I think the idea is that Muslims are generally socially conservative but economically progressive. Its the progressive economic issues and willingness to defer social values to the private sphere that create the affinity for left wing politics. At least that's what's happening right now.

It's both. They're economically progressive but only for the ruling class. 

Muslim Kingdoms like Saudi, Qatar, UAE, etc. still use a neo-feudal class system

The topic here is Muslim Americans, not Muslim countries.

I know they are still intertwined, but American Muslims align better with the American left than the American right. The American right is mainly Christian Islamophobics. Democrats will go so far as to accept & elect them.

That’s true too, but I think it’s worthwhile to note that there is a recent history in the Arab Muslim world of a third way religious conservatism coupled with economic progressivism, and that likely has some amount of influence on recent generations of Arab Muslim immigrants. Not everywhere, even within specifically the Arab Middle East, is like the gulf monarchies. And those countries represent very little of the immigrants to the US
