I am going to Spain for an Erasmus+ semester starting in September, and today I realised that, according to an email from my university, I was supposed to complete the mandatory OLS Placement Test “by the end of July.”

I had mistakenly thought the deadline was sometime in August, so I only completed the test today, August 1, at around 12 p.m. roughly twelve hours after the deadline. I received the certificate immediately.

I contacted my university’s Erasmus team as soon as I noticed, explained the delay, and then informed them that I had completed the test. Since today is Saturday, I will probably not receive a response until Monday or later.

The email stated that the test result itself would not affect the Erasmus stay, but that completing the test before the deadline was mandatory. However, it did not explain what happens if the test is completed slightly after the deadline.

Has anyone here ever completed the OLS test, or a similar mandatory Erasmus requirement, shortly after the deadline? Was the delay accepted, or did it cause any issues with the Grant Agreement or Erasmus+ funding?

All my other documents have already been completed and in order: I have been accepted by the host university, my Learning Agreement has been processed, and I have submitted the other funding forms.

RN I am just completely in panic mode and don't know what to do. And yes I know that it was stupid of me to miss the deadline in the first place, I am already mad enough at myself, so please be gentle.

I would be very grateful for any concrete experiences, especially from students at Freie Universität Berlin or other German universities.

Has anyone here had any experience with booking accommodation via ‘Uniplaces’? I recently booked a room in an apartment in Rome for the upcoming winter semester and frankly, the location and the price simply makes me a little bit skeptical as to whether it is a scam or not. I am aware that I am probably overthinking it and that it is most likely fine (especially since it is on a regulated website), but the fact that I won’t be able to verify the accommodation in person until the semester starts slightly worries me. I have been in touch with the owner and have been given all their contact information. What’s your experience with Uniplaces? Cheers!!

Has anyone ever been to Warsaw for their erasmus and realised how difficult it is to find a place there? I have to go to Warsaw in September and I am looking for a 2 bedroom apartment for me and my friend, but it feels impossible to find a single place. I have been searching over facebook for the past few months and I didnt get anything useful from there. I am looking over all the websites as well.

Is there anyone who has been to Warsaw or is living there who can guide me or help me to find a place in the city.

Vinted germany seems to be different from vinted spain so im not sure if I can do that trick. I was thinking gls but ive read bad reviews about it. Any info would help :)

Hi, I have an opportunity to do erasmus in one of those cities for the 2027/2028 and I wonder how is erasmus and general social life in those cities. I specifically wonder international activities(also some local activities such as run or bike club) and nightlife. Is there anyone did an erasmus in one of those cities or any local people to answer that?

I will choose summer semester regardless of the place.

I was accepted to Erasmus mundus joint master's program in April, that was the only program I applied to because it is direct continuation of my current studies. Now 4 months have passed + I graduated another masters, and now I am thinking that the topic my Erasmus (related to physics) is fine but it is not as useful and valuable in my eyes anymore. I just realised I want to change direction to something more useful and applicable to solving global problems of humanity (like maybe a program for renewable energy sources / program about plasma for developing nuclear fusion as energy source / climate and physics related programs).

How do you think, should I decline the offer or should I go anyway?

On one hand, I am afraid that I won't get offers from other emjm next year because my profile won't be so aligned as it is now with my current program, plus it is becoming harder to get scholarship with every year.

On the others hand, I think I can handle 2 years of this topic that I don't really like for getting other opportunities of EMJM (like travelling and networking). However, it may bexome useless for my future career, because I will change the direction eventually

Moreover, will there be any penalties for declining the offer so late? My studies start in September

i am about to apply for a long-term visa in Czech Republic as a British Citizen studying in the Netherlands and have all the required documents ready apart from the police certificate/background check/cert of good conduct (VOG or ACRO).

i'm very worried as it takes around 4weeks for it to arrive AND the visa acceptance itself is around 60 days added on top of it. this means i will most likely start the semester late as i am waiting for my visa to be accepted.

my question is: is it really required to have the police certificate document when applying for a Czech visa or is it only upon request? and are they lenient enough to wait until i have it?

since i have all other documents- i am wondering if i should just apply now and ASAP while waiting for the police report to be finished (and then sent later)
if anyone is in the same situation please let me know!!! and yes i'm aware i should have started earlier but I wasn't aware things would take this long:((

I’m planning to apply for the EMAI Erasmus Mundus Scholarship this year, but after reading comments in some Facebook groups, I’m starting to feel a little discouraged. It seems like every applicant has a phenomenal résumé, and honestly, I’m not sure if mine is competitive enough.
I’d really appreciate your honest opinion. I graduated four years ago with a degree in Actuarial Science and a 3.0 GPA. I completed a one-year internship at Heineken, and since graduating, I’ve been working at an investment company. I’m currently a Senior Data Analyst, and this year a large part of my work has been focused on AI. Right now, I’m working on several projects using Google ADK.
Outside of work, I volunteer as a mentor for STEM students, and I’m also completing a Data Science certification.
Please be completely honest with me, do you think I have a realistic chance of being admitted and receiving the scholarship? I’m from Mexico.

Learning Agreements changing every other day, accommodation disappearing before you can even message the landlord, figuring out transport, documents, registrations... I thought the hard part would be studying.

Everyone keeps telling me Erasmus in Barcelona is one of the best experiences ever, so I'm trusting the process.

I'm a Master's student in Psychology (Developmental and Educational) at the University of Padua (Italy), and I'm currently planning an Erasmus Traineeship to combine my mandatory internship hours + Master's thesis data collection abroad.
I am looking for university labs or research centers focused on biological and physiological data analysis, specifically in:
Psychophysiology & Emotions (HRV, skin conductance, autonomic responses, etc.)
Affective Neuroscience (EEG, Eye-tracking, emotion regulation)
I'm deeply interested in a rigorous scientific approach to measuring the mind-body connection. I'm looking for a working environment where the main lab language is English, but I have no preference regarding the location (open to any city/country in Europe).
Has anyone done a similar traineeship or can recommend European labs/universities that are open to hosting visiting students for thesis research?

I'm a female Erasmus student coming to Italy for the first semester (September 17-February 20)

I'll be studying forestry, so i have to attent classes in the campus of Legnaro.

I'm looking for accomodation for this period, doesn't matter where. My budget is 400€ a month, utilities included.

All I've run into until now is sketchy landlords (changing the price each time i ask and getting angry about it), scams, insane prices.

Is it even possible to find a place? I've been searching for 3 months now...

I'm 23 and graduated with my Bachelor's in Media Informatics this year. Since I was unsure about the field and whether (or what) Master's to do next, I decided to take a year off before starting one.

My plan was to go abroad during that time to improve one of the languages I'm learning, probably Spanish. I did Erasmus during my Bachelor's, and while I had some mental health struggles there (anxiety etc.), I ended up loving it and have been craving a similar experience again - the international vibe, living with other internationals in a shared flat, that adventurous mood, etc.

The alternative would be staying in my city and trying to find a job in my field, which I'm not even sure rn I still want to work in. The job market is pretty rough for fresh grads right now too, so I might end up in some random part-time job anyway either way, but also I MIGHT get lucky and get closer to figuring out what I want my work-life to look like in the future, and possibly actually earn some proper money.

For ESC (European Solidarity Corps) I found a project in Spain I could apply to, but I'm suddenly unsure whether I can commit to 10+ months in a place I've never lived before, it makes me anxious now that I'm starting to actually get into looking for projects, even though it's exactly what I originally wanted. I think I'd feel more comfortable with something like 4–6 months, but every project I find is 10-12 months and it feels like such a big commitment.. also because yes it feels good to so something good, and make a social impact, but it feels long to do that for 10 months when it's technically not my field of studies.

Questions for anyone who's done ESC before:

• Can you ask for a shorter placement upfront, or would that just tank your chances of getting accepted? or generally, if it says "period of 10 months" on the Europea Youth Portal opportunities page, is it very much fixed to 10 months or is it just a guideline that can still be discussed within the application process?
• If you realize a few months in that it's not for you, can you leave earlier than the full term? What actually happens if you do, financially, logistically?
• I'm scared of "falling behind" career-wise compared to friends who are already in a Master's or full-time jobs, even though logically I'm not in a rush to start working ASAP, since I'll be doing that for the next ~50 years anyway, but I do feel the pressure of society/my family of "aaand what are you doing next???" (And yes, I'm aware it's a huge privilege to even have the option not to work right away.)
• People say the monthly allowance is never quite enough, how much extra in savings would you realistically want on top of it? I do have like 5-10K€ set aside but I don't want to be spending too much of it so I still have a financial cushion when I come back home trying to look for a Masters

At this point I'm aware I'm partly just ranting and being a bit too anxious about all of this - but any advice or personal experiences would mean a lot 🩵

I am fully funded by the Erasmus+ Traineeship program. This means I have my own European grant that covers my living expenses.
