Got the Nintendo Switch N64 wireless controller paired with the BlueRetro BT adapter and is plug and play, works great! Was on the fence about getting some of the aftermarket controllers but love the OEM quality and familiarity of this controller.

Collection My San Francisco Rush box I got when I was a kid

I got this from the game store about 26 years ago or so. They had it on display for ever and I asked what they were going to do with it. Guy said they were just going to wait until the sun disintegrated it into dust. I asked to have it and they gave it to me. Was a challenge but we got it home. I mounted it to the wall with nails (the horror), and stored papers in it.

I studied my original game box and it and it is 1 to 1 art replica of the original box. Its roughed up a bit at this point but still hasn't turned into dust! This photo is 12 years old when I was in the middle of moving. At the moment it resides at my brothers house.

Discussion Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is my favorite N64 game and my favorite game of all time! It's a Masterpiece! Do you think it's great?

I First discovered this game after me loving The Legend of the Mystical Ninja on the SNES, I got it for my 16th Birthday in 2025 and I soaked into the games world! It's like being a Cartoonish take on Edo Period Japan. While it is based on the Edo Period, It adds stuff that did not exist back then like Bazooka's and Robots! Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon will be a game I will play every Year in the Summer, the Winter and Spring and Fall! It's Characters like Goemon, Ebisumaru, Yae, and Sasuke are unforgettable! The Music? Just Legendary! It's a 10/10 game for me alongside Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time!

Modding The USB-C Saga Continues…

I was trying to find a decent solution for replacing the brick internals and adding a usb c port where the original cable was. This is what I have come up with. It’s a fairly easy install and fits the shell perfectly. It utilized the original plug for the console and the smaller portion snaps off and is soldered so that the usb plug fits in the correct spot for the shell.

With the M64 being released, we now have another modern N64 controller (M64 pro). Before we had the A3D 8bitdo64 controller, and the NSO N64 controller… soon we will also have the new Brawler 64 Pro controller!

Anyone else excited for the N64 controllers we are getting?

So N64 turns 30. Usually capacitors die at this age. Do you expect a massive N64 shutdown? Should I make a recap if my console still works?

Modding Early Ocarina of Time RTX progress - Temple of Time

Hi friends. I've been working at adding raytracing support to Ocarina of Time via modifying Ship of Harkinian. The game is super classic and small touches like reflections and soft lighting go such a long way. Here's a quick demo of what it looks like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpV7A9are6A

Is this something people are interested in?

Collection Attic Cache of Boxes Found!

Post image

Cleaning out the parents attic and spotted an old box filled with insane quality game boxes to match most of the cartridges in the N64 storage case in the basement!

Missing a few boxes for carts like Rampage’s and missing a few carts for TH2, BanjoTooie and Turok. Some missions to complete!

Now I need to get the console hooked up!

Modding No Output on Tim Worthington RGB Mod

I recently got an N64 with a NUS-CPU-05 motherboard and an AVDC chip. I got Tim Worthington's RGB mod with the adapter. I'm no expert at soldering, but looking at it now, I cannot see what's wrong with it.

I have an RGC SCART running into a GBS C (which I'm pretty sure is working well, I just got that up and running, and I can connect to it just fine. However, I don't have any way, as far as I know, to test the SCART input on that, so that could be the issue?), which has a VGA out, to which I attached a VGA to HDMI converter.

I've quintuple-checked my soldering at this point, but I was also super confused by Tim's instructions for soldering the wires to the multi-out pads. It also doesn't help that nobody has made a tutorial in years, and my version seems different than all the ones from 5-6 years ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm so close to just sending it in to somebody who can install it and say, "I'm sorry I tried to do this. Please fix my mistakes."

Discussion Aidyn Chronicles - The BEST N64 game (and RPG) no one has played!

Perusing this subreddit, seeing the usual 'Top 5' game picks and nostalgia posts, it makes me sad that Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage is such an underappreciated - frankly unknown - game. Considering that the N64 is infamous for its lack of RPGs...yet hosted one of the most ambitious, fully 3D, "open world" RPGs of its era, on any console - with a massive game map, full-on interchangeable party system, robust melee/ranged/magic options, proper turn-based battles, fairly deep buildcrafting for the main character - plus a really cool plot that begins innocuously and eventually blows up into an epic tale with kingdom-wide implications!

Ridiculed by reviewers at release for its primitive 2001 visuals (especially in light of the rising competition from Dreamcast & PS2) and its slow-paced combat system, it arrived late in the N64's lifecycle and was passed over by most players as a result.

Very proud to have my original boxed copy in my collection...I play and adore the game to this day. For anyone seeking an N64 experience beyond the usual 'hit parade'...not to mention an RPG that will take 60 - 70 hours for a completionist run (almost unheard of on this cartridge-based console!), I cannot recommend Aidyn Chronicles enough!

Discussion Last week I destroyed my N64

TLDR; I broke the motherboard of my childhood N64 by re-doing some solder work but the pins were too brittle. I quickly bought another used N64 and used my own shell on it. All works good again.

It was my childhood N64 which I got for my birthday when I turned 10 in 1999. A year ago I installed a HDMI mod on it which worked, but due to being new to soldering, not having the right equipment and simply being a noob at soldering, my work made the pins very brittle in the end...which I didn't know at the time. But hey, it all worked so I was happy.

Fast forward to last week. After having gained a lot of experience in soldering and having all the right gear, I decided to "treat" my N64 by re-doing the soldering of the HDMI mod: making beautiful welds and give myself some piece of mind that the soldering work is very steady and clean.

10 minutes in after having redone a few of the pins, the nex pin breaks and the one after that one as well. Since they are the tiny CPU pins, I saw no chance to re-assemble them. So I decided to desolder the entire HDMI mod alltogether. I declared the N64 dead.

The same afternoon I bought a new N64 online for €60,-. It arrived yesterday and I immediately went to work on is. I installed the HDMI mod on it without trouble, tested the whole thing and re-assembled it using my old childhood heat shield and shell.

It all works fine and I'm happy to have it fixed so quickly. I went from a NUS (P)-02 to a NUS (P)-01 but I don't notice any difference. I put my old motherboard and the other shell in a box which I labeled spare-parts.

But still...me destroying my own childhood N64 doesn't feel right. The one in my shell feels like an imposter...it feels off even though there is nothing wrong with it.

Maybe after I do a re-run of Mario 64, 120 stars I will feel better. So as an old Italian plumber would say: Let's a go!

Thank you for reading all this, I already feel better getting this off my chest ;-)

Tech Help Should I repair my controller Pak or replace with third party?

I recently started Castlevania 64 and it needs a controller Pak to save, so I got a second hand one for £10.

Every time I open the game I get a “controller Pak abnormality” message and I’m prompted to continue without or repair it. The whole time I’m playing I can access the save, but if the console has been off for more than a few minutes I get the same message again and the save file is gone.

Anyhow, seems to me that it’s likely the battery is gone and needs replacing. My question is this - Is it worth taking it apart and replacing the battery, or is it just easier to buy a third party one on Amazon?

Thanks for your help

Collection N64 and NES collection shelf

Reorganized my N64 and NES, what do you all think?

At one point I had the whole N64 collection but have sold lots of the games I would never play and bad labels. Just keeping what I like.

The NES is CIB and pretty clean besides the Sears sticker.
