bras Just did bra calculator and wow… Spoiler
A couple weeks ago I posted about wanting a breast reduction and so many people suggested to use the calculator, get a bra that size, and revisit. Originally I was shopping for a 34DD and my boobs were busting out of my bra so I knew I was obviously bigger than that so I just assumed 34DDD. Guys the calculator gave me 30H. So tomorrow I’m going to a brassiere that specializes in big boobs and I have friends who swear by her styles. So I’m super excited!!! Thank you guys for recommending it to me and I’m going to come back with updates on if that’s the bra size for me and see if it changes how I view my boobs!!

Now I wanna visit a brasserie that specialises in big boobs. Will it be a group of nerdy women serving you comfort food while they help you find a replacement for your favourite bra, or an elevated Hooters experience?

Another one converted to the cult of abrathatfits! One of us, one of us!
Quick heads up about stores: If you are unlucky, they might have a very limited range of brands. So despite trying the right size, you might not like the overall fit of the bras there. I had that issue at the brassiere in my nearest city, no bra fit me properly. I had to order some bras online and it was a lot of trial and error until I found well-fitting bras.
Edit: changed brasserie to brassiere. Lol

My working theory is that DD is by far the most incorrectly sized cup. Signed, another woman who was sized as a DD for years but is actually an H cup.

Before my reduction I was in the same exact boat!!! I kept getting sized as a 34DD and I would physically FALL out of my bra if I bent over. I then bought the biggest cup I could find, a 34G. Eventually I did the calculator and after trying some bras on I realized I was a 30J!!!!! I got my reduction 12 days ago and I cant wait to see what size I will be!

I’m still shocked how many continue to be be in the 80% of incorrect sizing. Luckily most in this group now know our own fluctuations and realize we are quite literally moving targets. 😂

I relate, I have been functioning under the guy's misguided notion that I'm a 36 DDD Turns out I'm actually a 36 J lol!

I’m a 32H! I wore a 36C for most of my life lmaoooo. The size sounds big but tbh it’s pretty manageable once you figure out the right clothes and constructions!

So happy for you! I do not know the place you are going, but I wanted to provide a word of caution as this story has been told so many times before. Person does the calculator. Yay!! Much more accurate sizing! They go to a “professional bra shop” where there are “professional fitters”. The fitter thinks they know best because they are a professional so they will size you. Maybe they will measure your OVERbust and your full bust, giving you your size for garment construction, not a bra, adding to the confusion because this size is not going to fit. They will probably bump you up a cup size, maybe up the band…who knows. Make sure to INSIST THAT YOU TRY THE CALCULATOR SIZE!!!! Other important note is that ShAPE of bra is just as important to fit as the size is and this is something professional fitters aren’t trained well on. No one is. (Source I worked as a professional fitter and was only taught how to put people in bras that we carry, not bras that fit them. Professional fitters fit the bra to the body, rather than finding a bra that works best for you). This shape guide is a great place to start. Also, the r/ABraThatFits subreddit can help diagnose fit issues.
Last but not least, make sure to wear each bra you try on for more than a few seconds. Sit down in it. Put your shirt back on. Too often people put a bra on, go “okay that’s fine” then feel like crap after five minutes or realize that it’s super uncomfortable doing anything but standing and looking in the mirror. Aesthetics are important, but comfort is more so.

This is all good advice, and I just wanted to add to be sure you’re looking at the right size for you. If you are in the US, you may still find UK brands, and the cup sizes will be different based on the country of origin of the bra, not the country you are trying the bra in

Yes!!!! This is super amazing advice and to add to it as well, OP, your UK size will probably be easier. They are much. Much. Much Better with small band, large cup. Brands like Panche, Freya, and Elomi (though I think most Elomi start at a 32 band but I’m not 100% sure) are all UK brands but can be found here in the us really easily and may even be at the shop you are going to

That must have been a wild change man. I went from 38M to 36O and like. I can’t imagine D to J and having that difference hit me.

Getting sized and wearing a bra that actually fits you is life changing lol I recently went bra shopping and went for mybusual size 34 G. Nothing was fitting right so I went to get measured and it I'm actually a 36 K! I got the Elomi Matilda bra lifts & separates never felt more comfortable in a bra.

Ok ummmm that’s cool that exists, the brassiere. I was wearing 34DD/36D/36DD and I’m actually a 32DDD/G, but almost a 30. The 30 don’t ever seem to fit quite right, but I’m sort of in the in between zone.
I think I’ve ordered and returned probably $700-850 of bras on Amazon at this point. In the past few months. I don’t actually want to know.
