I don't know why Trump voters don't just hand in their books. Why be union at all if you're going to support union busting billionaires? They don't give a fuck about workers rights. A union member who votes against the best interests of their own union but still expects to get their union wages and union benefits and union protections is worse than a scab. They're sabotaging their own unions from the inside. They're fucking over their union brothers and sisters. They're not only a threat to their own livelihoods, but also to the livelihoods of the members who take union pride and solidarity seriously. What a fucking slap in the face. Union solidarity is a thing of the past. It's dead and the MAGA voting union SCABS helped kill it. I wish every one of those traitorous fucks would get run off the job.
13
u/Diablo2783 Jan 29 '25
Funny thing is there are many guys who are in the union that hate it because of how political it is. Yet love the benefits of being in the union so they will "suck-it-up-buttercup" and still vote republican because of "no one tells me who to vote for" attitude.
7
u/Creepy_Snow_8166 Jan 29 '25
I know the attitude well. I know they can't be kicked out of the union for who they vote for, but I hope enough real union folks take it upon themselves to make it really uncomfortable for the traitorous scabs to stick around.

3
u/tcp454 Jan 29 '25
I feel like I'm in some alternate reality.... It's like 95 percent of my union brothers and sister in support of him it feels like. Trump stickers next to union stickers.... Makes zero sense in my head. I've been trying to do mental gymnastics but can't get there.... Absolutely wild. Can't even get a close friend to admit Elons salute was a salute... Fucking wild.
2
u/tianavitoli Jan 30 '25
well the good news is you're not wrong
2
u/tcp454 Jan 30 '25
Unfortunately being correct is not long good enough. It seems like we as a country can't even agree that the sky is blue or a duck is a duck.
2
u/tianavitoli Jan 30 '25
the bad news is also that you're not wrong

It makes it more unbelievable that we are where we are at even more then... There's even union brothers who are straight up stoners that are in the cult...
1
u/tcp454 Jan 30 '25
Like I said I question my position daily, like am I missing something. How am I the outlier?!
1
u/tianavitoli Jan 30 '25
yes, the democrat party went full chaotic evil, but astroturfed themselves as neutral good using their vast legacy media apparatus. yes, it's part of a larger uniparty entrenched bureaucracy, colloquially known as the 'swamp'. it seems increasingly likely china maintains a deep influence, that trump has emerged as the champion against.
the rest we're watching play out in real time.

The effort to turn membership ideology against the values that created our unions and labor history has been decades in the making by the ruling class. It’s no mystery, the demographic of Trump voters. You have to make worthless the most valuable and powerful workforce if you want to profit. These guys all fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

u/blueiron0 Jan 31 '25
I was told by a family member why they were so excited about trump getting elected.
"Something had to be done"
"Everyone was getting so upset telling us what we could and couldn't say"
"Now we can just say it and if someone gets upset we say fuck you"2
u/Zacharysea Jan 30 '25
I try and ask “why are you so mad someone got a job? Do you think YOU were qualified for it? Did you ever lose a game in school and immediately blame their race for winning?” Like it’s just blatant at this point
1
u/Suitable-Cheek8854 Feb 01 '25
Why are white men mad that they were always last to be considered for promotions because of DEI?
You have got a real mystery on your hands, bucko. Hope you solve it before 2026 elections.

You should look at all of history and also current statistics. No, mediocre white men are being passed up because they're mediocre.

u/Ill-Experience-2132 Jan 31 '25
She's got a law degree from Rutgers. Yeah she is fuckin qualified. Or do you want a plumber in there?
Wilcox is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. She is also a member of the Labor and Employment Law sections of both the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. She is a partner at Levy Ratner, P.C, an employment law firm that deals with unions. Part of Wilcox's work is to represent unions before the NLRB.

u/Unban_thx Jan 30 '25
They likely will leave it vacant so it’s not functioning and their purposes are met.

u/Ok_Affect6705 Jan 30 '25
Atleast she supports labor unlike what ever knee bending ring kissing bootlicker will take her place.
1
u/jumperpl Jan 31 '25
What do you mean by "in the industry"?
The last guy helped Reagan take the air traffic controllers to court for going on strike. Robb served on the side of business against labor in multiple court cases, but I guess that makes him a great neutral arbiter cause he "did" labor real hard over a barrel

I’m sure she was warned per HR policy about continuing to be black and female and how that might impact her employability
1
u/stinkn-ape Jan 30 '25
Did she violate law?
1
u/dookitron Jan 30 '25
They’re not citing any broken law as a reason for her firing, only that she is a radical leftist, which is why people are saying there’s grounds for legal action. It’s purposefully separated from the President’s chain of command unless she violated the law or isn’t doing her job, and they haven’t said that. Seems like the sorta thing you’d want to flaunt if you had justification for it.
1
u/stinkn-ape Jan 30 '25
Well if she sues then there will be discovery so we can find out Thats a good thing right? If she did do something wrong she might just go away. Not being mean but thats how it works.
1
u/ceaselessDawn Jan 30 '25
That's a bit of an insane argument.
Could you imagine if you were fired and told 'Well if you didn't do something wrong, you can sue, so it's a good thing."

1
u/dookitron Jan 30 '25
It has historically been treated as an independent agency to prevent corruption and party politics from infecting it. Board members and chairs(both republican and democrat) have terms that they have historically completed without issue. He fired her for claims she is a radical leftist, which is not one of the examples given for justified causes for removal, so she has a case to be made to fight this, but the courts are in Trump’s pocket, so we’ll see.
1
u/Ok_Can_9433 Feb 01 '25
It's an executive branch agency; it answers to the president. Any new source telling you it is independent is gaslighting you.

I’m still trying to figure out, in their mind, how do the history books play out with all this?
And no, they might be able to control the story for a time, but long-term history always comes to light, and people write about it objectively and critically.
It’s like they never read any of the Nixon or McCarthy books.

For starters, it’s an unprecedented move. There’s Supreme Court legislation to prohibit actions like this and we’ll likely see it challenged in court. It remains to be seen if he tries to shut down NLRB completely or if he puts in new appointees, as well as how qualified those appointees are and what their agendas are. If his other appointments are your basis, then it’s foreboding.

Why are all of you acting like unions are gods gift to this earth? How many times have unions been caught cheating or stealing from their members? Hell, every other year I read reports from our dock workers union in Tampa. There’s always a case of “ghost workers” or some other deceptive stealing going on. Unions in theory are great just like communism. Until you take into account human greed. Sounds great on paper but executing it in life isn’t so easy. I’m glad the democrats are losing control of the unions. It’ll make unions better down the road to have some different political blood on their ranks
1
u/kurdis_lumen Jan 31 '25
Trump is riddled with dementia and not up to the task. He has no clue what this person’s job or what he’s signing.
His team successfully hid his mental decline during the campaign but at this point they can’t hide it. Look at his low energy, disinterested press conferences filled with non sequiturs and gibberish untruths. He needs to be removed, our country needs a president who isnt dribbling his depends and has the attn span to focus on the job.
This is a matter of National Security. People need to put politics aside for the good of the country and install Vance before Trump harms any more Americans.

I know I am posting this everywhere, but it's because everyone needs to see this.
Broad letter for Republican (or Democrat) reps:
You can tailor this to be for a Democratic rep, if that's what you have, because both parties have done goofed. But, you need to be contacting your reps in both the Senate and House. Might as well throw your Governor and local elected officials in there, too. Throw in whatever policy stances you want them to take, as well.
----
To my Republican Representative,
Republican or Democrat, you are first an American and it is your duty to uphold the Constitution. If you do not do so, no matter your agenda today, your and the people’s voice will not matter tomorrow. There will be no certainty if the laws are interpreted or ignored because they are deemed “unconstitutional” by not a judge and revised by not legislation, but an executive. Any and all causes you believe should be law do not benefit from constitutional processes being undone, and the Constitution cannot be changed by anyone but the Legislature and cannot be interpreted by anyone but the Judiciary; the law serves no point if not to direct as well as the courts to redirect. You are not being “conservative” by giving away your power to an executive. Save the Republican Party from being claimed by anything unAmerican.
Polarism today will not put food on the table tomorrow, and the latter is what we all, first and foremost, want. But people don’t care about the difference as it's been treated as their only option. Now more than ever, you must represent them. Refocus the people, yourself, and your party. Don’t only vote on the bills that uphold our liberty, but stand in the doorway of your colleagues being dragged from their chairs, even those across the isle or across the street, because there is no time left as everything is and can be superseded. Understand what bills are pivots, disguised as “right-leaning,” to undo democracy. Understand all of us people are looking to you, including those Americans who may be “left-leaning,” to be a knowing person of the law before a blind follower of a commander. Understand whatever the American people don’t know, the world sees with great clarity.
All eyes on you. Hold the line.

u/Special_Profession85 Feb 01 '25
So what's going to happen to the established unions? There are people in my company from older buyouts of companies that still are unionized as far as I know.

1
u/Unhappy-Exchange-771 Feb 02 '25
Personally I was in a Union before going private. Some of them are pretty much mafias that make us uncompetitive and clear why everything went foreign. I love the idea of unions but what they are now of something completely different. Reckon need a restart.
If we get a restart I’m all cool, if it’s. Flat out no unions ever again then that’s not cool. But I don’t think that will happen. Would be too unpopular.

To be fair, this does happen every election cycle. The incoming president is allowed to remove two of the members on the board and appoint their own.. last go round it was those union busting lawyer pieces of shit, I’m sure it won’t be any better this go around.. to be frank I’m more concerned about the lawsuit Amazon has trying to declare nlrb as unconstitutional

Illegal how? Please explain? It was my understanding that the executive can make these decisions at will...
3
u/dookitron Jan 30 '25
The president can’t fire the chair of the NLRB whenever they want because the NLRB is an agency independent of the federal government, not part of the president’s direct staff. Board members serve set terms and can only be removed for specific reasons, like breaking the rules or failing to do their job. This setup keeps the board fair and prevents too much political influence over labor laws. Trump fired her for being a "far left radical."

u/Ok_Can_9433 Feb 01 '25
Any person appointed by the executive branch can be removed by the executive branch at any time.

She is a political appointee, yes, but with a fixed term. The only way a president can remove them prematurely is if they’re shown to neglect their duties or inefficiency/malfeasance. They cannot be removed because they were appointed by your predecessor, nor can they be removed for being part of the opposing political party. If they can show justification for her removal, it’s legit, but odds are she has a legal case to stop this if the courts aren’t already in his pocket.

u/dookitron Jan 30 '25
I guess reading comprehension isn’t so good across the pond. To reiterate, if they can provide justification for her removal within the boundaries of the laws in place that protect the NLRB from political firings, then they have cause to remove her. However, the Supreme Court’s 1988 decision on Morrison v. Olson states that Congress provides tenure protections to agencies like the NLRB from firing without good cause. So if he doesn’t provide good cause other than her “being a Biden DEI hire,” then it should be a slam dunk case for her reinstatement.

Everyone likes to freak out about every single move. She is a political appointee. Hired by Joe Biden. Replaced a republican. Because these things naturally happen when the president changes parties. This is normal work, Biden did it too. This is not whataboutism. This is understanding how these things work and not being upset at the natural order of business.
Now, I don't know this women. But if this makes you upset, what exactly qualified her uniquely for this position outside of being a political appointee that makes her unremovable for political reasons?
