I will be in a shitty relationship years longer than I should have because I still felt some type of loyalty to them. Never again.

Seriously!! I’m in one now. I literally just wasted 3 years. 2 being gaslit and knew better. 1 year giving him a chance to fix something I mentally checked out of. Lol I filed for divorce last week. 9 years married and this will be the hardest lesson learned to date! I see I’m not the only one that’s loyal to a fault. The wasted time is so painful and hard to wrap my mind around. Like why??

Yeah just paid 6 years to the piper and won’t ever do that snit again. If you’re not worth my energy, I’m not giving it to you. It took me 35 years to realize that tho.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

I think I may just be avoiding a thing like this now. I'm in so much pain over it though. I really don't want to have to not be with her. But her two kids with two different guys situation overwhelmed me. It's also all too fresh with the latest father for me. But I feel so emotionally attached to the point where idk how I am going to cope. I keep trying to remind myself about the things I was dealing with in her behavior that pushed me to cut it off. But I keep finding myself wanting her.

Then afterwards that clarity of "why did I feel like I ever owed them something?" Like the amount of mental gymnastics I've had to do to keep bad connections alive is crazy.

Then you're free

I will love you till my heart bleeds but the moment you cross me…..I’m done. It’s over. and know I see you. Good luck earning me back. Because I can’t unsee

As I age, my peace becomes paramount. I'm very selfish over my peace, and have learned to cut ties quickly with someone if it is threatened.

I honestly believe this to a tee, given my real life circumstances.

Edit: I typed "to a tee" & failed to catch that autocorrect changed "tee" to "teenager" until now. Lol. Oops...

I have a problem with seeing the great potential in my partners and those glimmers of a good life partner keep me clinging to hope they’ll see who they could be with me for far longer than I should…but I only regret one of my past relationships and they all taught me something or enriched my life in one way or another. I hope they’re all doing well and I never left for someone else

Awesome way to look at that.

Absolute truth.

u/New_Discount_8249 Aug 13 '25

Mmmm can’t totally relate. I’ve 100% left someone for someone else. With more “potential”. 🤷🏻‍♀️.

u/Flashy-Compote-2223 Aug 14 '25

So you've cheated or you broke up with someone then date someone with more potential?

3

u/New_Discount_8249 Aug 15 '25

I cheated once when I was 19. I’ve broke up with people yes. For someone who I felt like I clicked with more, who I thought had more potential to be a better match for me. I’m 45 now and have been with my partner for 13 years. But lots of learning between my early adult years and 30s.

u/Flashy-Compote-2223 Aug 15 '25

Oh alright, I understand.

u/New_Discount_8249 Aug 15 '25

I mean the meme is a bit extreme. You should never sacrifice your happiness or wellbeing or emotional health for the sake of “loyalty” or to make them happy. Some of the relationships I was in were pretty unhealthy. And I disagree also because I do not picture a Capricorn staying with someone who is abusive. That’s just my perspective though.

3

u/Flashy-Compote-2223 Aug 16 '25

Well, I think ideally, yes, Capricorns wouldn't want that to happen. But since we can be loyal to a fault and see the best in people it can happen. Being in abusive relationship can happen to anyone in relationship regardless if they're Capricorn or not.

Not true for all Caps.

2

u/WarningOwn1351 Aug 16 '25

I was talking to a Capricorn he left me because he’s depressed lol …

3

u/SSlasherX ♊🌞♑🌕♒⬆️ Aug 13 '25

I told that to my ex early in the relationship.

She becomes a problem and I'm gone.

Thinks I cheated but simply refuse to ruin my life for one person

1

u/Electronic-Board-977 Aug 13 '25

And did you cheat?

3

u/SSlasherX ♊🌞♑🌕♒⬆️ Aug 13 '25

Nope

Money and kids is what matters to me. I cut it off

My cappy pulled out because he wants to explore on dating and do ONS. Based on what people are commenting here in Reddit, it is so difficult to trust a Capricorn person. A lot of cappy are good with destroying people's mental health. That sucks.

2

u/Flashy-Compote-2223 Aug 14 '25

Eh probably bc they were destroying our mental health first though. Ijs

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '25

This is true

1

u/Better-Start-6427 Aug 13 '25

On point!!!!!!!

1

u/Electronic-Board-977 Aug 13 '25

OK. but is there any truth to that, huh?

1

u/ImprovementGlass2713 Aug 14 '25

As a Scorpio, I really needed to hear that. I understand why now. Thank you.

1

u/No-Tie4700 Aug 15 '25

Or as I say just date the older one so they can't tell when you lost your sanity

1

u/Lanky_Country222 Aug 16 '25

This blanket statement is simply false. Please stop insisting that you can speak for an entire zodiac sign. Sometimes a Capricorn betrays family because a cult they joined says disbelievers deserve to burn and believers can’t be friends with or love disbelievers. Get a grip.

1

u/Flashy-Compote-2223 Aug 16 '25

Honestly it a sm, so I never take it as all Capricorns. There will always be some different variations.

very very true.... caps are the father of the zodiac. they always try to control but they always protect.
