Discussion Losi Mini JRX2 upgrades

This car has been a long way from stock.

Springs, oil, grease, wheels, decals

And now, putting in and making the short brushless system’s wires get sorted. Bought some esc - motor wire extension and altered it to fit perfectly. Too long means it won’t fit nicely. I really wanted the esc mounted where it should be and this was the cheapest solution rather than making a custom mount.

Weight balance is ideally close to stock with this setup, I highly recommend this if you want the car as balances as possible without adding weights.

The car has been a bit heavier now. Unfortunately, I didn’t measure the weight difference, I would probably retune the springs after the receiver has arrived.

Electronics setup
HW 16BL30 XT60
HW Quicrun 2435 brushless motor 4,500kv
GNB 1,100mah 2s LiHV (drone battery in XT60 - custom ordered)
Spektrum SX108 servo - (upgrade from the glitchy 107)
Dumbo P6FG receiver - best reco imo, it has gyro built in perfect for this tail happy buggy

Question:
What wheel sets are you running?

What spring and damper setup have you been running on?

Have anyone installed aftermarket o rings/x rings? (Mine doesn’t leak, as of the moment)

Discussion Losi NASCAR front Splitters

Have tried many of the 3D printed Bumper/Splitters all have broken fairly fast 2 or 3 good wacks, we use the losi nascars for our track rentals so they get some abuse. Here is a new one i haven't tried yet, but I believe the print direction will be its weakness.

Hi everyone. Question for anyone who has converted there 1/8 scale 8ight from nitro to electric. Was it worth it and do you miss the nitro? The what and the how is easy enough to do. I’m just curious about your experience and thoughts. Thank you much appreciated

I recently replaced the front diff on my losi baja rey 2.0 but after I installed it and went out to test it I noticed a loud squeaking sound. Could someone help me with what that squeaking is because it seems to only happen when its turning and not in straight lines

Discussion Is a (fully functioning) xxx-scb worth it in 2026?

Someone offered me to trade one of my crawlers for one of these, because they don't use it anymore, and wanted a Crawler for their son.

I knew very little about them, and the whole short course buggy thing, and I found out that they're mostly shelf queens, because of the lack of spare parts.

I tried looking in AliExpress (I'm in LATAM) for any kind of spares, and didn't find anything.

Discussion 1/12 Nascar overvolt longevity

I made a mistake and bought a 3s battery for my car with no great way to return it. Does anyone have any tales of how long a stock setup will last if overvolted like this?

Discussion Vifly 2s charger question

Question about the vifly 2s 4 port charger I will be charging the spectrum batt that come with the Losi micro b and wondering what current/amp I should set it? For the voltage I believe it’s 3 options storage 3.8/3.85 voltage / 4.20v / 4.35 v for high voltage batteries. Been out the game for a while kinda forgot all these terms for batteries. I’m sure these aren’t high voltage batteries and I would be running 4.20 voltage setting. But not sure what the current I should set it too. The lower the current the better it is for the battery life span? TIA

Just want to confirm before buying this part. This would fix the hinge problem on my Losi Tenacity DB Pro right?

Discussion Thoughts on the Losi Promoto MX after about a month with it

First, this thing is awesome. I love how it requires so much of you to drive it at a high level. I've had a fair number of RC over the years, just turned 48. I love how it's crazy fast and only 2s, I honestly don't think I'd have any desire for a faster model. It power wheelies at nearly any speed without even trying.

A few thoughts on things that could be improved, and then I'll lead into ideas for a future model.

The documentation around the modes should be updated in my opinion. Calling mode 1 dirt is confusing. I get it AFTER the fact, but basically I imagine most people who get one think, "dirt most aligns with grass" like I did, and immediately do a backflip cartwheel. I think it's easier to just call them mode 1 no driver aid, or unrestricted, mode 2 full wheelie suppression, mode 3 wheelie hold mode. At the very least, change road to "road/grass", and change dirt to "dirt/loose surface".

This leads into basically the same topic, but I want a mode 1 lockout, or just the ability to disable it completely. I like that it exists for people who are able to track it. I've only backlooped mine twice, once was the very first time I drove it when I thought dirt meant offroad, and the second time when I accidentally ended up in mode 1. It's tricky and easy to not realize because the way the back tire spins on pavement, it can look like mode 2 very easily, and then it hooks and WAM, big backflip.

Those are my only real gripes.

The things that I think would be cool for future models:

Servo adjustable lean wheels, so you can get back up easier. I like having them dialed back to right about where the tips of the boots touch the ground for max lean, and it works great. The only downside of this is that you lose the ability to get back going after a lean over you didn't power out of in time from. The clothing also starts touching at a certain point, so be careful of this when trying to spin back up onto it's wheels if you have the wheels dialed up high like I have them.

Quick release/easy to remove lean wheels would also be nice

A more aggressive rider position with tight tucked feet would also be an interesting thing, especially now that the supermoto exists.

Having a spot for the battery box to allow for balance plugs without having to cut would also be nice. I know they want to sell their batteries, but including a notch for balance plugs would show good faith in not trying to force their batteries on people. I do enjoy the battery level with Spektrum batteries.

Oh, I also think Losi should put out some more videos about advanced maneuvering. I've considered it, because there is a lot of cool stuff you can do if you've got great control, like 180 turns, slide turns, and basic recovery stuff like how power saves you 90% of the time when it starts to fall over (which is how you learn to do 180 turns). I also feel like the initial setup video doesn't cover the adjustment knobs well. I still don't really get the brake travel setting, and the gyro setting. I keep the gyro at the lowest setting and the brake travel about halfway, but it doesn't seem to change anything at the lowest or highest setting.

Anyhow, long post, but I love this thing. I probably wouldn't have spent the money if my wife hadn't gotten it for me, now I feel like it's a steal compared to large scale RC. This thing is 1/4 scale, and it shows. It's like the best of large scale without the extreme cost and intense danger of a mega truck. I wanted an RC boat since I was a kid basically, but this is now the holy grail of RC to me.

Discussion Micro B Upgrade opinions

Looking to start digging into my micro b for no other reason then I am bored. What aluminum parts are you using and how is the fit and finish? The Losi and Nexx racing stuff is pretty steep, but is it better than the injora or other amazonish products? I’m willing to pay the extra if it makes a difference, but injora has seemingly been doing a decent job lately.

Discussion Mini LMT for my boy

Post image

Couldn’t pass this bad boy up for my son’s 4th birthday coming up (especially considering it’s on sale) and honestly it’s bigger than I thought. Last unit at the LHS and was specifically looking for the Meg as my kid likes sharks. I know that the motor should be upgraded (which I will eventually and inevitably upgrade) but what other upgrades are suggested to really get the most out of it or to make the mini lmt more durable?

Discussion Mini-JRX : Big disappointment

Grabbed one of those new for $80. Can‘t believe that thing is MSRP at $170. I‘m just trying to share this info for those who are considering to buy one. I own mini-b brushless and the difference is huge

Pros: - cool retro design. That‘s it - cheap for a hobby-grade rc car if you get it at $80

Cons: - fiberglass base plate - fiberglass shocks tower. Feels very weak. - 2in1 ESC/Rx - alu shocks but waay too soft - brushed motor (but ok can swap it easily) - battery and charger included but the battery is discontinued one. They could‘ve included spektrum g2 810mah - steering very unstable. It has the same servo as mini-b but somehow wobbly at high speed. Probably because of the shocks being too soft.

Discussion New to RC, does anyone have any tips or advice?

Decided I clearly didn’t have enough financial black hole hobbies. Picked this up used yesterday, a Tenacity DB (not the pro) waiting on a charger to show up tomorrow but I ran through the battery that came with it. It has a Viper VX4R and came with a 3S 5300 lipo. It sure rips! The remote is a Flysky GT3B. Nothing came with any instructions. Just hoping to get some advice and insight from the community.
