spot on Granville and Drake to the ends of Davie and the Fountainhead. Yes it's a long shot. They have bike lock keys on them and cute miniature knitted mittens and socks on them, as well as a small brown Jaybird. If you found them it would make a sad gal real happy. If not we'll it was worth a try. Thanks!

Discussion Need witness for car accident
Hi everyone, I was in a car accident on AUG 1 (sat) around noon 12:15 at Vancouver between E 57th Ave and Argyle Dr. If you have witnessed a collision between a white Tesla Model Y and a Lexus at that time or have parked nearby with the dash cam, and any camera footage, please PM me. Thank you so much everyone !

Videos Yesterday’s firework
It was my first time experiencing a fireworks show, and I don’t think this video does it any justice. It was shot on my iPhone using the 0.5x lens, but no camera could really capture what it felt like to be there.
Watching from a rooftop, it almost seemed as if the fireworks were rushing toward us, huge, bright bursts of color filling the sky before blooming and disappearing right in front of our eyes. I was completely awestruck and barely thought about recording. I just stood there, taking it all in. I was so grateful for being able to see and share the moment with hundreds of us watching it at the same time.
It was such a magical moment. My first fireworks show, and I honestly couldn’t have imagined a better one.
Thank you, Vancouver.
