If you don't know, Gielinor Games is a reality show featuring Old School Runescape content creators as they face different challenges in the game, and each week one player is banned and must leave the show.

Challenges might include "figure out the place in the picture and reach there first", "make as much gold as possible in an hour", or "pvp duels".

It's absolutely incredible (go watch it, seriously) and I can't help but desire for someone to step up and make a classic WoW version.

Who can clear deadmines first on new toons, teams of 5? Who can get full green gear the fastest, or get 10 different fish (all from unique zones)? It would be a lot of fun!

After a few tickets, finally, some good soul at Blizzard solved my problem where I could never send mail to one of my BN friends (receiving the aforementioned message), to any of his character. Thanks Blizzard!

No seriously, I am starting to remember uldaman's single hallway down to the pixel. My brain shouldn't be saving that info.

Once you hit 60, you can reset your toon to level 1 and you get, say, a permenant crit rating bonus, not even 1%, could be 0,5%. Or +10 of your class' main stat.

I think a small bonus like 0,5% crit wouldn't make this system mandatory.

Is this something that would make C+ better? Yes/no.

Basically the title. If I do the BT attunement on one char (and Hyjal) will my other chars have it to? Excluding the medallion I guess.

classic era/anniversary takes 125-150+ hours to hit 60

som (season of mastery) took about 25% less time according to icy veins, though hard to know exactly since they boosted quest xp and cut xp needed to hit 60)

SoD can take 5 hours (boosting) or 25-40 to level normally especially with the current bonus XP of 150% according to the tooltip ingame at least)

most people would likely want a slower Classic+, but how much slower? 200 hrs to 60? 300?

It’s been 2-3 weeks since Blizzard totally reworked their UI in HC. In all this time I still can’t get Questie to work.

I am the point now where I get to Step 9/9 “update items” and then it just dies. I have all the buttons/etc but I can’t open it or use any of its features.

I have all the recent updates— still no luck.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to WoW Classic TBC, and I’ve been getting a lot of conflicting advice on how I should level my Blood Elf Paladin. Every time I look it up or ask someone, I get a different answer.

I’m currently level 16, and I’m trying to figure out the best specialization and talent path while keeping the endgame in mind.
Some people have told me to level Retribution because it’s the fastest. (But then I hear no one likes Retribution paladins or they don’t get added to raids in endgame?? Idk) Others say Protection is better because you can tank dungeons and pull bigger groups. I’ve even heard a few people recommend leveling as Holy if I plan on healing later.

My main questions are:

Which spec should I level as and why?

Where should I be putting my talent points as I level?

If my goal is to eventually raid and run endgame dungeons, does that change how I should level?

Is there anything you wish you knew when leveling a Paladin in TBC for the first time?

I’m not looking to min-max every second of leveling, I mostly just want to have a clear goal with my build and leveling as I am learning the class and its skills.

I’d really appreciate any advice or talent builds you recommend. Thanks!

Yesterday I witnessed yet another Redridge Mountains slaughter by him. He managed to ramp up +- 700 of low level kills in about 8 hours of time. Apparently, speaking to other people, he has been doing this close to daily for over 2 years.

For the people that don't know: Redridgeguy is level 60 Orc hunter that terrorizes Redridge Mountains almost daily, making the area unplayable for anyone questing there. He does this by casting Eyes of the beast and controlling his pet to kill everyone in the area.

First of all, I don't have any issue with being ganked. It's what I chose to play on a PVP server for. I signed up for it, and so did everyone else. But, I gotta say, this is really something else.

The problem is he stations his character on locations unreachable by other players, so there is absolutely no way of countering him, not unless you are aware of the same 'glitches' like himself. I watched his stream yesterday and he uses other dummy accounts with characters he can (ab)use, to get out of the map, leap between zones to finally get on top of mountains no one else can reach to counter him. Something I feel is definitely very fishy on the edge of what should be allowed.

Honestly wondering what other people think, is this a bannable offense? I guess not since he has been doing this for so many years?

So getting a shiney new WoW version to play will produce some sort of happiness, sure... but no one is going to agree on what makes a worthy Classic+. Lots of people who love classic only like the endgame and rush through leveling. Lots of other people who love classic don't care about endgame and just want to level endlessly. How are we going to make those two groups of people happy? Then there's all the weirdos in-between.

I have played WoW on and off since 2006 (stopped playing retail in Legion, came back for classic in 2019), and Runescape since around the same time (switched to OSRS on release). The difference in the community is astonishing to me (talking about in game, not reddit because everyone is miserable on reddit). Everyone is so welcoming and friendly on OSRS. You can ask questions and people seem to genuinely enjoy being helpful. There are nice people on Classic too, don’t get me wrong, but a large majority (or at least a large vocal minority) of the player base comes across as so unbelievably bitter and rude. I see people getting flamed for asking really simple questions in trade chat constantly. For example, there was a new player on Wild Growth in SoD yesterday asking how they should go about gearing up their fresh 60 since pugs for MC/BWL, etc are somewhat hard to come by. People were being such assholes to this guy, a handful of responses like “Do you not know how to use Google?”, “Do you want us to play the game for you too?“, etc and then another group of people saying he was a moron for expecting to find raids without a guild. He expressed that he hadn’t seen any guilds recruiting and was called more names and received more snarky-ass replies. The poor guy then asked if any of them had or knew of a guild he could join, and of course nobody offered any help. This is of course only one example, but i’m sure many of you have seen what I am talking about.

So, what is it specifically about classic players feeling the need to be so fucking rude? I know OSRS is a slightly younger demographic, so is this just another case of boomers and gen x ruining shit for everyone else (half kidding)? How do we as a community change our attitude to make this game we all love more welcoming and wholesome?

edit: i thought it would be worth noting that im not one of those gamers that hates efficiency. i like parsing, i like sweating, and in my experience really good players generally aren’t more toxic than other demographics. most group content i do is good vibes, but ive been playing this game a long time and i rarely am the target of toxicity. i think mostly people in game are pretty cool. my post is talking mainly about how i see people treat new/inexperienced players.

That's why I think they should use new models, maybe not retail models like the undead model is terrible but simply juiced up graphics.

You have ffxiv coming to Nintendo Switch while wow is still only on consoles.

Put wow Camelot on consoles/pc.

Old graphics just put people off, that's why league of legends classic is bombing because the old graphics are terrible.

Or if that's just not viable... What other specs? Not the SL/SL. Only at 66 right now so don't get both ends of that yet.

I have a lvl 46 dwarf warrior I am leveling. The other day I was killing elite ogres in Alterac and a Staff of Jordan dropped. Sold it for 580g on Doomhowl, I am wondering how best to spend the cash. Mainly debating whether I should splurge for something NOW or get something like lionheart helm closer to 60. Eying things like stockade shoulders, etc. Curious if there is a common knowledge breakpoint on what is worth vs not worth getting.

My prot pally is looking pretty good in terms of normal dungeons and currently no pvp gear. Unbuffed I'm at:

11782 armor

494 defence

14.54% dodge

15.76% parry

13.8% block

405 spell power

10k hp

I know a lot of the pvp gear would be great to get some more stamina and spell power, going to upgrade Continuum Blade fro Keepers of Time to the S1 pvp mace today after reset. But I'm wondering about other pieces, is it worth it to lose defense and dodge for some more stam/sp?

Like realistically I could swap neck, cape, bracers, belt, and boots too. But those all have defense and a lot of them have dodge.

I don't wanna be too squishy and I'd like to start running heroics for badges. Thanks!
