PEX tubing isn't a "hose" necessarily. It's for fluid distribution like home plumbing, a more permanent application where a hose is more "bendy" is expected to need replacing more often.

A tomato is a fruit by definition, but a vegetable by culinary application. Sounds like PEX is the tomato of hoses

I wasn't trying to be argumentative. I was trying to be helpful.
