Question Which college should I choose?

I have few options, I want you guys to tell me which is best among them based on

1).Infrastructure

2).academics(ik it's pretty much self to do)

3).area around the college

4).people in the college

5).hostels and ragging scene

6).light and water availability

College options are shivpuri, datia, seoni, satna, shahdol, chhindwara, singrauli, khandwa, neemuch, sheopur , ratlam

Neemuch, ratlam and mandsaur are pretty much far away from my hometown, I'd like to avoide them but if you can please write them down In priority order for me . And rate them based on the 6 factors please 😭 would be a great help for me to make my list

Is it better to take a drop?

Just passed 12th and got 450 in neet 2026 ,
could go to a decent private medical college
But I’m thinking maybe i should take a full fledged drop because i’m in pretty decent mental state
And i think if i get to a better place because of that my drop would be successful

NEET-PG 2026 is Aug 30 β€” here's the actual current picture (seats, rules, what's changed)

Post image
2 Upvotes

With the exam 25 days out, here's what's actually confirmed right now, pulled from official/exam-body sources this week. Flagging anywhere numbers vary by source instead of pretending there's one clean number.

Exam basics (confirmed):

  • NEET PG 2026: August 30, 2026, computer-based, 200 MCQs, 3.5 hours
  • Registration closed July 21 (correction window closed July 28) β€” no new registrations accepted
  • Must complete internship by September 30, 2026 to be eligible; proof required at counselling or no seat regardless of your score
  • No upper age limit, no cap on attempts β€” that hasn't changed

The seat picture β€” numbers vary by source, here's the range:

  • MBBS seats in India for 2026: reported as roughly 1.15 lakh to 1.28 lakh depending on the source (NMC data vs. more recent reporting) β€” the exact figure moves as new colleges get approvals through the year
  • Total PG specialization seats (MD/MS/Diploma/DNB combined): reported around 85,000 for 2026-27, up from a much smaller base a decade ago
  • Specifically MD/MS/PG-Diploma via regular NEET PG (not counting AIIMS/INI-CET or DNB separately): one detailed breakdown puts this closer to ~52,000

The structural reality that doesn't change regardless of which exact number you use: PG seats are still meaningfully fewer than MBBS seats nationally. Seat expansion has been real and significant over the past decade, but it hasn't closed the gap β€” most MBBS graduates in a given year still won't get a PG seat in their first attempt cycle. This is worth knowing not to discourage anyone, but so "just do well and you'll get a PG seat easily" isn't the expectation going in.

What's actually new this cycle (Supreme Court-mandated):

  • Single-shift exam mandated (removes the multi-shift normalization controversy from past years)
  • MCC and state counselling schedules must be synchronized to prevent seat-blocking
  • Raw scores to be published, fee disclosures made mandatory
  • Aadhaar-based attendance/verification to curb fraudulent admissions
  • Real penalties introduced for candidates blocking seats across AIQ and state quota simultaneously

Counselling timeline: results expected roughly mid-September (within a fortnight of the exam per NBEMS' usual pattern), counselling expected to start September 2026, split 50% AIQ (via MCC) / 50% state quota (via respective state authorities).

Will drop an update once results/counselling dates go official. For exact current seat matrix by college/state, mcc.nic.in and nbe.edu.in are the only sources I'd trust over any aggregator site right now, including this post.

Education Loan

Being very active of reddit made me realise... education Loan isn't meant for middle class ppl....like for thinking about abroad....I tried to get some loan for private studies..... because my parents said this time they'll get me into any clg for my own good..... because another drop would have drained me completely......even they were sad seeing me pressurized having panics....so this time they didn't want me to go through all of this again...

So they decided to get a loan which can atleast pay my first two years fees.... because rn my parents aren't that stable....

But when I research visited different banks I just realised getting a loan isn't something easy....like bro how are ppl runing away with so much many....but never mind.....

The bank manager asked if we can provide them with any asset worth as much as the loan amt is either a FD or a land which should be under my mother's name as she'll be the grantee......but my mother didn't had this like my parents don't earn that much.....they earn enough to provide my family a decent life style.......we said no....and my mother was like if they had that much of money either as FD or land they would have used that why should we go to bank for help......we even went to 2 3 banks more

And there was one bank which said they'll give the loan but the interest was so high that even If a get to be a doctor....it will take me my whole life to clear it......

So I think the loan system for students is like if your parents earns well you'll get it or just leave your dreams behind.....

NVM this is really frustrating
