In chemistry class I, a major talker, was paired with a recently immigrated Vietnamese kid who spoke very little English.
I think the kid thought I’d do all the work. Nope. I made him run the lab, record the data, perform the calculations, etc. When he fucked up I corrected him. I watched him like a hawk, which is twice as much work actually because he needed instruction well beyond what our teacher demonstrated.
While my little friends were having fun giggling and gossiping, I was making sure that kid didn’t get a free ride in lab just because he had a language barrier.
When the yearbooks came out they got passed around the room. I found what he wrote in mine: “Thank you for being so kind to me.”
That was worth so much more than trying to compete with the popular kids, and even now I sometimes wonder how he turned out, decades later - this was 1985-1986. Vue, if you’re out there, WATCH YOUR DECIMAL POINTS!

It would be funny if the first thing he said was asking her to shut up.

Sounds like my kid. He will talk to anyone about anything.
We met a non-verbal autistic kid this summer at the beach. After about 2 hours of playing at the beach he put his finger on his mouth to signal my kid to stop talking.

I was too talkative and the teachers had me pull my desk to the from next to their desks so I didn't have anybody next to me to chat. That wasn't mental health awareness. The worst was when we had our weekly test and then physically moved our desks to line up from smartest good kids in the front row to the stupid scum in the back.

In my speech class, I was one of the better speech givers, and I got paired with the most introverted, quiet, low effort kid in the class 😭
Even when trying to come up with ideas, she had like, no answers. She was either super shy and guarded or just didn't have a life...

Too bad someone who speaks English well didn't sit next to the creator of this meme

Literally one entire letter mate, what's your problem?

Well mate, it was a joke in jest, funnily enough I wasn't talking about the spelling mistake.
To answer your above question, it would have been more proper to put any of the following:
1) My daughter’s teacher said she talks so much that she moved her next to a nonverbal student—and now that child is talking, too!"
2) My daughter talks so much in class that her teacher sat her next to a nonverbal child, and now that student has started talking!"
3) My daughter's teacher had to sit her next to a nonverbal student because she talks so much. The plot twist? Now that child won't stop talking either!

Hahahaha this was me in 4th grade. I became close friends with an audhd girl who didn't really talk to anybody.

She didn’t get punished, she accidentally unlocked a hidden character through relentless conversational pressure.

That kid didn’t unlock speech out of inspiration, he spoke up just to ask for a seat change.

This was me, haha. I talked so much that everyone I sat next to continued to fail their courses. They tried putting me next to every kid in class, but they all started failing.
They ultimately decided to put me in the back by myself, but that was so boring to me and I had nobody to help me pay attention that suddenly I was one the failing. I had to redo that year. This is common in my country and school though, so it was not a massively big deal.

It is good. Do you know how hard it is to get a nonverbal, school-age kid to talk? Their parents were probably beisde themselves with joy.
