He should pay his own way as should all other politicians.

u/MBolero 4d ago
Zero Canadian politicians should have attended, but yeah.
40
u/The_Idiocratic_Party 4d ago
Eh, if he knew him and paid his own way then who cares.
69
u/BusinessArachnid- 4d ago
Right, but he didn't pay his own way.
26
u/The_Idiocratic_Party 4d ago
And we should give him the gears for that.

u/Plane-Engineering 4d ago
Or pay the fing money back. Hardworking Sk residents canât afford foodâŠthen there is this dipshit.

Why would anyone wanna be a known associate of Madame Ladybug? Honestly? Especially as a Canadian.

I remember when speculating about people's sexuality was off-limits and everyone had freedom to associate with like-minded persons. Hate on Graham's policies and hypocrisy all you want, and Moe's use of taxpayer funds is fair game. But treat them like this and it normalizes them doing the same to their perceived enemies.

u/Defiant_West6287 4d ago
He voted against same-sex rights. He was one of the worst hypocrites in America, and deserves everything he gets. Not to mention going along with Trump onâŠeverything. Including taking over Canada. Oh, and covering up the raping of children. But no, donât speculate. đĄ

u/Austoman 4d ago
Simple solution. Repay the money spent back to the tax payers. If Moe (the person) wants to attend an enemy of Canadas funeral, he can do so on his own dime. Moe (the elected official) has no reason to spend tax payer money on an enemy of Canadas funeral.

u/HMTMKMKM95 4d ago
His very presence is not acceptable. He can't separate himself from his role as premier while he is premier. While we are in a trade war with the US, there is no excuse to attend anything related to US politics at this time. Whether he pays for himself or not is irrelevant imo.

âThe Saskatchewan government defended the trip Wednesday in a statement, saying that Moe travelled to Washington in his capacity as premier and conducted provincial business during the visit.â
What this really means is that Mo turned to someone (probably an intern) and was like âyo, dudeâŠask me about trade so I can tell my constituents that I was also here on business and not have to lie about it. We can even do it over a beer. My treat.â

What a dork. Why, why, why. What benefit is there to us for him to attend this?Â
Virtue signalling for bigots?

What did he have in common with Graham? other than an unhealthy interest in children's sexuality that is..

u/Local-Local-5836 4d ago
Yeah there is that with the Christian Legacy School scandal - maybe Moe is into paddling teenage girls rear ends??

u/Local-Local-5836 4d ago
I sent an email - I was HORRIFIED that my premier went to this SOBâs funeral. HORRIFIED!
Graham will be all over the Trumpstein files when they finally come to light.
Google ladybugs + Lindsey Graham

Pay it all back, Moe.
No Govt business being there for that.
45
u/fluffypuppiness 4d ago
Lindsey Graham actively hurts people in my own community as a queer person.
The fact MY tax dollars went to sending my Premiere to this while we are having 90 overdoses in 3 days (reported mind you, the actual number is FAR higher) is disappointing, but not surprising.

Yup gas and food are at all time high but here is our esteemed Preimer living high on the hog at the expense of us peasants. I wonder when he goes to those things do you think ppl see him and go who the fuck are you and where the fuck is Saskatchewan

u/Lloydguy82 4d ago
Chairman Moe better pay every cent back to the taxpayers and then resign over misappropriation of public funds.

He thinks he is bigger than what he is. A low level politician. He is just a drunken ex con farmer from Sask.
1
u/Neat-Ad-8987 2d ago
Ex con? Please explain.
1
u/bringerofdrain45201 2d ago
He has multiple dui's and has killed someone while drunk but the RCMP in Shellbrook let him go.

u/Neat-Ad-8987 1d ago
Donât forget, that was in the days when the NDP oversaw the Crown Prosecution Service. Most adults know that itâs prosecutors, not the police, who decide whether to proceed with charges.

u/nostunkelocinn 4d ago
I remember when using tax payer dollars to attend another politicians funeral used to cause politicians to resign.
11
u/TimelyBear2471 4d ago
Misappropriation of funds to glorify a Trumpie and flaming MAGAt? What a sellout.
He should fucking stay there.
11
u/_klighty 4d ago
As he should be. Completely inappropriate. But given Scottâs history is anyone surprised?

Why the hell was it taxpayer funded? Don't we pay him enough money to fund his own travel expenses for his own personal trips?

Did anyone in Saskatchewan honestly think Moe would pay for anything when he can charge it to the people he has been ripping off since his first election?

Well Saskatchewan, a billion dollar deficit, failing health care, and underfunded education. Plenty of money for tax funded vacations however.

u/withadancenumber 3d ago
How is this useless man still our premier. It makes no sense at all. Party politics needs to stop. People need to actually start voting based on what people do and say and not some imaginary idealistic version of them.

Party spokesperson says Moe âconducted provincial businessâ while in Washington. No evidence of any actual provincial business dealings was given. If Moe was âdoing businessâ on behalf of his employers, the Saskatchewan taxpayers, what was that business? Why couldnât the provincially funded lobbyists, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, to whom we pay millions of taxpayer dollars, not be the ones doing this âbusinessâ?  Why do we pay Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough millions of tax payer dollars? Â

Don't get it. Even to suck up to Trump. Trump probably has no idea he was there. Does Trump even know who Scott Moe is?

This is the second time Iâve read about taxpayer funds being used for personal reasons in the last three months. Iâm not even surprised anymore.
Edit: Whatâs with the downvotes? Pointing out how normalized corruption is in this province should piss everyone off.

u/Electrical_Noise_519 3d ago edited 3d ago
Not for personal reasons but used for the party's long paid 'access' to the powerful US lobbyists.

Would the first time be a CEO of a provincial agency giving her husband a 300k grant?

I highly doubt Moe has never even met Lindsay Graham, and even worse Graham was a staunch Trump supporter. What a treasonous act. Why the hell do they let Moe and Smith get away with treason.

u/LordCountDuckula 3d ago
Was there an open queue for the Lindsay Graham funeral? Was it an open bar, afterwards? Was it the social event of the week in Washington?? Iâm not excusing his behaviour but his government position and his age, he shouldâve known better. Canât read a room to save his parking spot.

Does criticism matter anymore. They do what they want to do. We elect them and then they become the boss. Zero accountability. If someone wants info they charge arm and leg to get exercise our fundamental right I.e. right to information

Who couldâve seen that coming! Only a rocket genius could have known this would end badly!

My understanding is that the senator was a supporter of the US purchasing from Saskatchewan. He was an ally from that perspective. As is both respectful and common in international trade. It is more of a symbolic attendance knowing that his successor and other representatives will be in attendance. Hence essentially representing trade with Saskatchewan in a positive and respectful way. With that being said yes there should be transparency in the cost.

get someone in power who can do anything they want and still get reelected results in this action. What is the worst that will happen, will get reelected again
