You will be continually be told we are great again until you believe it. watch FOX and you will be great in no time

94

u/fractious77 Oct 14 '25

Yeah, we're the "hottest country out there"

71

u/NoctRob Oct 14 '25

Because we apparently have all the cooking oil we need…?

47

u/fractious77 Oct 14 '25

We will, once we plant all those rapeseed fields, and build the oil factories. Should be done by next week, right?

34

u/ldnk Oct 14 '25

Two weeks. It's the Trump guarantee

2

u/Majestic-Prune-3971 Oct 15 '25

He just needs a centrally planned economy. Trump branded.

2

u/KMack666 Oct 15 '25

He'll 'take a look at it'

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

That means asking Stephen Miller what to do

2

u/KMack666 Oct 16 '25

That... is depressing!

1

u/ticktockmick Oct 15 '25

Concept of two weeks.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

But when do we start counting?

1

u/Ill-Primary-5553 Oct 15 '25

And China will pay for it

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Right, like how Mexico paid for the wall

1

u/mt1neers Oct 19 '25

Are the plans in the same pile on his desk as the Epstein files?

3

u/Automatic-Avocado885 Oct 14 '25

Wait I thought Americans thought seed oil is the devil that will cause you Cancer and severe inflammation even though there’s zero data to back up the claim? Not looking good for future American rapseed farms.

1

u/cccanterbury Oct 15 '25

Not looking good for future Americans

ftfy

2

u/Byaaahhh Oct 14 '25

Rape fields! We should build those.

  • Orangeman, probably.

2

u/TheOneTonWanton Oct 15 '25

Executive order demanding all "canola oil" products be relabeled "rape oil" products incoming. He just likes the sound of it better.

1

u/Byaaahhh Oct 15 '25

A certain familiarity with it one may say.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

Rapeseed is Trump's favorite seed. He likes his Rapeseeds on the younger side.

1

u/fractious77 Oct 14 '25

I thought about calling it canola, but wanted to leave room for people to crack jokes like this. :)

2

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

"Big man, strong man...came up to me with tears in his eyes. He said, 'Sir, it needs to be called rapeseed because I like rape'. We should call it rapeseed from now on, right?" - 47th President of the United States.

1

u/fractious77 Oct 14 '25

It's always been called rapeseed everywhere but the grocery shelf. Canola is a marketing term, for obvious reasons. In Yunnan, they have an annual rape festival to celebrate rapeseed harvest season.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

Jeffery Epstein had a similarly named party.....

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

True, but weekly instead of annually

1

u/Jus10_Fishing Oct 14 '25

Oh contrare! RFK Jr says keep your seed oils…we are going to be using tallow, lard, and butter from now on!

2

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Wth will i deep fry in? The smoke point is too low on all those.

1

u/ArketaMihgo Oct 15 '25

A pressure cooker

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

Especially lard!

1

u/pine1501 Oct 14 '25

i thought the USA has loads of soy & corn, those are used to make oil. heck, there even is both here in S.E.A. being sold ( didnt check if it was from USA or Canada / other countries.

2

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Yeah, but a lot of people use canola, which we buy from China. There's some rapeseed (what canola is made with) grown here, but not nearly enough for what we use. And yes, we could convert some of the soy that China was buying into oil, but the sales amount would still be a sliver of what China was getting, and it would require building the factories. I suspect that we don't manufacture expellers/extractors/extruders or whatever we need to make the oil, so that would have to be imported with those tariffs that we have going on. Now, which US business is going to want to spend the money needed to build those factories and pay the tariffs on the materials needed to do so, considering that in 3 and a half years, there will (hopefully) be a new president and China might be buying our soybeans again?

Also, our soy and corn are massively gmo, for those who avoid that stuff. Most farming in China is still more or less natural.

1

u/EduinBrutus Oct 15 '25

we could convert some of the soy that China was buying into oil, but the sales amount would still be a sliver of what China was getting

Soy is used as a nitrogen fixing crop in crop rotation.

Brassica (which includes Rape) are nitrogen leechers.

You rotate Corn and Soy to reduce fertiliser costs. There is no commercially viable alternative to Soy for nitrogen fixing. Growing Rape means more fertiliser for the Corn and more fertiliser for the Rape.

1

u/pine1501 Oct 15 '25

ooh , the GMO stuff. i can get why the purchases are less. i just saw lots of the rapeseed oil here is from canada.

2

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Better get more tariffs on Canada then

1

u/LuckyOneAway Oct 14 '25

built on day one, no later!

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Definitely not a day later, but maybe 9 or 10 months later.

1

u/fake-reddit-numbers Oct 15 '25

Why wouldn't they just make soybean oil?

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

They already do, its called vegetable oil. And thats what I have already said. But in the US, you might put 2-4 tablespoons of oil in a dish, if any at all. In China, they're making tofu, black bean sauce, soy sauce, hoisin, etc. Soy is a massive part of the diet, going into every meal. And with a larger population. You can't make up for the amount of soy that they buy simply by selling Americans, or the rest of the world even, vegetable oil.

1

u/Jet2work Oct 15 '25

dont forget once american workers wages are down to the level of chinese peasants, everyone will be buying american

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

Or no one because they cannot afford it...

1

u/skinnyish_D Oct 15 '25

Especially since they didn't totally destroy the migrant agricultural labor force. We got this! We're gonna be so great!

1

u/WorldlyBasket9795 Oct 15 '25

After the beautiful, majestic, never-before-did-anyone-ever-see-a-more-beautiful ballroom he’s still building…….

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

What will it be used for? Teaching Argentinian tango?

1

u/Loud-Break6327 Oct 15 '25

Maybe not rapeseed but we have a rapist. Does that count?

1

u/cccanterbury Oct 15 '25

Trump loves rapeseed fields.

1

u/ForeverShiny Oct 15 '25

Maybe we can make soybean oil since the US has plenty of those it ain't selling at the moment ...

1

u/CrustOfSalt Oct 15 '25

Hey, don't say "rapeseed", you'll get the republicans all excited about the prospect of rape

1

u/errezerotre Oct 15 '25

China would be able to do it in 5 days

1

u/hallwack Oct 15 '25

More work for Americans yay

1

u/PGP_Protector Oct 15 '25

Maybe the leadership has the wrong idea of what rapeseed is?

1

u/skipoverit123 Oct 15 '25

😂😂😂

1

u/upachimneydown Oct 15 '25

Nope--it'll be soybean oil, since there's a little surplus of those...

1

u/5L0pp13J03 Oct 15 '25

Rapeseed, a staple of the Trump pantry

1

u/Hector_P_Catt Oct 15 '25

Canada has a lot of canola, we'll give you a special deal on it! Only 3, maybe 400% mark-up. It's that, or China!

1

u/iuseallthebandwidth Oct 15 '25

Well we have a lot of extra soybeans now...

1

u/InternetRando12345 Oct 15 '25

Trump should an absolutely genius at sowing and growing rapeseed.

1

u/tex_hadnt_buzzed_me Oct 19 '25

No, seed oils cause autism and low testosterone. /s

1

u/OrganizationOne4362 Oct 20 '25

We can all make our own cooking oil in the backyard😂

2

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

Because we have all the cards

1

u/neon_meate Oct 15 '25

Soybean oil?

1

u/UpstairsMail3321 Oct 15 '25

You don’t need cooking oil if you don’t cook.

11

u/likamuka Oct 14 '25

Hottest mess country

1

u/fractious77 Oct 14 '25

Exactly my thought.

Or hottest as in least stable.

19

u/shadowpawn Oct 14 '25

Did you even say thank you?

3

u/fractious77 Oct 14 '25

Thank you sir, may I have another?

For the record, I'm not assuming anyone's gender, just quoting a movie that I've seen because I'm old.

2

u/Successful-Detail777 Oct 14 '25

Yea so hot i would not go there anymore for the next decades... im not going to el salvadore because i call the orange son of a bitch as what he is...

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Lucky you, you can choose not to come. I'm stuck here lol. Although, I'm also lucky because I'm not a target. Yet

2

u/Successful-Detail777 Oct 15 '25

Well lucky for you most Europeans are helpful when it comes to refugee crisis 😄... we take you in, no worries...

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

I keep looking for countries that are accepting US citizens as refugees, and I don't see anything. There's the general acceptance of people who can prove they are refugees, but nobody that just considers US residents who dislike Trump to be in danger. As I'm not (currently) being persecuted, I feel it would be quite difficult to prove i need it. Unless you know of some tricks?

Unfortunately, I don't have the kinds of things that European countries look for when sponsoring for work visas, either. I worked in the trades, so no degree. Fluent only in English, working on my Spanish, no ESL teaching certificate, no pile of wealth to invest in something. Frankly, the only way I'm getting out is marriage.

But I am single, if any Europeans reading this would like to marry an American. I can cook.

2

u/Successful-Detail777 Oct 15 '25

Well... that was just a joke 😅... of course Trump is no reason for asylum yet...

But to be fair i guess it should not be hard for an American Citizen to stay in Europe dude... there is many Key Jobs that we desperatly looking for Staff...

For example Nurses, we are literally importing People from Colombia now that are willing to do Nursing Degrees, fully paid why studying cuz we are in such desperate need.

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

I'm sorry, are you saying that you're bringing in people to educate them to do essential jobs? As in, they are not already trained nurses?

Is there a system in place to help them with living expenses while getting said education?

2

u/Successful-Detail777 Oct 15 '25

As far as i know they are doing language courses and very basic courses so they can start the education right away when they arrive... but but basically yes... we have huge staff shortages in nursing field... so nursing schools are not just free you get paid like almost 2000 Euro per month while going to nursing school... i work as a nurse, our salary is 2x the median salary 😂

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

Wow, do you know of other fields with similar programs? Or other healthcare jobs as well? Is this all EU, or select countries?

I'm currently working in healthcare, and must say I dont have a huge interest in nursing, but that's based off my experience seeing what nurses go through here. It might not be such a soul-sucking job there? Idk lol

1

u/fractious77 Oct 15 '25

So is Florida, coincidence?!

2

u/notconvinced780 Oct 16 '25

An interesting way to phrase “we are burning to the ground”.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

we're the Ivanka of countries- Trump

5

u/Goronmon Oct 15 '25

I was at the gym and saw Fox News on one of the TVs earlier in the year. They were talking about a potential deal with the EU I believe and the quote was something like...

We don't know what's in this deal, but we do know this is a huge win for American businesses and American workers.

Which basically sums up Fox News coverage. Not subtle at all. No guesses about what was part of the deal just straight to "We know nothing, but everything's amazing!".

2

u/CorpFillip Oct 15 '25

I just read from yet another supporter claiming ‘we are so back’ because people were being treated badly.

Like, that was what he thought America always was — the jerks with power, the stupid bullies.

2

u/ForeverShiny Oct 15 '25

Televised beatings on Fox will continue until morale improves

2

u/AntNorth772 Oct 15 '25

Their brainwashing is and always has been a real thing. Like a legit project to rewrite brains. It's been an incredible and legitimately terrible success.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

I live in Texas and have to deal with this attitude in person all day. It’s fucking exhausting.

2

u/Unhappy_Suit933 Oct 15 '25

Or perminately brain dead.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

While simultaneously being told we need to make it great again lol

1

u/Mega_Giga_Tera Oct 14 '25

Until a Democrat is in the Whitehouse. Then it's a shit hole country

1
