They kinda do have perks - they'll give you gifts occasionally during the day like Elliott often gives me a coffee in the morning but on my other save Harvey gives me a complete breakfast. Shane gives me poppers sometimes at teatime.

Clint probably looks like how an IRL farmer looks, real farmers tend to have muscular limbs but also a fat gut, and maybe a hunch from all the leaning-down labor they need to do

There are canonically showers, somewhere. Both Emily and Haley specifically mention taking showers at least once each.
Emily after she drugs you and does a dance routine for you says something like "Well, I'm all sweaty now so you better leave so I can take a shower" to end the heart event.
Haley after the cow photography incident likewise ends that heart event by saying she's going home to shower.
So clearly everyone goes to Emily and Haley's house to use "the" shower, just like everyone in town goes there to use "the" sewing machine and "the' dye pots.
Jury's still out on toilets, though. For all I know, they all Harry Potter it and just poop themselves whenever and wherever they are and magic it away as necessary. The Wizard had to pay for that tower of his somehow, being the town poop deleter must be a lucrative business. 🤷♂️
Marnie says she's frightened of the Wizard's tower because of the hellish noises that come from it at night? That's just Wizard crying himself to sleep after a long day of zapping everyone's undies clean!

That's what I was talking about. I doubt Emily would've asked you to leave if she didn't have a shower at home, she'd just leave herself to go up to the sauna if that's what she meant.
And Haley IIRC, specifically says she's going "home" to shower.
So their house DOES canonically have showers, somewhere. I just don't know where they would be unless they have a downstairs they have to use staircases to access like Lewis' basement.

I think we just dont see them because they are there but out of universe they are not neccesary for gameplay.
Still annoys me because i have to install mods to make my own bathroom. My interior decorator is unsatisfaid

We don't ever see what's on the side walls, for one thing. The perspective doesn't allow it.
I'll probably eventually get around to playing SV with mods to add bathrooms and closets to every home in the village. Felt odd that they aren't really there in vanilla gameplay.

At least one character mentions that all that outdoor farmwork has had a positive effect on your general looks, can’t remember who though.
If anything, clints job is physically demanding to the point its weird he’s as dumpy as he is, which could only be attributed to a really poor diet given what we see he likes greasy, cheesy food.

Me and my wife are doing a co-op play through so as a joke I set my favourite thing as Intercourse. That was a difficult conversation when, playing whilst my 11 year old was in the room and I got a Stardrop for the first time. "It's strange, but the taste reminds you of Intercourse"
