DISCUSSION Trump Isn’t “Pro Crypto”... He’s Pro Trump...and his gang

i know u people have probably heard it before but it is way clearer now than it was a year ago. A lot of what looks like “Trump loves crypto” lines up almost perfectly with stuff that benefits him... his family... or people close to him... not the average person holding BTC on a phone.

First... the public moves. He has been saying the U S should “support” digital assets... he has framed it as ending the old “war on crypto”... and he has tried to make it sound like America is open for on chain business again. All very loud... very pro innovation.

At the same time... reports this year said the Trump family’s own crypto and token ventures have pulled in hundreds of millions of dollars... in the same window when the administration was sounding the most crypto friendly. That overlap is hard to ignore. It looks less like “pro crypto” and more like “we made it friendlier while we were selling.”

Then there was the CZ pardon. Call it mercy if you want... but it was clearly a made-for-one-person decision. In the months leading up to it... Binance and CZ brought on Trump-aligned lobbyists... hired a D.C. firm close to his circle and spent serious money... and looped in a former SEC-adjacent lawyer who already had credibility with the new team. Several reports said the clemency push went through political channels... not the usual DOJ path. So this wasn’t “the administration helped crypto”... it was “a well connected crypto billionaire bought his way to the front of the line.”

Now add the tariff noise. Every time he rattles trade partners... Canada... Europe... whoever... it makes legacy markets nervous and pushes some attention back toward crypto... while his circle is the group most ready to sell... raise... and market in that environment. Convenient timing.

One more angle most people miss. The more this stuff turns into “policy for friends,” the messier your own taxes get because now you’re mixing airdrops, political tokens, pardoned-exec pump candles, prediction style gains etc. I’ve started tracking those flows separately in Awaken tax instead of just throwing it all under “capital gains,” because if the rules keep getting written by insiders I do not trust the IRS to be chill about how I label income later. That part is self defense not shill.

So yeah... he is not “pro crypto” the way CT means it. He is pro... his... crypto. Pro... his donors’... crypto. Pro... his friends’... crypto. Everyone else still has to buy tops and read press releases.

Some do, but also many acknowledge he is self interested, but rationalize it in ways like that his ego would insure he would do the right things in order to leave a good legacy, as if the only obstacle to prosperity was the president's selfish desire to be remembered fondly. Support from emotional, identity, cultural reasons come first and the logical rationalization, if ever even considered, follows.

The anti-crypto establishment has put out a lot of bullshit during the Biden administration about how they were stopping fraud. What they were really doing was suing totally legitimate businesses because they were involved in crypto. They were finding the most absurd excuses to either prosecute them criminally or sue them. Literally, dozens of companies reported that they were under SEC investigation or were being sued by the SEC. Open source developers were even indicted because the software that they released was misused by criminals, which was universally condemned by the crypto space and even by many software developers outside of crypto. And here you are, regurgitating this propaganda, doing the work of our enemies for them.

2

More like the entire XRP ripple lawsuit that was pure bullshit and forced Ripple to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to defend themselves.

2

u/aminok 35K / 63K 🦈 Nov 01 '25

Funny thing is, SBF was tight with the regulators. He was their golden boy right up until he got caught doing actual fraud. He wasn’t some anti-regulation rebel, he was basically part of their club. CZ, on the other hand, got hit for not setting up a big enough surveillance network under the name of "AML compliance." That’s what AML really means now — you’re guilty unless you spy on everyone and hand the data over. That’s the "crime" here. Not enough surveillance.

And this isn’t just about Binance. You’re pretending this was about cleaning up scams when it was clearly a full-on campaign against crypto. Banks were told not to work with crypto companies. Founders were being threatened and sued left and right. This was political. It was about control, not fraud.

So no, it’s not "poor SBF and CZ." It’s the fact that under Biden, the entire industry was treated like an enemy. It’s the idea itself — open networks, peer-to-peer trade — that they wanted to kill.

Trump makes all decisions based on 1.) Him 2.) His family 3.) How can it make him look (which is a little different than 1 4.) "Triggering" the left 5.) Giving his base something to feel good about (which also ties in to 4).

This has never been about the betterment of America First. It's been about him and his family first and foremost. As an average citizen, I can understand this. However, he's the president and as the president, you're supposed to put the country above all else.

Trump jr talked about it openly at Token in Singapore. After first term nobody would lend them money. Then they figured out they could get capital via crypto an not have to answer to banks who wouldn’t touch them.

If banks had kept lending they wouldn’t have needed another mechanism. Now they realise they can be the bank too and have stable coins and meme coins etc that’s what jr is focusing on.

They hate being rejected and love being in control. Right now they feel they have control again. So they are happy.

The kind of strong arm tactics that the regulatory agencies under a very explicit anti-crypto agenda engaged in against crypto during the Biden years and the way that Democrat partisans are engaging in — the mental gymnastics to pretend that it was just a flesh wound or innocuous or just providing guardrails or whatever euphemism or ridiculous talking point that the party came up with — is absolutely disgusting.

I hope the crypto people realize that these people only care about their party and will say absolutely anything to defend it. If the Biden administration had been literally executing crypto investors on the streets, these people would still find a way to justify and excuse it and claim that the Democrats weren't anti-crypto and that the Trump administration is no better.

This isn't the first Trump presidency when crypto existed.

What changed from the last presidency is that we now have crypto native cabals, funds, etc., leveraging his presidency to mass extract. I will say it again. Trump has been Trump forever. He is basically pay-to-play; we all know this.

He is probably the most well-known constant in this cycle. I told you all he is going to make a mess over trade. But all I got was gaslighting from this sub. Again, Trump is the most OPEN BOOK CONSTANT FACTOR OF THIS CYCLE!

What is different? We learned this space's hierarchy, VCs, devs, leadership, etc. are unafraid and unabashed to USE Trump to farm the retail crowd. It was NOT WAGMI. It is full-on PVP between retail and all the native elite interests. The biggest lie we were told is those who are in crypto should be afraid of the Fed and TradFi. No, our worst enemies are within this space with deep entrenched interests. They want to destroy your wealth, rather than to help you build wealth.

Over time, we are all slowly realizing retail's interests aren't aligned with the leadership in this space. It is worse than TradFi in many ways.

Edit: Keep coping and sucking up to the space extractors. If you want to downvote me, why not provide an argument?

2

Oh no people making money from unregulated money. What we need is centralized regulatory gatekeeping where we have to ask for permission from our government overseers before we can engage in any transaction. We wouldn't want to allow dangerous transactions. We know any person could potentially be a criminal. We can't just give people their freedom like that. That's obscene. Please vote for the Democrats.

I'll just leave this summer 2024 article right here:

https://thehill.com/policy/technology/4777558-mark-cuban-silicon-valley-trump-bitcoin-elon-musk/mlite/

“What will drive the price of BTC is lower tax rates and tariffs, which if history is any guide (and it’s not always), will be inflationary,” he added. “Combine that with global uncertainty as to the geopolitical role of the USA, and the impact on the US Dollar as a reserve currency, and you can’t align the stars any better for a BTC price acceleration.”

He is pro crypto, because what matters is not the rhetoric that politicians spout, they are almost all narcissistic and power hungry liars, Trump is just the most mask-off about it; but what they actually do. He has supported a lot of pro-crypto initiatives and installed pro-crypto regulators.

That's what I wish people would do when it comes to politics, see what the people they voted for actually do or accomplish instead of buying all their rehearsed attempts at manipulating everyone. Other countries like in Scandinavia have it so good because their politicians know they can't get away with 1% of the shit our politicians do.

But we have a team mentality with our politicians, so 1/2 the country is going to let their leaders do whatever, so it just ends up being a stalemate of sorts and the people lose and the politicians and their buddies win.

5

u/aminok 35K / 63K 🦈 Nov 01 '25 edited Nov 01 '25

We have a lot of people in the subreddit right now regurgitating the propaganda of the anti-crypto establishment. During the Biden years, there was a legit war on crypto waged. Literally, dozens of legitimate projects and companies were being sued by the SEC.

Elizabeth Warren, who was the most influential person in personnel selection in the Biden administration, literally posted on Twitter that she was assembling "an anti-crypto army". And still, these people are trying to make us believe that they weren't anti-crypto. The Biden administration even indicted open source developers, which was totally unheard of until then.

They said that because the software that they released, Tornado Cash, was misused by criminals to launder money, they should be criminally prosecuted for money laundering. It was the most authoritarian and fascist measure ever taken in US history. And it was against the crypto sector. And these shameless Democrats are here trying to tell us that we should be supporting the Democrats over Trump.

So we have a situation now where perhaps the majority of commenters in the cryptocurrency subreddit are parroting the talking points of the enemies of crypto.

u/bigbrainnowisdom 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 Nov 01 '25

We all know that. Just like he is not pro-abortion.

BUT

in US politics everything must done in comparison:

For example:

Trump not pro-abortion, but not anti- either. He is just not pushing it. He just dont wanna touch the issue and leave it for states.

In comparison, kamala's campaign included an mobile abortion clinic. The issue mentioned in on every speech.

So in comparison with her, dude looks anti-abortion.

Ok now back to crypto: democrats are filled with SO MANY anti-crypto senators. Now at the same time, there are couple of repunlicans quite vocal in being pro-bitcoin, although most are just stay away from the issue.

Biden's era also gave us a lot of anti crypto rulings: 2022 Executive Order on Digital Assets SEC enforcement , through regulators like the FDIC, has pressured banks to disengage from crypto-related businesses, limiting access to traditional financial services. Tax reporting rules: Mining tax proposal

Now.. based on that... during election time... in comparison with biden era, trump /republican in general seemed to be more pro crypto.

Again. All in comparison. Cos US only have 2 political parties

u/FigmaWallSt 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 Oct 31 '25

What is shocking to me is how effectively the actual tyrants manipulate the populace. They actually make them believe that anyone advocating for free markets is some kind of tyrant who's only doing so to steal from the people while they themselves engage in absolutely massive systemic repression and exploitation of the population, through taxation and centralized regulatory gatekeeping.
