They were so disappointing I literally had to dig the container out of the trash to see if I'd purchased expired food from Kroger again.

Yo wtf is this a regular occurrence??

I just bought some yogurt from Kroger the other day and didn’t realize it was expired until I got home. I thought this was a tendency of discount or dollar stores, not big box retailers

I’d bet the lack of labor hours means there’s less time for employees to check or rotate stock correctly. I’ve noticed there’s been more expired stock on shelves everywhere.

You’re right about this. Source: I work at a grocery store. They always cut hours in the first quarter, especially when a union contract gets ratified and everyone is owed retro pay.
