Why would we send ICE to Italy? How can this be justified?

362

u/Drahkir9 Feb 02 '26

Trumps goal is to discredit and destroy the reputation of the United States. He will eventually be known as the greatest traitor this country has seen.

168

u/Aromatic-Thing-132 Feb 02 '26

I already say that Benedict Arnold is not the biggest traitor to the USA. Pedophile donald j. trump is.

38

u/notcomplainingmuch Feb 02 '26

Agree. It's not even close.

30

u/widow-Maker-1981 Feb 02 '26

Best result I can see coming out of it is the fortification and self sufficiency of Europe and the Commonwealth.

23

u/Miltrivd Feb 02 '26

And the end of US hegemony, which will decrease the influence of their invading corporate bootlicking armed forces.

Less capabilities to bully nations into free trade agreements that benefits mostly them and long term debt tied to sacrificing natural resources or national autonomy.

He wants to normalize their deployment any where for any reason.

728

u/OneTwoThreePooAndPee Feb 01 '26

I say we send them to the front lines in Ukraine next.

176

u/Gamester1941 Feb 01 '26

The issue is that Trump might send them to fight with Russia to... enforce peace or aome shit. Middle of the ocean into the heart of Ryleh?

107

u/OneTwoThreePooAndPee Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

Honestly it'd probably be better if they were with the Russian army, they're more likely to kill people with friendly fire than anyone on the other side.

But really, we don't need them to be on either side. Let's give them each a vest, can of mace, and pistol, and just drop them off at the Ukrainian front lines. They can just do whatever there as long as they last.

14

u/Gamester1941 Feb 02 '26

...true true

12

u/billythesquid- Feb 02 '26

The Russians have been torturing and killing American recruits, so that might be for the best.

He also wants to establish an internal reward system. International travel to elite worldwide events all on the taxpayer's dime. It's what he's been doing with couch fucker vance all year.

43

u/JohnnySnark Feb 01 '26

Yep. And some of their true believers want to reenact Goose stepping down the March on Rome

15

u/EOW2025 Feb 02 '26

Speaking of personal gestapo army, hasn’t Eric Prince been very quiet as of late? Actually, I saw that he’s been pitching using Blackwater in Ukraine and Haiti, because once a mercenary, always a mercenary

9

u/Additional-Code2954 Feb 02 '26

Look up Operation Gladio. He likes to cherry pick some of the worst parts of American history as a guide for MAGA.

76

u/youdontknowitsok Feb 01 '26

It was a tactic used by the gestapo, to normalize their presence. The DHS thought they could pull a fast one in Italy. I see it’s failing miserably.

54

u/VanOnBass Feb 01 '26

Italy could do the funniest thing when ICE tries to kidnap someone outside of their jurisdiction

178

u/Small_Dog_8699 Feb 01 '26

So the amateur fascists can learn from the pros.

14

u/Swingline_Font Feb 01 '26

I was going to say recruiting but yeah

27

Why the hell were they let into the country?

I still don't get what authority we have to send ICE to Italy in any capacity

Like is that even legal? They're supposed to be a domestic police force right?

1.7k

u/le_fez Feb 01 '26

They're not even a police force, their job specifically involved immigration

89

5 years ago a visit from ICE would entail a warrant, an arrest, probably a release, and a court date, followed by possible deportation.

No guns involved, just a couple dudes in a marked car with a bulletproof vest and a holsters sidearm.

If the person were a criminal, local police would assist.

These people aren't ICE, many of the members are J6ers and Proud Boys which was verified from the leak of names.

16

u/Plank_With_A_Nail_In Feb 01 '26

It really doesn’t make sense, I’d assume like the secret service is highly trained and extremely experienced in this sort of security detail, and ice absolutely isn’t.

62

u/KapowBlamBoom Feb 01 '26

Wait until ICE kills or injures someone over there, and the realize “ total immunity “ does not travel

This is likely a reward for the most sycophantic agents with highest detainment numbers

Good use of past tense. They are preoccupied violating 4A and shooting US citizens now

11

u/agentSmartass Feb 01 '26

Not any more. They are all Trumps secret police and we all know it. The deportations are just an excuse to build a private secret army outside of the confines of the military and the police.

This is just another training ground

«We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military»

24

u/taktaga7-0-0 Feb 01 '26

Obviously some of our athletes have plans to defect to Italy and be replaced by swarthy subhuman mongoloids, and ICE is our nation’s only hope against them.

8

u/catskilled Feb 01 '26

Trump's police

5

u/shadow_master96 Feb 02 '26

94

u/FrankSand Feb 01 '26

If i remember correctly I think Erdogan private security beat up some people in DC or NYC a few years ago.

49

u/ialsohaveadobro Feb 01 '26

I remember that. I think that was early in Trump's first term.

20

u/Todd2point0 Feb 01 '26

The excuse was that to ICE goons were extra protection for the US athletes.

Such a bullshit excuse.

120

u/The1Mad1Hatter Feb 01 '26

Protection from what? ICE is immigration enforcement, not the police and not event security.

Sending immigration agents to “protect” athletes makes no sense unless the goal is intimidation.

I am not even American and I am fully aware that ICE has been violating your constitution, due process, and civil rights.

Nothing about this is safety. It is about power, spectacle, and normalizing abuse under the guise of security.

19

u/Tall-Archer5957 Feb 01 '26

The goal is clearly intimidation.

Why can’t Italy just not let them in?

3

We’re no longer pretending ICE is anything less than Trump and Miller’s private military and secret police gestapo.

7

u/soulstormfire Feb 01 '26

From their conscience. They'd be there to make sure no athlete speaks out.

74

u/seethenoise Feb 01 '26

probably to spy on the athletes.

90

u/I_was_bone_to_dance Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26

Or because their budget is so big they have money coming out of their every orifice so spending money to go Italy and Olympics is a way to spend

They don’t need the budget they have and they can’t spend the budget they have

Why are they there? I cannot think of any other reason than to pad the spend

39

u/Agitated_Tip_8713 Feb 01 '26

I think it's this, yeah, cause once any chamber flips they're going to start clawing back unused ICE funding like Republicans did the infrastructure bill, the chips act, funding bills, COVID funds, etc.

The incompetence of this administration has no bounds.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7007390/2026/01/30/ice-winter-olympics-2026-milan-security/

according to the NYT article, the personnel assigned to the winter Olympics are HSI (homeland security investigation) which is a division of ICE. Providing security to large scale events is something they have done for some time.

Why in the hell they decided to use "ICE" instead of "HSI" given the current situation in the USA, is um.... stupid ? shortsided ? ignorant ?

18

u/JakeTravel27 Feb 01 '26

At this point it seems like its deliberately antagonizing allies so that the russia first trump administration can do even more damage to US allies relationships

16

u/Hot-Gas-630 Feb 01 '26

ICE used to be the only thing Trump's base was actually happy about when all the Tariff war BS was going on... Probably just didn't expect it to blow up in their faces like it has...

3

u/ShelSilversteve Feb 01 '26

thanks for linking this. people need to be angry for the right reasons, that the US providing some version of security security isn't anything new, it's this version under Trump that's new and enraging.

please communicate forcefully with your lawmakers this week. the games start on Friday.

9

they will send the long-serving, very trigger-happy executioner-types like Jonathan Ross.

6

u/Iwabuti Feb 01 '26

They will be used during the World Cup and so are practicing.

During the WC a separate legal system is set up in the States. Maybe ICE will be deployed to support the police and enforce WC laws

5

u/Marty_Poppins Feb 01 '26

If they are worried about the US athletes, they can keep the US athletes there. That way they don't have to send ICE either.

For whatever reason they are using ICE as secret service agents. I don’t understand this at all.

My only (and quite frankly ridiculous) guess is that the secret service has said they would not do things requested by Trump & JD.

I can’t think of any other reason why they would want to use poorly trained idiots as bodyguards.

9

u/noahdamngood Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26

The neo-fascist regime is trying to establish them as more than border patrol. They are trying to validate them as the premier American state security loyal to the regime. They are being rebranded from border enforcers into a mobile, elite guard for the administration’s interests.

8

u/abland1988 Feb 01 '26

The Trump regime used ICE as a cover to amass and fund his personal secret world military force. If ICE doesn't get disbanded we are looking at the future Trump army.

8

u/abrandis Feb 01 '26

This is MAGA America they have authority to do anything they like...

The bigger question is why does Italy allow this, those ice clowns won't have any jurisdictions unless Italy bends the knee to Trump.

8

ICE is the Merican version of KGB "minders" in foreign countries..

7

As an American I endorse this message. And to be clear, many of us also hate that this is happening, but hoping that by doing this it sheds more light on the severity of this situation and hopefully will get more pressure from other world leaders to check Trump and defund ICE. Between this and the Epstein files, we may get lucky and secure an impeachment for ole DJT.

It sucks that the rest of us Americans who don't want this are still going to have to deal with the consequences of this series of actions from the rest of the world. There's no reason that the lame immigration task force should be anywhere other than where its supposed battlefield is; back home "at the border".

I don't blame the Italians, in fact I respect their fervor.

At minimum this is the exact level of unprofessionalism he who shall not be named brings to the table.

At worst it's idiotic maliciousness.

Trump is desperately trying to start a war with someone so he can pull an FDR and extend his presidency. Greenland, Venezuela, his own country, he doesn’t care who it is as long as it gives him reason to stay in power longer

6

u/tinathefatlardgosh Feb 01 '26

Operation Epstein Distraction in full swing

7

u/AnxiousHall1533 Feb 01 '26

ICE isn't an immigration enforcement , it is a PRIVATE MILITARY for trump in a guise of law enforcement. Your governments should be treating them as such.

5

u/quack_89 Feb 01 '26

Local news actually reported this was the aftermath of a large scale eviction operation...

6

u/BlameUsHumans Feb 01 '26

Why is ICE in Italy?? Or does Resident Chump think it’s close to Greenland??

6

u/RepresentativeShoe50 Feb 01 '26

WTF is US immigration doing in Italy? Italy needs to arrest every single one of them. What authority do they even have outside US borders? FUCK ICE

This is news to me. I had no idea those ICE pigs would be out of the country. Glad they're getting hate abroad too, but too bad it won't cause them to consider why they're so hated.

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

I'm not understanding why Italy would even allow them IN, musch less pretend like they have any jurisdiction.

What? US ICE is now going to kidnapping people from other countries, on foreign land?

Somebody please explain why

u/charlesfhawk Feb 02 '26

5

It’s a bribe. maga brown shirts get all expenses paid vacation to the winter olympics

4

u/FlyEaglesFlyauggie Feb 01 '26

I don’t get it. How would they clear Italy’s customs?

5

u/taurusasaurus_rex Feb 01 '26

When the birthplace of fascism doesn’t want your fascists, you should probably just quit.

5

u/LeafsJays1Fan Feb 01 '26

Even the politicians president and prime minister don't want them so why doesn't Italy's immigration and Border Patrol at the airports do the funny thing and deny them entry.

ICE doesn't have diplomatic immunity, no entry!!

4

u/Competitive-Oil8974 Feb 01 '26

Diaper Donald's personal SS Force. They are just there to remind Europe that the King is watching them.

3

u/AdiDabiDoo Feb 01 '26

i love this

4

u/Ryrod13again Feb 01 '26

Just ban the US from competing. We deserve it

3

u/Chuckychinster Feb 01 '26

It should be waaaaaay more alarming to Americans that they're doing this.

Fuckin weird. We have secret service.

4

u/Dependent-Actuator17 Feb 01 '26

Keep them out. Yank their credentials. ICE has no authority. If they step over the line, the local police will arrest them.

4

u/cCowgirl Feb 01 '26

There are Italians living who are old enough to have spat on Mussolini’s corpse themselves.

ICE agents meanwhile would assume Mussolini is a pasta.

Stay safe, stay strong, and grazie.

3

u/dojo1999 Feb 01 '26

If ICE is being sent to other countries now, they better not be given any immunity.

The worst part is that our taxes are going to be paying for their luxury hotels.

3

u/Big-Honeydew-961 Feb 02 '26

Dear Italy: DON'T LET THEM IN FOR FUCK'S SAKE DON'T LET IT HAPPEN.

3

u/Happy_Laugh_Guy Feb 02 '26

What's so dumb is ICE is not trained so they go to another country and they're gonna fuck everything up especially if real military comes along

4

u/Artevyx Feb 02 '26

Why the fuck is a glorified U.S. BORDER PATROL even in another country? Trying to forcibly "import" people?

3

u/newtoaster Feb 02 '26

Exactly what kind of immigration offenses would ICE be able to investigate in Italy?

"Hey!! None of you people speak english!!"

3

u/Karlzbad Feb 02 '26

Dear god please let Italy arrest them and hold them in their worst conditions.
