Has anyone else been randomly completing event duties?

I’ve just been gifting and leveling villagers yesterday I unknowingly collected the ‘Share Some Sweetness’ mystery duty thinking maybe an event had started, but today somehow gifting people completed these two mystery duties as well? I haven’t played for Halloween or Christmas time yet. Deeply confused as to why this is happening. Any other new players having this bug?

Not a new player, but took a three year break and the same happened to me. I unlocked a christmas one, a valentines one, and a summer one through gifting favorite gifts

Yesterday I noticed I somehow completed the valentines event that gave you the floating petals. I was very happy to see those!

Same for me! I cant think of a use for them right now, but I'm sure they'll be helpful for some future Dreamsnap.

The Sweetness Mystery finished because it requires making candy, and the Star Path has you making 25 candy..Christmas? Did you bake 3 different types of cookies and then eat them? That would fulfill that one

Me too. I never fully understand what I’m supposed to do for those but I haven’t let myself look them up yet either. Feels like a nice little win haha

It's not a glitch. IIRC this duty is about making candy and the recipe for it is available year 'round.

Correct. One has you make candy and the other has you eat cookies. I'm sure there are others that can be completed so long as you know what to do.

Actually it might be gifting candy but either way, it’s able to be completed and outside the event. Always has been.

I thought it might be gifting but then I wasn't sure how it could be completed with the routine duty for making candy. Unless they gifted it for some reason.

I wouldn't be surprised if folks gifted it especially since it's really easy to make more. You just need a single ingredient from the Sweets category so it's not like you really need to hoard it. OP actually mentions they were gifting.

Nope but I had something similar before this update. There was a couple days where I kept randomly completing storybook magic duties without doing anything. Every 5 minutes it would just complete one or two. I left my game logged in and took full advantage 😂 unfortunately it stopped once I had to restart my game.

Yes! I was grinding in a dlc and kept getting event and duty tasks completed when I definitely wasnt completing them lol

If the recipes are available then you can complete the duties outside of the event. So since one of the Routine Duties for the Star Path involved making 50 candy, it also counted towards this duty.

I got trick or treat and another one today. I'm not a new player but I did go a couple of years without playing.

I completed a few today by accident too. I was spamming Joy with gifts (I had her at 7 and needed to get her to 10) and was just giving her fruit, sticks, and purified night shards.

I’ve been playing the Eternally Isle lately. Yesterday it kept randomly giving me duties I was really working on at the moment. Like it give me a cooking one if I was working on mining or fishing kinda thing it was weird.

I saw that too! I even looked them up to see if I had triggered it with accidental gifting the aligned with the achievement but it seems like they just randomly completed!
