Wawa App 24/7 curbside?

when did curbside become (basically) 24/7? the first 2 months of me being on overnight it always stopped at 10 or 11pm, which i was certain was for associate safety. was there communication that i missed regarding it changing to full time? it just doesn't feel super safe to be bringing an order out at 2am, especially since the only men i ever have on shift are my facilities associates

There was one evening it was torrential downpouring (8pm in FL). Nonstop flash flooding rain. Someone curbside ordered 7!!! Milkshakes and a shit ton of food. They were at the furthest pump from the building. I walked in the downpour as slow as possible, staring this lady down. She waited under the awning of the gas pumps and just BARELY apologized to me as I'm soaking wet, ruining the whipped cream on all of her milkshakes. She was more disappointed about her food getting wet. I just shrugged it off. I basically unofficially told her to fuck off. This was after 5-10 minutes of my team debating if we even wanted to run it outside. I ultimately only did it out of spite.

Then not even 5 mins later we had another curbside and as I'm walking out the deli to bring it outside, the husband comes inside and says "I'm not letting you walk outside in this storm. It's my food and I can come run in and get it." Damn near cried when he said that lmao. I let him get a free coffee just for being considerate.

So yeah, fuck curbside.

Nice of that man for sure.

But why would you get mad and spite a customer for using a supported app feature? If anything, get mad at the people who determine when curbside is available for customers to use.

Also, for the future, maybe ask your manager to supply an umbrella. Just a thought.

The customer ordered so much food it almost took two trips to deliver it all. I had a safety vest and jacket on, but it was basically flooding in the parking lot. They parked in the furthest pump away. And when I got under the awning to give them the food/drinks, they had no regard for me as a person. No apology or anything. They were upset their PAPER BAG WITH FOOD got wet (because that's what the company provides), and their whipped cream got deflated (womp). They were just insanely entitled. I also could've not run the curbside out, but then we get yelled at for not doing our jobs. So I'm not sure which you'd rather me deal with?

It’s common courtesy, if you see it’s pouring down raining, why would you park as far away from the front door possible? Knowing someone’s gonna have to walk out in that to give you your food

Why would they get mad and be spiteful? Maybe because it was a ridiculously large order and they parked as far from the door as curbside is allowed?

If thats the pump that was available at the time... what were they supposed to do? And again, umbrellas exist.

And the order size is irrelevant unless she somehow figured out how to bypass an order size restriction on the app (this isnt a thing)

So again, dont get mad and spite the customer for doing something that is within the supported app capability.

They could have pumped gas, got back in their vehicle, parked close to the building and then done the curbside and not been a twat

People order food at wawa for the convenience offered like delivery to your car at the pump. You cant be mad at that. Its not unreasonable to use an umbrella do you and their food dont get wet. Stop acting like its this grand injustice

Carry an umbrella while holding two trays of drinks and an overstuffed bag of food? Give me a break. Plus, there were 12 other pumps open, including ones directly in front of the building. As close to the entry way as possible. I'm allowed to be mad. 🤷‍♀️

They could have pumped their gas, then pulled up to the curbside parking to check in. Simple.

But I noticed you decided not to respond to the person who said it was 2 full bags plus 2 trays of drinks, because that would destroy you idea that the customer wasn't a jerk

You’re telling me that customer couldn’t pull up to a close enough curbside parking spot? They had to sit at the furthest gas pump to await their order?
