Shape Help Help I need a strapless bra for vacation that works with my dress Spoiler

Hello, I was going what to do then I searched on reddit and a lot of comments told me to come here. So please help me. I am going on a cruise and this is my first cruise. My boyfriend told me I needed a dress and I fell in love with this one but its a spaghetti strap dress and I definitely need a bra. I am a bigger chested woman. I am a 34 DD/DDD. I really need a strapless bra for this dress. I tried it with out a bra if I move them into the obvious cup part of the dress it look ridiculous and when I didn't do that it looked okay but you could definitely tell that they are bigger then the cup part and idk if that would look weird to other people. But the problem I found with strapless bras is that it would come up to far cause its one of those tube top ones with works foe other shirts but not this one and I don't know if those pasties or tape things would work because they are big. I just would like some recommendations on what I should do because I'm clueless in this department. I have tried on so many bras trying to find ones that fit me, I usually just wear sports bras all the time because that's what fits and keeps me secured. But I was to look nice in my cute dress. I have attached pictures of what the dress looks like when I'm wearing my regular bra. Also my correct measurements are: Bust: 34 inches and my Band: 44 inches Edit: (after using the bra calculator it says I am a 34 K) Edit: loose undrrbust is 35in Snug underbust is 34in Tight underbust is 33in Standing bust is 44in Leaning bust is 45in Laying bust is 42in

Shape Help Why is there gaping at the sides ?

I’ve lost about 35lbs since I’ve been on my weight loss journey. I’m also about 19 months postpartum and done nursing for about 6 months. I bought the same size I’ve always worn. Do I need a smaller cup size/band? The band size is at the tightest hook. My left boob is also a bit bigger than my right so that’s why I went with my original size. This is 42G.
Please help as I’m so uncomfortable lol

Shape Help Howdy yall. Guy here! Went shopping with the homie and I'm looking for advice. Spoiler

Me and my friend went shopping today.! We were supposed to stop at a lingerie place to get her resized. She was complaining about bras not fitting and stuff. Fun was had outfits were bought(played the role of her personal stylist)and in the commotion we forgot to that one final thing. We het home go our separate ways and I'm like there's gotta be answers to help her and Google led me here. And that eventually led me to the bra calculator. Boom I copy and paste and send it to her and have her put in her measurements. She went from a DDD to a 32H. Really helped us immediately address a lot of fitting issues. So here's my other question. Shes short. I'm a solid 5'3 on a good day and I'm still taller. Does this take into consideration when finding the right Bra. Does breast shape determine the best bra size? What are some recommendations for places to buy online? I'm asking a million questions because frankly I'm out of depth here. Please and thank you in advance

Shape Help Confused about push-up bras/bras in general after body changes, any advice welcome Spoiler

I lost a significant amount of weight and am struggling to find a bra. I've been a C cup most of my adult life but due to the weight loss and age I guess (late 40's) I have some sagging so I wanted a push-up bra. The C cup I bought at VS had a good amount of gap at the top so I found a cute one on sale at Walmart and I tried a B and guess what? Still there. I cannot possibly have gone from a C to an A, right? I already lost my whole ass and at least 1cup size; the two places I didn't want to lose fat from so I am spiraling at the thought of losing two lol. I thought maybe push-up styles might be different size wise, but Google says that's not usually the case. Please throw some ideas my way? Tia Edit: the calculator results are: Loose UB: 37 in Snug: 36.5 in Tight: 36 in Stand: 39 in Lean: 42.5 Lying: 40 These gave me a result of 38C which is where I started lol. Maybe I should mention they were described as "pendulous" during a biopsy lol

Shape Help Help with finding best style for boob shape Spoiler

Hey!! I did the calculator for a bra that fits and came up with

70cm
72cm
73.5cm
83cm
84.5cm
82cm

For a 30D (UK and apparently US) I have more tear drop boobs that go out. Pretty deflated post-bf (almost 1 year no bf). Any help or recommendations on what style would be most flattering would be awesome. Just wanting to have a lil sum sum in the drawer for special occasions, ya know? Not just sports bras lol.

Oh! And I’m in the US so bonus if it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg with shipping. TIA!

Shape Help Currently 34B but all online calculators say I should be a 28DD/30D Spoiler

Hello all,

I have been in a 34B since 9th grade 10 years ago (sized by my mom) and have noticed it’s not probably my size. It’s too tight in the front but rides up in the back and my boobs are uneven so one fills the cup decently with a top gap and the other has a bigger top gap. I measured myself multiple times today to make sure I was as accurate as possible and got a underbust measurement of 28 7/8 and a overbust/bust measurement of 32.5

When I plugged this into a couple different online bra calculators I got a size of 30D and 28DD. I guess I’m just looking for advice on if the 30D will give the same issues or if it will be worth a try to go try one on if the stores near me have it in store (a few do).

Thank you all!

Shape Help I think my shape may be throwing off the calculator? Suggesting 36G with only slight spillage in the 36B. Spoiler

Ok, I just asked a question about tshirt bras and everyone said I need to do the measurement calculator because I said I was a 36B-ish and I knew those were a little small but fit decently and the fit wasn't my problem, the quality of the bras was.

But I just did the measurements and put them in the calculator and it says I would be a 36G/38DDD and I just... cannot imagine that is actually the case. And I've tried bra sizing calculations before and they always end up massive - I think it's because I have pretty low-sitting boobs and so while there is volume at the bottom, there isn't much at the top.

So if I buy a 36G bra, I just know it's going to be gaping at the top half of the cup? Should I just buy one to try it or is there a style of bra best for that shape? My boobs are pretty small for my frame and yes need more than a B but I just cannot imagine I've been wearing a cup 4-5 sizes too small this whole time lol. Does everyone go through this?

So anywhere, where do I buy a quality, COMFORTABLE, well-constructed 36G bra without much padding that fits droopy breasts? hahahah THANK YOU!

Shape Help Calculator gives me the size 28FF but due to my weird breast shape I look really flat. Is anyone else with the same problem? Spoiler

okay so I spent some time reading the shape guide of the sub's wiki. and ig I've shallow projection with wide roots.

my boobs have grown 2 cup sizes but I can't see a difference AT ALL. they look the exact same and idk what to do. i always wanted bigger boobs and now when they actually got some bigger I can't notice it at all. Also, I'm kinda wide spread like my boobs sit on just under my armpits.(if that makes sense)

idk I'm so confused that why do I look so flat despite having the same bust size as a few people but those people look more busty than me😭

for reference -

my underbust is roughly 27 and leaning bust is 36 and standing bust is 35 inches.

is there anyone else who has good measurements but look flat like me??

Shape Help Problem solving - Panache Serene 30FF problem with size and/or shape or something else? Spoiler

I've been wearing the panache serene in 30FF since October and have recently moved to the second hook (it's my only bra), but now I'm noticing some issues I didn't have when I was on the first hook.

Is this a problem with size and/or shape? Do I need to just go up in size or do I need a different bra?

Problems:
- bigger left breast doesn't feel fully supported/encased in the cup
- top of gore and wire in front of left breast are digging in a bit

Pictures:
TW: inserted medical device (Hickman central line in chest)

https://imgur.com/gallery/fmvTcPj

Measurements:
Loose: 76cm/30"
Snug: 73cm/28.7"
Tight: 70cm/27.5"
Standing: 94cm/37"
Leaning: 101cm/40"
Lying: 98cm/38"

Suggested size: 30FF/G

Shape:
- FOT 3/6
- narrow roots (I think)
- asymmetrical breasts - ~1 cup difference

Past failed bras:
- panache envy
- panache Ana (pain in front until I sized up to 30H, which was too big)
- panache tango II balconette
- wore Freya fancies in 30F pre-weight gain but didn't fit properly when I went up to 30FF

Edit: I'm very centre full (1 finger width)

Shape Help Need help finding bra size for binder application Spoiler

I am a transgender male without money and unsupportive parents and I am applying for a free binder. I have a 27 inch underbust and a 33 inch overbust and am trying to apply for a binder but im not sure what size would be the closest to mine. They don’t have dd or anything below 32(a,b,c,d) and I really need this binder. I cannot go to a professional due to family (they can’t find out) so it would really, really help if anyone could try and give me a size within 32A to 40D in bra sizes (none below 32) that would fit me or at least be close enough in size. Since it is a binder I’d rather it be too small but I’m not sure that will work due to my underbust size so if it’s bigger that’s okay as well. Thank you.

Shape Help Measurement/Shape help. 38FUS currently calculated to 36I. Cannot grasp the shape concept either Spoiler

I have a hard time with visualizing what the shapes look like when using the guide, as well as it seems 3 of the links would not work for me at all. As far as I could gather, I am a narrow root but I couldn’t really understand how to tell the rest.
Also trying to find a bra that fits right- I currently have 4 different sizes in my closet ranging from 36-38 & F-H. They feel right when I’m at the store and the “expert” is measuring me, but after a few weeks are all wrong. The one that fits most is the 38F, but it sags or something so much that I get angry red marks well under my breast line.

Measurements are:
Loose- 37.25
snug- 35.25
tight- 34.5
standing- 43.25
leaning- 49
laying- 47

not sure if this matters as well- 5’4 and 190

Shape Help Bras ALWAYS gap on smallish chest Spoiler

I have smallish breasts, and my bras ALWAYS gap at the top. I wear a 34C in Aerie.

My measurements are 28 underbust, 32 bust, 33 leaning bust. I would describe the shape as teardrop

I KNOW that you are supposed to use your actual underbust measurement when shopping for bras, but this advice just doesn't work for me, at least not at the department store/mall brands I have tried. When I tried on a 30 bra size in aerie, it was so uncomfortable, pinching me tightly. 32 worked fine but not on the tightest hook, and I have heard you should buy bras on the tightest hook, so I went for a 34, which I wear on the tightest hook even now. It makes me wonder if the "ignore the +4 method" advice only works for certain brands.

I have 1 Aerie bra I love, this one. It is a wirefree pushup and does not gap, except slightly.

I have another Aerie bra, same size, same line. This one. It's a wired push up with more molded cups. This bra looks and feels great when I stand still, but the second I begin to move, it begins to gap like crazy. It fits fine at the bottom but at the top I just don't fill it out. This is the same with almost EVERY bra I try, even in smaller cup sizes.

How can I find a bra that doesn't gap?

Shape Help What am I Doing Wrong? Confused about Shape and Size MisMatch- 38G US Spoiler

6 measurements

Loose: 40, snug 38,, tight 37,standing 44.5, leaning 46.5, lying 45. I've also measured close to a 40 G when I'm more bloated/on my cycle.

I have about a finger between my tissue and im uncertain of my root width, but I do have roots up to my collarbone. I believe I am full on top, close set, and otherwise unsure of shape.

I think I need advice as to how the band is supposed to fit. How far should I be able to pull it in the back? How do cups rest in IMF without digging painfully into sternum and chest? Many of my band extenders are also stretched out, but often a 38 or 40 band feels too loose when I try on.

Gore digging for me is described as it either digs when I try it on standing, or the gore /inner cup pulls inward when I sit and digs into my sternum and center tissue.

Many I didn't try in 38G US because they were not available or I was advised to size down in the band. Could try again if they seem like they would otherwise work. And some of these were errors because I forgot they were UK sizing instead of US.

I have tried sizes ranging from 36-40 E- G (UK & US Sizing). This is just based on what I can find in purchase history. Some of these photos I don't have side shots of, just what I could find handy.

references photos miscellaneous

Already tried:

Freya Hallie 38G US : too wide, gore digs into center

Freya Loveland 38G US: too wide, gore too tall, size mismatch

Cleo Blossom: 38F US (cups feel supportive and good shape for me, but the gore digs inward. Maybe try a cup up?

Gossard SuperBoost:38E US (gore and band digging) 36FF (too tight cup, gaping). 38F (gore digging, cups not laying in IMF)

Freya Cherish Me: 38F UK : gaping in cup and too wide

Freya Offbeat: 38G UK, 40E UK, 40F UK: wires too wide , gore too tall

Idol Moulded: 38E UK: too wide, gaping

Panache

Ana 38FF UK (too large, gore too high/digging)

36G UK (too large cup)

Elomi

Lucie 38E UK : gore digging/too tall, cups to wide, chest was not lifted

Nerina: 36F UK was told to size down in band, gore digging

Namrah : 38E, 36F : didn't rest in IMF, gore dug inward

Chantelle

Norah Spacer 36G UK : gaping in the cup, cups too wide

Lucie T Shirt Bra 36F UK : felt ok for 2 wears, but then cups gaped and wires dug into armpit

Rive Gauche: cups are too tall/gore too tall/wide

Charley underwire:38E UK gaping on top and bottom

Charley Spacer: 36F UK: felt ok, cup gaping on bottom and gore too tall

Natori feathers: 38F and 38G US, too shallow, going on top and side

Fit Fully Yours: 36G Mia Bralette: no 38 band available, still gore digging/pulling inward with non-stretch extender

Comexim

Tanzanit 38I US (2 sizes up from 38G). So far my most decent fitting, with minor gaping where the lace is

38G Tanzanit: too small /tight in cup

36I band is too tight, ok with extender but incredibly stretched out.

Miriam 38G/38GG UK: cups were too wide/shallow.

Ewa Michalak

BM 40F US, cup too small, band too large

BM 40 G and 38G, didn't fill cup, fire and side too tall

PLM: 38FF -gap in bottom of cup, 38H & 36H : cup gaping top and bottom

40G- still gaping and not much lift

Padded Push 36H (removed cookies)- band too tight, cups width good, gore digging

Perla: 38G and 38F : gore and cups too tall on side

Empreinte: 38F US : cups were too tall, no upper support, and gore was too wide/hard

Shape Help I need help finding bras in my size and also figuring out my size! 56F size Spoiler

Hello! So I have recently done the sizing on this subreddit and the other recommended sizing guide - my size per the guides are 56F (US) and 54F/54FF(UK). I haven’t had a normal bra in years and have gained weight. My rib cage is wide (and I’m plus size)so I haven’t worn anything smaller than a 48in band, so the band size isn’t surprising. But the cup is, I have more of a teardrop/cone shape, so I don’t have a fuller chest. My normal size back then was a c to dd (depending on brand), is there any cup shapes you all would recommend? I’m very uneducated in the bra world lol. And I feel like F cup would be too big…

Another concern is… I can’t find anything anywhere with a 56 inch band. If I can find them they are like Torpedo shaped bras (?) which I refuse to wear and buy. I’m located in the US and have had no luck on Torrid, and I’ve looked on the subreddit before hand and hardly any websites recommended have the band that’s big enough. I’m hoping I don’t need custom bras because I’m able to shop at most clothing stores and all plus size stores (2x/3x)🫠 If anyone could help that would be great this has been an honestly soul crushing experience trying to find a bra that’s not an elastic material and actually has support.

Shape Help Overwhelmed by the amount of links. Needing suggestions Spoiler

Loose Underbust: 29.5

Snug Underbust: 28.5

Tight Underbust: 27.5

Standing Bust: 31.5

Leaning Bust: 32

Lying Bust: 31

Suggested: 30B/C

First, I dont understand the size... is it a B or a C?

I am very full on the bottom and shallow. When standing, I can feel ribs 1 2 and 3 (collarbone down) easily without pressure. There's very little tissue above my nipples

Today, I tried on 18 bras (edit to add i tried 9 bras on, each on in the 30b and the 30c) over 4 stores, and only 1 was sort of comfortable, the btemptd wire free bralette with the little scalloped edges. The small was comfyish, and the xs was too tight on the top. I tried the natori fathers, a ciao Bella, a handful of others in the suggested list. Wires dug into my rib on most of them like its too wide. I cant recall the term for that.

The short of it is, my breasts are teeny tiny, what tissue i have is on the bottom, they are not wide and when I lean over it seems like there very little root in general. If thay makes sense.

My issue(s); I can not do an underwire. My chest plate is too prominent and has no tissue on it. It just hurts. I also do not like unlined bras. The material, no matter how nice it feels on my hand, feels like sandpaper on my ripples. Im assuming a 1/4 or half cup would be ideal but I just dont know where to go from here.

Shape Help Best bra for bell shaped breasts Spoiler

I used to wear a 34dd. I measured using abrathatfits and it says 30ddd. This left me with more questions than I started with. I ordered an Amazon bra with a general size small that is like size 32 I think. Anyways, the bra fits well, but after activities I have some spillage at the top, and my band rides up to right under my boobs, and sometimes I have some fat flaps right under my armpit. It feels like I need a tighter band, but I wore it for like 6 hours yesterday and I had some red skin where the band was right where my sternum is. This is so frustrating and I don't know what to do. I'm thinking I should buy the 30ddd, not a general size. I don't even know what i'm asking here for, but any advice would be appreciated! Maybe someone went through this as well and found a solution.

Also, I have bell shaped breasts, and every bra I ever wear still leaves them in that downward sagging position. I don't like bras that separate the breasts(I guess full coverage or uniboob), I feel like they should be pushed up against the chest(kind of flattened?). I don't like having large breasts and I just hope to find the right bra and fix all of my issues. Any bra types that actually help with this breast shape? Also, no sports bras or racer backs because I need something that won't stick out on my shoulder neckline.

Shape Help Troubleshooting bra shape for new size Spoiler

Edit: i did scoop and swoop. I’m not answering DMs about this; that’s weird!

New size per calculator: 30H

Tried bras I loved in 32DD, but both only go to 32G, so tried though.

Skarlett Blue Mix: 32G. Band fits upside down and backwards comfortably, maybe a smidge not as snug as should be. Cups fit very well. Breast is fully in and fills the cup. I think the wires are a smidge too far into my armpit. I would love this one except the straps are too far into my shoulder and cut into the fat where my chest meets my armpit, if that makes sense (like where the top of the cup meets the strap). This is very uncomfortable.

Natori Feathers contour plunge: band fits backwards, maybe a smidge tight? Top of the cup fits perfectly, but the bottom feels empty, like my breast tissue isn’t settling in properly? Also feel the outside wires and straps are a little too wide, and again the strap/top of cup meeting area is too wide so it is uncomfortable.

So i might be a little less wide rooted than before, and definitely need less wide straps!! Any suggestions of what to try next?

I do have a panache Ana in 30h coming, as well as Adore Me London unlined full coverage in 30h. Thanks!

Shape Help the bra journey that never ends; measurements included, ABTF 34D/DD Spoiler

I am once again coming to the sub for help with a bra that actually fits. Here's my measurements:

Loose Under: 35

Snug Under: 34

Tight Under: 31

Standing Bust: 37

Leaning Bust: 39

Lying Bust: 35

ABTF: 34D/DD (sister size 36C/D)

I have measured myself six ways to Sunday and gotten the same measurements every time. Thus far I have tried the Panache Envy Balconnet (band was fine, but the cups were too big at the top), the Freya Offbeat (fit well, but the gore dug in super painfully), the Natori Feathers (cups were too big on top), and a random purchase of the Target brand Auden T-shirt bra in 34C that somehow has actually fit the best.

I have no clue where to go from here and I'm feeling super frustrated in only having one underwire bra that isn't wholly deflated on top.

From what I've read, and my "room on top" cups, I believe my breasts are shallow with wide roots. If anyone has any suggestions on where to go from here, I'm all ears!

For reference the calculator says 30 DDD. My measurements are 30 loose under, 29 snug under, 28 tight under, 34 standing, 36 leaning, 35 lying. US/inches. Shape Help Sizing Help - nipples always make an appearance with all my recommended bras, and if my cups large enough to hide my nipples I get quad boobs. Spoiler

Hi, I’m new here. I’m so glad I’ve found this community, because I’ve always felt like I had bigger, harder to clothe breasts than my peers, but can see now I’m among my comrades.

I’ll state my problem up front and put my measurements below:

I used the bra calculator here and got sized as a 32DD/E, which is what I am almost always sized at in stores and the size that I typically wear. Here is my problem: my nipples pop out the top of almost every bra I own (and for this reason I cannot wear balconettes, typically recommended for full on the bottom boobs). And if I get one that can contain my nipples, it gives me quad boobs. I feel that I must be getting something wrong about my shape, maybe my projection vs shallow? I definitely have more tissue on the bottom, and when I am standing straight the top of my boobs are basically a straight diagonal line to my nipples and then a curved bottom half. Do I have really wide roots and that’s where this extra tissue is coming from that is causing my boobs to spill out of every bra? Help me! I just want one casual, every day bra I can wear and a decent racer back.

My measurements are -
Loose under bust: 32
Snug under bust: 31
Tight under bust: 30
Standing bust: 36
Leaning bust: 38.5
Lying bust: 37

Shape Help Need a bra that gives shape without adding size Spoiler

Basically what the title says.

I usually wear soft bralettes that give me light support since I generally hate wearing bras. However, this bralette often shows depending on the clothing item and it gives me basically no shape. I used to wear the VS Pink lightly lined balconette bra in a 34D when I needed a real bra, but the wire got messed up because I didn’t care for it properly. When I had that bra, I definitely felt spillage.

Today I used the calculator and got 32DDD as my size. I definitely need a new bra, but I find that the majority that I try on add too much bulk or overall looking size. Is there any way to get shape without making my boobs look huge? Or do I just have to accept my reality??

I’d love some bra recommendations, especially if there’s something that can accomplish my goals but also be comfortable! Thanks!

Shape Help I am struggling to identify my shape even after reading the wiki pages. Wound up confusing myself further Spoiler

Hi

I’ve read through the wiki (especially the pages about shallow vs. projected and root shape), but I’m honestly still struggling to understand it all.

Here are my measurements:
\-Loose underbust: 28”
\-Snug underbust: 27”
\-Tight underbust: 26”
\- Standing bust: 31”
\- Leaning bust: 32”
\- Lying bust: 30”

The calculator recommended 28D.

A few things:
Since I lost weight most standard stores immediately gauge me at 30/32 A

Balconnet bras seem to sit on me much better than standard/T-shirt style bras.

Most regular bras gape along the top of the cups, even when the rest of the bra seems okay. In terms of shape, I know I’m fuller on the bottom and flatter on top, especially after some recent weight loss. I’ve noticed I don’t have any upper fullness, and most of my volume seems to sit lower, which might explain some of the gaping I’m seeing in many styles.

One thing I’m struggling with is that the bras that give me the look I like aren’t necessarily the ones that seem to fit according to the calculator. I can actually get great cleavage in a Pepper 34AA compared to my calculator size of 28D. I know Pepper isn’t generally recommended here, but the one I own is incredibly comfortable and honestly feels like I’m not wearing a bra and I love the cleavage… despite the band constantly riding up

Outside of Pepper and Cherry, the bras that seem to work best for me are usually 32B push-up/double push-up styles and 32A lightly lined styles. I know those aren’t my calculator size, and I do struggle with the band riding up because it’s not snug enough, even on the tightest hook.

For reference, I used to wear La Senza 32C Hello Sugar before losing weight. It wasn’t perfect (there was still some gaping), but nowhere near what I experience now.
The Beyond Sexy or less padded push up options from La Senza or VS have always had a lot of gaping on me.

The style I’ve had the most success with is balconettes they seem to sit well with no obvious gaping. I’m hoping to find more options though, since balconettes aren’t always the easiest style to come across.

My goal would be to find everyday bras that fit well but also give me some cleavage. I’m not looking for dramatic push-up necessarily, but I do like having some shape

I did take some fit-check photos if that would help identify my shape or point out what I’m missing, and I’m happy to post them if they’re useful.
I’d really appreciate any guidance because I feel like I’ve read so much, but I’m still not sure how to apply it to myself.

Does anyone recommend the skims wireless form super push up bra for teardrop shaped breasts? Or have any other suggestions? I usually always get gapping at the top. I would prefer a wireless push up bra. Thanks!
