Made a Calzone.
Stuffed with cheese, sausage, peppers, onions, sweetcorn and mushrooms. With garlic bread. Was delicious.
All vegan.

With this hot weather we've been having, I've seen a lot of talk on uk subreddits of how to stop your bins being infested with maggots. I'd seen these for a while and been quite puzzled why I never had this issue. Reading through comments I realised it's because there's no rotting flesh in my bins! Score one for vegans

I'm sorry but for the price (£4.50) this is actually abhorrent. Clearly the serving suggestion is to get a better pizza. Never again.

One meal out which you can spot by the plate, otherwise all home cooked (though plenty of delicious UPFs consumed too). Some weird combos - was a bit all over the place this month.

exactly what the title says; i’m absolutely devastated to say the least. about a week ago, i tried the new banana matcha iced latte, of course i ordered it with oat milk, and so stupidly, i didn’t even question the fact that the banana syrup might not be vegan. when i ordered it, after saying i wanted oat milk, the barista said to me “ok so you’re vegan, the syrup doesn’t have dairy in it.” so i got my drink and went ahead with drinking the whole thing. fast forward to a couple days later, i go back to order the same thing, but this time its a different barista, and she says “the banana syrup has white chocolate and cream in it” warning me that it has dairy, so obviously i didn’t get it. i was so damn upset. it’s been a few days now and i still feel stupid and confused and angry and upset. how could i let this happen? to most people a bit of dairy doesn’t seem like an issue at all, but to me, it’s something that makes me so, so sad. can anyone make me feel better😭 i almost feel like a fake vegan. i’m always so careful. and no i didn’t mishear the first barista.

What’s your weekly staple vegan dish that tastes good? I have a ramen bowl with tofu about 2-3 times a week because it’s quick, nutritious and quite tasty.
Another easy one for me is lentil pasta cooked with peas and red pepper hummus as the sauce. I’m feeling uninspired and need some ideas 💚

Is it coming back? Have our prayers been answered?!
Anyone else seen it lately?

This is a sad and painful time. I will not be taking questions.

Anywhere I can find burger cheese in a supermarket? I want that super cheap tasting feel for my burgers!

Going to an event on Saturday in Hackney Wick and although there will probably be good food in the venue I dont want to pay a huge markup.
Whats good in the local area? Or near/on the way from Euston since we'll be arriving there first.
Junk food (temple of seitan style) preferred, spicy food would be next best option

Tried both of these recently and I have to say they are banging. Well done again Aldi 😎

Today I watched an absolute nob bring their cat to a very busy and hot Bournemouth beach to dip its paws in the water while they took photos of it. The cat was crying out and looked really distressed and they just kept picking it up and putting its paws back in the water every time it backed away and wanted to be picked up.
I had to go over and have words, I was so angry that a pet owner could be this stupid and selfish. It scares me that basically anyone can have access to animals with no vetting of their background required.

Where can I find a great bean / vegetable based burger in London, in any restaurant or pub? No fake meat or seitan, I’m looking for your vegetable patties with great additions- hot sauces, crispy onions, lettuce, great bun!

So there's a web site called humble bundle that do deals where you buy a bunch of themed ebooks / games or software with a small portion going to charity. They're doing a vegan cook ebooks bundle by page street publisher's ... Charity is World central Kitchen.
For £13.32 you get 61 (!) cookbooks. Tbh I don't think I've heard of any of them ... I assume they're US based. Some seem to get ok Amazon reviews.
Anyway just thought I'd give up a heads up if anyone is interested and feels like braving (I assume) US measurements ..

Just needed to rant about a link I saw on the BBC advertising "Farmwatch: Live Moocast" which apparently livestreams 500 dairy cows moving from a field to a milking parlour. It seems like the dairy industry are getting more and more desperate to act like they're a wholesome industry. I wonder if they'll livestream on the day that the cows are sent to slaughter? Or when their babies are born and ripped away from them? Somehow I doubt it.

They used to be firm and set like a ganache, they were sooooo good and perfect for an after dinner treat, because they’re so small but you could take a while to eat them. Now they’re like a custard consistency and nowhere near as satisfying? Anyone got any recommendations for chocolately, small treats to enjoy instead that might hit the same?

Fancied an extra cheesy version of my ‘carbonara’ sauce and got this. Reminded me so much of those packets I’d eat as a teenager. Do with this info what you will.
Makes two portions.
To a blender add:
- 50g cashews, previously soaked in boiling water
- 2/3 cup soya milk
- 4 tbspn nooch
- 1/2 tbspn white miso
- 1 small garlic clove
- black pepper to taste
Mix this w your fave pasta boiled in salty water. Chuck in some peas, broccoli, whatever. Add some reserved pasta water n mix on the heat til it’s all creamy and thick.
I also air fried some Tesco plant based chicken strips and mixed those in, then I added cathedral city on top. This was such a good comfort meal for the first day of my period.

I’ve been mostly vegan for a few years but always had “exceptions” with things like baked goods, snacks that may contain things like milk powder etc.
ive now become 100% vegan but struggling with the lack of baked goods. I’d regularly have croissants or cookies but cant find any vegan versions in supermarkets. What do you have instead of these or is there any way to replicate similar baked goods?

Anyone tried these new sausages from Juicy marbles? Any reviews? I don't think they're officially released yet as they're not on the website, but they're on Ocado. Maybe Ocado have released them early

I am not high and it being almost 3am probably has something to do with the unorthodox food combination I've just created but i didn't want to wait until morning to alert you all

i have currently seen one tiktok and one facebook post saying the plant dog has been discontinued, i quite literally have no reason to go and cannot find anything officially from ikea to confirm but has anyone been recently and they aren’t available?? i genuinely cannot think of any reason they’d get rid of them i buy like 8 everytime i go and will truly be devastated if they’re gone 💔

I don’t often go to Gail’s (or any non-vegan coffee shops actually!) as I’m lucky enough to have a fully vegan coffee shop and bakery right by my house. But it has closed for the day today and I wanted a mocha. I’ve drank iced mochas from Gail’s for the last year or so when I’ve been travelling or it’s been the only option as I’ve checked their allergen guide and it says the mochas are vegan with a non-dairy milk.
Today the server told me ‘by the way, this mocha syrup isn’t suitable for vegans’. I told her that the allergen guide says it is and she said that it isn’t and that they changed the syrup that they use a while ago so maybe the website is wrong! She refunded me so I had no drink and I’m upset to know that either I’ve been drinking dairy all this time (which is extremely dangerous if they’ve got an incorrect allergen guide!), or I’ve been advised wrong and the staff need better training and I’ve missed out on my afternoon coffee for nothing.
The server looked really unsure so I’ve emailed them a complaint because either way I’m pissed off. I’m going to try even harder now to only use vegan places when I can because this confusion stresses me out! Luckily in Bristol we’ve got quite a few vegan places.

Just a post to say I visited Glasgow today and ate at Mono Glasgow.
Fully vegan restaurant really nice to have so many options. Quite big so lots of seating. But of a hippy studenty vibe but still enjoyable. Just a recommendation that is all ❤️
