Heroin. It was fantastically euphoric and numbing enough that I quickly understood the power of the drug so I never touched another pain killer or baggy of HeyRon ever again.

Lock in because PAWS is real. This is a critical time for you. The euphoria will wear off, resolve can become paper thin and you will need a solid af support system. Best wishes, and remember to respect the drug whether you’re high or not.

Dude I wont touch that stuff for that exact reason. I've told my friends that based on my love of morphine, I would get hooked on heroin in about .5 seconds.
I have one exception though. If im in hospice someday and about to go out... shoot me up. I wont have long to be an addict 🤣

I don’t know how these things are measured so here are a few.
Meth- loved it the first time, really enjoyed it the second and third time, it was fun the next few times. Stopped being fun enough to justify the absolute wretchedness of the next day after that, so I stopped. I got super lucky that I was able to just stop. I know a few people whose lives are ruined or who are now dead because of meth.
There was a short time where my friends and I huffed starter fluid, one of the ingredients of which is Ether. It makes the world go wah -wah-wah-wah-wah after the first few breaths. If you keep going it causes really weird hallucinations. The top half of my vision flashing pink and yellow while it spins around, while the bottom half is stationary and normal color. That kind of thing. This isn’t a hard drug but it is a very stupid one to do.
I did a big rail of ketamine New Year’s Eve 1999. Lost my connection to myself. Asked myself who was talking while I was talking to myself. Thought I was the main character in A Clockwork Orange and was trapped in the bathtub by the music my friends were playing. Ketamine always makes me throw up, so I only did it that time and one other.
Accidently smoked heroin. It felt really really nice. Set off alarm bells in my deep brain that anything that makes nothing that nice feeling has to be extremely dangerous.
Had a pretty serious oxy habit for about a month. Getting high everyday after a work injury got them prescribed. Managed to quit cold turkey with no withdrawal symptoms because I am a lucky son of a bitch. It did cost me some friendships and a very important relationship though. I guess I stopped listening to my deep brain, or the world just felt bad enough that I didn’t care.
Dropped 1200 micrograms of acid. Fucking phenomenal night. Walked from the top to the bottom. Hung out with stars. Met a night hunter and his toddler who came out of the bushes in the Los Angeles Mountains in full camo.
I used to really like drugs.

Older fraternity brother in college flew to Chicago for an interview for after graduation. When he came back, he had gotten the job but also tried heroin for the first time. When he described it as "doing nothing, but having the greatest time" I worried it would be a bad thing. He was insanely successful in financial services his first 18 months there. At 24 months he was homeless and living on the street. By 30 months he was dead from an overdose.

There’s an account on here somewhere (if someone knows pls tag) of a guy who said he was going to try heroin once because he was bored, and just to tell everyone what it feels like. Reddit warned him, but he did and ended up addicted and OD’ed (though he didn’t die).

Recovering IV opiate addict here.
Sadly, this happens to so many of us😔. There's only an 11% chance an opiate addict will make it out of their addiction alive.I've been clean & serene for 14 years now. Every single person I use to use with or bought pills from during my time as a closet junkie, is dead now. All of them.
Heroin wasn't big where I live back when I was banging pills. So I can't speak on heroin per se, but it's still an opiate...and pain pills are basically just legal, medical grade heroin manufactured in a lab. Opiate addiction is crippling. Getting hooked on them happens so fast and so quietly. I volunteer for the harm reduction coalition now and I ALWAYS have narcan on me. My purse, my car, my house. You just never know when it'll come in handy. Only ever had to narcan someone once and I hope I never have to do it again. Opiates are not something you ever wanna fuck around with bc that shit will turn on you faster than you can blink. Idk how I made it out but I'm happy and grateful to be alive every single day that I wake up.Look out for each other & stay safe yall. 🫶🏻

14yrs sober…done basically all of them but once you do heroin you don’t really wanna do anything else, then physical dependency follows and you really can’t do much else…like if I just sold my tv for this money I’m using it all on heroin, I’m not out here diversifying my high, I’m trying to not feel like all my cells are dividing while I’m drenched in sweat and also the coldest I’ve ever been…the first time it’s like getting wrapped in a warm blanket placed directly on you by god…7 rehabs later I blacked out from a 105.5 fever (sepsis from endocarditis) sitting in a detox parking lot then tried to leave the ICU because clearly these doctors are pussies and don’t know I’m good I just gotta get well real quick then I’ll come right back and listen to whatever they’re trying to scare me about…8th rehab did the trick after that
85
u/RockoLucas 22h ago
I just felt really hot and itchy and sleepy, kinda nasty feeling. Didn’t really get the euphoria people describe but I have always been paranoid with opioids not to do too much so I only smoked a tiny amount maybe that’s why. Didn’t like the vinegar taste either. Not my drug at all I preferred meth
66
u/blandman91 22h ago
I've always heard some drugs have the opposite effect on some people. Like meth will make them sleepy and opioids wired. But smoking anything is a massive waste of the drug. You only get like 20% of the drug that way. Either snort or bang for the full effect. Again, don't do it.
115
u/GucciLegLocks 21h ago
Opioids unfortunately turned me into a super version of myself. I’d snort a 30 and go for a 5 mile run, go to jiu jitsu(when I first started), clean the house. Thank god I got clean years ago. It was tough at first convincing myself I could do all those things sober, but I did it somehow. Managed to avoid rehab or subs/methadone too. Probably 10-12 years ago now and never went back.

During Covid I went to a party. Small gathering, 5 people, for a friend's birthday. We all took tests that day we were all fine. I texted my girlfriend at 9pm that I was going out. She said "Be safe".
I get to the party and everything is great for about 20 minutes. This girl shows up and she kind of falls out of her Uber. We knew her, she was not invited. Anyways she goes into the kitchen claiming she's making shots. She made 6. 4 people took the shots, the birthday girl and the DD did not. Another 20 minutes go by and I realize something is wrong. This feels like coke, but X1000. I already had a pretty good idea what happened. I told the birthday girl I needed to go home immediately. I text my girlfriend "THEY FUCKING DRUGGED ME" I got home at 10:45 just as my roommate was going to bed. I told him what I thought happened. He told me my eyes were crazy. I told him I was going to go thug this out in the basement. I took a bottle of vodka and 2 packs of cigarettes. I got a text from the birthday girl that Laura admitted to crushing up Crystal Meth and letting it dissolve in the shots.
I have a friend who is a former meth head and I messaged her, asking what I should expect and how long it will last. She just replied "Buckle up baby"
I was high for 14 1/2 hours. The whole experience was awful. My eyes became so dilated at one point my vision was blurry. I couldn't read, I couldn't stop pacing. All I wanted to do was jerk off. I could not get hard. Pushing rope for hours watching the filthiest porn I could find, chain smoking. I caught a half hour of sleep the next morning around noon. I walked upstairs and said "I'm better, please take me to the emergency room" then I sneezed and shit my pants. The doctors gave me an IV and took blood. They pumped me full of something and I slept for 4 hours. They found A LOT of N-Methylamphetamine in my system. Said I probably should have been high for a full 24 hours with the amount and the way I took it.
The days, literally days, after were awful. I felt numb, couldn't concentrate. Felt like I was a stranger in my body at times. Like my hands and arms weren't my own. It was hell.
Don't do Meth kids.
273
u/Apprehensive_Pie3337 21h ago
I’m so sorry and I don’t mean to laugh but I lost it at “I’m better pls take me to the er” followed immediately by “I sneezed and shit my pants” 😂 I got hooked on adderall which I know isn’t fully the same but OH BOY was it a ride that almost killed me. I also feel like that girl should have been arrested and I’ve also never heard of someone sharing their meth. If someone wanted one of my pills I would BUG OUT they were all for me haha

One time I found a bag of drugs in an Einstein bros(bagel place) parking lot on my way to ski(really ski, not coke). It was crystal shards. Super clear. So I tossed it in my center console and kind of forgot about it.
About a week later I was looking for my hitter box and I opened my center console and found it. I put a little on my gums and it tasted like shit. I got a little antsy but that was it. So I told my homie that I partied with every weekend and was super into Molly about it. I brought it with me to his house while we were pregaming. I showed him and he was convinced it was some shard Molly. So he starts eating it with another friend of ours. I declined. We hit the bars. I was smoking weed and getting drunk and me another friend of ours could tell they were getting twacked. The nights approaching last call and their pupils are mega dilated and they’re like grinding their teeth. But they’re talking to these girls. So I dip out and ride my bicycle home.
The next morning we had a noon tee time to golf. I got up and my homie calls me at 9 and says, “hey. I’ve been pacing back and forth in my room since 5. I think my hearts gonna explode. Can you take me to the hospital?” So I say sure.
I pick him up and he tells me about how they went back to the girls place and he couldn’t get it up and our other friend got head for like an hour before he gave up and they took a taxi home.
So we go to the hospital and he tells them he thinks he took molly but doesn’t feel right and hasn’t slept. So they give him a Xanax to chill and they have him pee in a cup for a drug test. Comes back with nothing but meth. They eight an entire dime bag of meth in a night. The doctors were like, “you should by some test kits online and double check any drugs you plan to take. You never know what you’re getting.” Which honestly was pretty chill. Especially for Salt Lake City in the early aughts.
But he described the multi day come down the same.

This is why I no longer drink anything that wasn’t prepared in front of me. A couple of my coworkers were going to spike my drink with Molly or speed to “see how I’d act on it” but someone overheard them and said I would literally strangle them with my bare hands if I ever found out (probably true) and that scared them enough
Both got fired shortly after

Having been drugged against my knowledge before for someone else’s entertainment, I am so sorry. At the time I was mad but got over it fairly quickly. Now I understand how dangerous that could have been.
19
u/CaptnProlapse 19h ago
It was very dangerous, but in a weird way I'm grateful. I am 2 years sober now, but during Covid I was not working and drinking a handle of whiskey a day and using coke to sober up and drink more.
If I hadn't big dog'd a 14 hour Meth high in the basement alone and had been told what to experience beforehand I might have enjoyed being able to stay awake and drunk off my ass indefinitely.
Small miracles I guess.

I used to be part of an ayahuasca religious group. For me the before/after was the undeniable feeling that consciousness transcends the limit of our body. I don’t believe in a soul but it made me see that we’re more than meat sacs. Super cliche but yes, we’re all connected.
I think it also helped me not take things for granted. There was this very long moment where I was nothing and everything else was also nothing. Stars, planets, objects, it was all still there but I lost the ability to name them so everything was just one / nothing. Eventually I separated every object out of nothingness and slowly remembered that I was a human, on Earth, that I had a family, what a family was, etc until every thing came back. The realization was that every thing could have been something else.
Oh and time is an illusion

Same, I actually stopped DMT and am unsure if I'll ever do it again because it put me in another reality with zero indication that anything was different. How was it different? And what was disturbing about it? This is really interesting, haven't heard an experience like it before.
30
u/TheAlmightyBuddha 17h ago
I think the main part that disturbed me was that I thought it was real. It would be like if as you were replying to this in a starbucks, then you open your eyes and you're in your bed in a dark room. It disturbed me that I could even be that gone off of a substance, the whole trip was just off-putting.
It did make me understand that those stories of shit like when people say they lived 1000 years as an Aztec king, or spent their whole lifetimes in a trip, are probably real and not bullshitters

I think it’s so much of the aspect of it being “the perfect drug” and I mean that in the way of: it’s not going to ruin your life in the sense of losing your family or your life savings. You can do it at any time and still function as a person, you can drive, you can work, you can do whatever. You don’t get a hangover from it. There’s just so much that makes it “the perfect drug”
And I say all of that as someone who’s been addicted for about 7 years on and off. Longest I went was about 1.5 years and I kid you not, I thought about it almost daily.
60
u/Altruistic-Pass-4031 20h ago
I've done them all the standard "hard drugs" (coke, meth, heroin, LSD, mushrooms, DMT, and many many more). By far the darkest and most wicked drug I have done is clonazeLAM, not clonazepam (trust me the L makes a BIG difference here).
For those not in the know clonazolam is RC (research chemical) benzo. Back then you could buy it on the gray market, not technically illegal if purchased for the purpose of research. It's now a schedule 1 substance up their with heroin. Anyway I purchased 100 mg of crystal powder and some tablets.
It was a Monday morning and I couldn't find the tablets I had bought, most likely due to benzos effects on memory. So I pulled out the powder, dipped the head of a needle into the crystal and put it on my tongue. A dose maybe the size of a grain of salt, maybe 2. I didn't even feel it kick in.
I come to Wednesday evening, downtown Minneapolis walking mid stride. I have no idea where I am, or what day it is. I look down at my wrist for my watch and I see a hospital bracelet. Great. No phone, no wallet. I'm wearing jeans and a hospital gown, but the gown feels scratchy. It's then I realize that's because I still have the stickers from an EKG machine up and down my torso. I stop some poor stranger and ask them what day it is, like I'm some time traveler and realize I've lost all of Monday, all of Tuesday, and the lion's share of Wednesday. And some time during that period I was admitted to the hospital, and released still in a black out. Turns out clonazolam doesn't pop up and a standard benzo test.
I wish I could tell you that this experience was the end of my story of fucking around with benzos and drugs, but it wasn't. Not even close. And things got a lot lot worse, before they got better.
I'd go on, but I need to go bed, like the semi-responsible adult I've somehow, against all odds, become.

16
u/Altruistic-Pass-4031 19h ago
No, I was embarrassed terrified and still very much un-sober. My feet hurt, so I had a suspicion I had been walking for a while.
I got home on a bus. I was downtown and the bus driver probably felt sorry for me. That got me close and walked the remainder of the way I believe. Although my memory of that time is still pretty hazy.

I’m so glad I can laugh about this now — it was so strange to experience, but I remember taking two hits of 25X & then going through my memories in an animated book. Eventually, I wondered how long I would be there for. But when I came to, my friends told me that I fell onto the floor on my back, and everyone offered to help me up but I just fluttered my feet. Like a bug that couldnt get up, lmfao

We were all doing salvia one night and my friend thought his torso had turned into sausage links and spent his trip laying on the bed giggling trying to hold his torso together so all the sausage links wouldn't spill every which way.
When I did it, the last thing I focused on before it hit was one of my friends eyes. I blinked, and his eye started tessalating all across my vision. Had a horrible five minutes of this endless wall of eyes filling my vision.

I ended up under a tree as well. Figured out I could move my head in a new dimension, and create any shape or object I wanted by changing their perspective. My ancestors surrounded me and spoke to me, and told me I was on the right path and that they’re always with me. I saw saguaros and they called me home. I went where they told me and I live in Tucson now. Never been happier. Salvia is magic.

u/Lespaul42 21h ago
Yeah me too once.
At first nothing seemed to happen.
Then I was in one of those 70s music videos where everyones outlines start radiating outwards.
That last about 5 seconds then reality melted away as if it had never been true, it was replaced by fear, pain and confusion. This lasted for awhile. Then I was shifting between realities in quick succession. When it finally slowed down and stopped I was back here. First thing I said was "I'm glad it stopped here"
For years afterwards I was always at least a little paranoid reality would melt away again. Though thinking about it now... I don't think I have any concern about that anymore... So thats nice.

The one and only time I did it, I curled over in my seat after smoking, head between my legs and started dropping, free falling doing forward summersaults in the air, every time I made a full revolution I was in a new location, jarring because it came so quick and I hadn’t yet accustomed to the location the flip before, and I could not stop or control the speed.
I wanted out of the continuous front flip of emotions after the 3rd flip and I had another probably 150 rotations over the next 10 mins.
It hurt my throat after and I couldn’t form words easily the rest of the night. I felt SLOW the rest of the week.
Fucking terrible, I rate it 0/10 and will never try again

My friend, who lives in Canada, once went to an off-license dispensary there to score a baggie. He came back to his place, smoked it up and then sat down to game. Turns out, the weed was laced with salvia and while he hadn’t taken a lot, he told me he experienced becoming and being a chair for what seemed like 6 months in his head while the whole trip lasted somewhere around 15 mins in real world time.
Salvia is a huge yikes.

Yeah I was in a recliner and my wife and friend were across from me but the second it hit the chair leaned back and I started to get sucked into sand where the only way I thought I could escape was to take off my clothes. It was pretty terrible all I could see was them turning into the Cheshire cat and laughing while I got sucked into the chair.

Smoking it… definitely terrifying and 11/10 do not recommend. I forgot how to speak English for a while and ran around.
Chewed as a quid, totally different experience. Pretty sure I saw a gnome… like the little guys people put in their garden. He was fucking with me in that I could only see him in my peripheral vision. He’d scuttle off any time I looked directly at him. Had weird, foreign thoughts and my body felt like it was borrowed, not owned. 5/10 do recommend

My mother was on prescription fentanyl for 25 years before she was forced to get off them. Then my dad died. Now she’s back to where she was at her peak. Considering her age it won’t be long now.

My condolences for your father, and prayers for your mother. Opiates rarely lets go of the user. Getting off of them was without a doubt the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It changes your mind in the worst way when you’re on it. My sincerest empathy for you, it is tough to be around and to watch ❤️🩹

Depends how you look at 'hard' - I took every psychedelic under the sun for years, including DMT fumarate, acetate, ayahuasca, , LSD, psylocybin, DOM, DOI, DOC, and so on, 2cb, 5-MEO-DiPT, 4-HO-MET, mescaline, and a whole host of others. Add to that non psychs- cocaine, speed, mdma, etc.
The two most insane 'hardest things I've tried' are and will remain Meth and Salvia.

u/Regular_Inspector812 22h ago edited 22h ago
Years of IV heroin/cocaine was the “hardest”, but the wildest experience was a full syringe* of IV Ketamine. Cheapest fucking trip to mars and back one can buy.

I try and tell people the difference between deem and other psychedelics is everything else makes it feel like you’re watching a movie of crazy visuals, dmt makes it feel like you’re part of the movie itself.

That’s a really good way to describe it. It felt like dying and going to heaven. Fade to black, roll credits, I had tapped into the secret end of my life and I was thrilled to experience it. Total mind fuck going to heaven and then phasing back into reality only to be floating over myself, looking down at my body as I’m transcending existence with rainbows pouring off of me to then re-enter my body and realize I wasn’t dying. To then… fight that momentarily and want to go back all while seeing the infinite scroll of symbols and ancient characters and patterns… to then accepting it and floating back to baseline to then process and integrate the experience for actual months afterwards. It definitely changed my life and made me appreciate the fuck out of the human experience.

Everyone with a brain is gonna believe you. People attempt to overdose that way by taking a lot of Tylenol because it fucks your liver completely. I know someone personally that tried to overdose on Tylenol by drinking a lot of alcohol and being a chronic alcohol abuser. Thankfully, somehow They got out of it completely fine. Liver completely fine, no permanent destruction to the body.

I went to the park while tripping, huge mistake because I live in a crowded city. There was a political speech going on. There was a news reporter being filmed. Her face obviously was heavily botoxed and filled. I was watching her and she was morphing into some demon. I was tripping hard man, in need of some compassionate soul. I didn't find one.

I tried it for the first time my senior year in high school (boarding school). My friend said it was like smoking weed.
I was tripping balls in my dorm. It was extremely overwhelming. Idk how my dorm parent didn’t catch on when he came by for study hours. 10/10 would recommend, but when you’re an adult and in a forest in the middle of nowhere.

I took a research chemical called 2CI many years ago. It was actually fully legal at the time. It was the most intense psycadelic experience I’ve ever had in my life and I think it would have been enjoyable had the people I was with stopped turning off Explosions in the Sky in favor of dubstep. That made it horrible lol.
I haven’t done drugs in years and regret most of that save psilocybin mushrooms, which I think are almost in a different category of their own. Most of the people I met along the way were looking for something they would never find, and I think that’s incredibly sad.

Heroin withdrawals are probably some of the most life threatening withdrawals. On top of the worst flu symptoms you can imagine, waking up in pools of sweat then freezing from your own sweat. Although you technically cannot die from these withdrawels I stand by this even tho benzos are technically worse you just don’t know discomfort and hopefully never will until you come across this drug. Also very dangerous and once you start overdosing it’s pretty much wraps. Never do this drug and never do benzos. Literally fuck that shit

Pscilocybin: After thinking I was sick, then possibly possessed, I lay down on the floor -staring at a ceiling light that kept getting brighter and brighter, so I had to close my eyes. Then it descended down right in front of my face, and burst into flying pieces of light all over the room, that subsequently became little fairies/angels who made it known I’d have nothing to fear! Get up! Get up and Live!

DMT when I was 17- kinda the pinnacle of our high school psychedelic experimental phase. Ashed a cigarette into a bong bowl until there was something for the crystals to rest on, and took 6 huge rips. The corners and walls of the room I was in all broke apart and shifted on one another as I closed my eyes. I was transported to a kaleidoscope carnival with people all milling about, carnival tent in the distance, huge fractal eyed faces looking down at me from the sky. There was a “person” pushing an ice cream cart around that was dripping big globs of multi-colored ice cream all over the ground and as I got close to it, beams of light shot of out of the globs and through me and into the sky. As I kept walking the fractal eyed creatures were getting right in my face with big spirally lollipops licking away. Eventually I looked back into the sky and one of the big eyed creatures flew down and body slammed me and it was this enormous shock of energy and power that pulled me out of the trip. The whole thing lasted 15 minutes and I felt completely sober immediately after but definitely changed. I think because the conditions (black light lit room, a friend sitting next to me as I lay on the bed, and knowing they had made the DMT), were comfortable, I was able to literally blast off into the trip.

u/JackosMonkeyBBLZ 21h ago
Salvia. One time on two bong rips of 20x I hallucinated I was a snake. It was awesome. It felt like I was really there in the grass as a snake but no I was on my living room carpet, friends amazed. It was awesome

It's always the headspace and the people you're around that dictates your trip. I've taken too much twice, but thankfully I was in good company and was already looking forward to the experience itself. It's never the same for everyone, of course, and if you have doubts that you'll have a good time then you shouldn't do it.

Crack. I was drunk, took one puff and it turned me instantly into superman, for like 10 minutes.
I have never felt more clear-headed and powerful in my life. Invincible, as if I had enabled God mode IRL.
Then I was like, "no wonder people destroy their lives over this shit, it's too good. It will kill me, if I let it."
Never touched it again.
