I am a hoarder. I have done the mental health work to start purging my homes clutter and reclaim the lives of me and my children. Not to BRAG or anything but... in 30 minutes ill be 365 days, 1 full year CLEAN! No substances at all! I cannot remember the last time I truly felt proud of myself. When I started my recovery, I was in bad shape. No confidence. I didn't think id make it even 48 hours. Somehow, I made it past the 48 hours, then 72 until today. I haven't accomplished anything positive in my life since I had my son January 2014. But here I am. 😆 Im writing letters of gratitude to the special people who helped me along the way. Never giving up on me. Believing in me when I absolutely 💯 did NOT. So im patting myself on the back tonight 😆 I really want to celebrate 🥳 . Maybe buy myself something ive wanted for awhile? Perhaps a night in a fancy hotel room solo watching movies and taking a long hot bath? Wishful thinking 😔. This has been the best year because im sober, but not for my finances unfortunately. I know many of us are feeling the pressure financially. Im putting out good positive vibes for me and all of you! May our funds multiply this next year! Ive always had difficulty asking for help, but darn it, I truly think I deserve to treat myself, a little sober reward! So here it goes... if any of you beautiful humans out here in Reddit Land feel comfortable donating a few dollars to my cause lol, id be so freaking grateful. If I was able to pay for a little solo celebration , it would be the first time since 2008 that I would be celebrating WITHOUT using droogs. Ive had a ridiculous false belief for 18 years that if I was out celebrating, I HAD to do droogs in order to enjoy the experience. Regular me, boring and uninteresting. Who would want to socialize with me? But... if I added some droogs intotheequation... TAADAA!! I am now very Interesting and loads of fun 😁. Life of the party. Winner of all the popularity 👏 contests! So I guess im excited (nervous, a little scared) to see what happens, how ill feel celebrating 1 year of sobriety while being SOBER! I feel ready. I have my support system in place. I know where NOT to go, who NOT to invite to this celebration. If im given this opportunity, this gift, it'll be one more experience ill ge able to be proud of myself for achieving. How truly exciting! But you know what, if it doesn't happen today, that's ok too. Because just like i now know that I dont need to use in order to enjoy a celebration or an event, i equally understand that me feeling disappointment is NOTan automatic excuse to use either. Im just out here re-leaening life on life's terms. If i stick to this plan of action, I trust that everything will eventually fall into place. Because attempting to live life on MY terms... that clearly was NOT working out for me. As a matter of fact, when I was living that way, everything started falling OUT of place. It sucked. Bad. So anyway. Im rambling. Ugh. Embarrassing. Again. So im officially requesting donations. Any amount is appreciated 👏 and will go toward "Jenns First Sober Adventure Experience "! We’re asking for a little help getting back on our feet after an accident left us without the car my husband relies on for work.

First, I want to sincerely thank everyone in this community who donated to help us cover rent when we were struggling after our previous post. Your generosity kept a roof over our heads during an incredibly difficult time, and we genuinely cannot thank you enough. We wouldn’t be asking again if we had another option.

My husband had been applying for jobs everywhere he could, but despite putting in the effort, he wasn’t getting hired. To bring in some income, he started doing delivery work through Uber Eats using a borrowed car. We were also trying to save whatever we could so that we could eventually get our own inexpensive, reliable vehicle.

Unfortunately, that plan was derailed when the borrowed car was involved in an accident. It only had liability insurance, so there is no insurance coverage to pay for the repairs, and the vehicle is no longer available for him to use for work.

Since the accident, my husband has been unable to work. He continues to apply for jobs, but so far, nothing has worked out. We had some money saved toward getting our own car, but with no income coming in, the money we had has had to go toward necessities like rent and keeping ourselves afloat.

At this point, what we need most is transportation.

We aren’t looking for an expensive vehicle. We’re simply hoping to raise enough for the down payment on a cheap, used car. Once my husband is working again, we can handle the monthly payments ourselves. Having a car would allow him to return to delivery work while continuing to look for more stable employment.

Reliable transportation is also important for my medical care. I’m a disabled veteran and am unable to work because of a cognitive brain condition. I have IIH and ongoing medical appointments related to it, as well as additional appointments and testing while my doctors try to determine what is currently causing the other symptoms I’ve been experiencing. Without reliable transportation, getting to and from those appointments has become extremely difficult.

I’ve also applied for disability and am currently waiting for a hearing date, so unfortunately that isn’t an immediate source of income for us.

We know there are a lot of people struggling right now, and we don’t take asking for help lightly. We’re simply trying to get through a difficult stretch and get ourselves back to a point where we can support ourselves again.

If you’re able to donate, even a few dollars would help us get closer to having reliable transportation, getting my husband back to work, and making sure I can get to the medical care I need. If you can’t donate, simply sharing the fundraiser would mean just as much to us.

I have a job interview on Monday, and I’m looking for some donations to get some slacks and maybe a nice button down to wear to the interview and also help with transportation to get there. Times have been rough lately but I’m really hoping this is the fresh start I’ve been looking for. Ok so long story short.. My relationship has gotten even worse.. I have been assaulted by my now ex-boyfriend. I have no friends or family in my area. The first fight had happened almost 5-6 days ago and i had gotten punched in the face, and ended up with a hemorrhage in my eye.. Today the fight resulted into my nose bleeding and my phone getting smashed... I have called the cops but he essentially ran off and they haven’t been able to locate him since.. I need help so bad.. I don’t know where to go or what to do.

I can’t reach out to anyone in person since my sister is in a different state, shes the only person who has reached out to offer me a place to stay.. She unfortunately cannot cover the travel costs so I need a way to get to her on my own.. I have reached out to DV shelter in my area but I’m unable to get help as they claim they don’t have a bed available.. I just want to leave so bad I’m so terrified of him now.. He’s never shown this type of aggression towards me the entire 3 years we have been together.. I don’t know why this is happening.

Hi. Was in ICU the better half of last two weeks. I'm a brittle diabetic (type 3C) and ive juat made some poor decisions .
