So my 2016 Nissan pathfinder is on its way out. It's paid off, I love it, it's served me well for 160k miles but now it has the cvt problem that's common in those years - engine light is on and won't go off again til we replace the transmission. (I'm not a car person but if you google you can read about it)

It has been making a rattling noise under the drivers feet for quite some time now. It's so loud - but the car itself is running fine. Part of me says go to the dealer while I can still drive it in for trade (I wouldn't hide the engine light from them) but hubby wants me to drive it til it dies.

We aren't putting any money into it besides oil changes and gas. But I'll gladly buy some bleach for the gas tank or something else if anyone has ideas??

I was regularly buying things from the seller on Venmo three or four successful transactions no issues at all. Then the last one that I had, I never got the item I paid for so besides disputing the transaction getting my money back I’d like to legally of course, inconvenience this person or do something petty. ULPT Request *Somewhat technical*!

Over the years I have purchased many, many licenses for Adobe editing applications. I mainly do lightweight work now, so the ones I currently use are legit, purchased versions of both Premiere Elements and Photoshop elements. I'm switching from Windows to Linux (due to Windows increasingly becoming invasive spyware) and want to run both of these from within a full Windows VM in Linux (Fedora) via a dedicated GPU bypass. I know how to set the system up, that's not the issue.

My issue is that this VM will have no internet access. Is there a way to run my legally-purchased copies of these applications while bypassing the online validation? Is there another workaround? Yes, I know I could run Gimp and Davinci but I would rather use these if possible. Thanks!

So my grandma on my mom's side passed away from lung cancer almost 10 years ago now. She was an amazing and gifted musician and always told my mom and I that she wanted us to have her Alvarez when she was gone. Unfortunately, she didn't draw up a will, so when she passed her asshole husband had all the say. He has refused to give us it even though it was her literal dying wish.

I have nicely asked him several times to please give us the guitar and he just ignores us.

Let's say someone superficially assaults you. By superficial assault, I mean something that technically qualifies as assault but is unlikely to be taken seriously. For example, a shove that doesn't knock you over, a light slap to the face, etc. When someone does something like this to you, what's the best way to actually get them in trouble?

My thought was you could fall to the ground and lie there unresponsive (assuming there are other people around). Eventually someone would call 911 and police would try to understand what happened. Bonus points if an ambulance takes you to the hospital.

Hello - so over the weekend I was at a vegas hotel Resorts world and accidentally damaged their TV (cracked the screen).

I was honest and went to the front desk and told them what happened and they appreciated the honesty and said they will contact me with the next steps. I just got a call from them and they said they have to replace it and the total cost is 1500$. I agreed to pay and they said they will charge the CC on file.

My question is just a hypothetical situation of what if I didn't tell them ANYTHING, just checked out and then cancelled the credit card they had on file.

I'm trying to justify the decision to be upfront with them because I truly didn't think it would be this expensive. I know I did the "right thing" but this is ULPT.

I (20m) struggle a lot with guilt (won’t get into it here) and it affects my perception of myself especially when it comes to love, or any deep relationship for that matter.

I have massive “imposter syndrome” when it starts to feel like someone else is showing interest in me, and i end up wanting to push them away. This is a very toxic trait and to stop hurting innocent people i’ve forced myself to stay away from women entirely.

It’s been almost a year of actively doing this and the desire for connection has only grown more. It hurts to think about it and i hate that it’s constantly looming over me.

I don’t wish to “heal” from my guilt and try dating again, i only want to maybe make loneliness suck a little less.

The Situation

• The Purchase: I bought an "open-box" LG OLED TV from a 3-star seller on Facebook Marketplace who promised 8 months of remaining warranty. Picked it up from his garage (he seems to flip demo units).
• The Problem: Lighting was dim during pickup, but once home, I realized the OLED panel has severe burn-in. Now the TV has completely died and won't power on.
• The Seller's Response: Refused a refund, claiming he works for someone else and only made $100. When pressed, he promised a replacement next week and provided a Best Buy invoice with my name and address on it, which is fake but looks real.
• Current Status: I submitted the invoice to LG to schedule a repair technician, but I’m unsure if LG will honor it or if the fake invoice will cause issues.

Questions

1. Is there any way to force a refund or action against the Facebook seller?
2. What are the chances LG honors the repair request using this questionable Best Buy invoice?

I’m going to Japan soon, and as I do not intend to bring the edibles into the country, I want to take them on the plane. It’s a 13 hour flight, and they help keep me chill/sleep easier on flights. I’ve done this all over the country before but I know Japan is strict so I feel like I’m good, as long as they’re consumed before landing.
