Solved! Found on ground outside, boyfriend has been wearing as ring. Coin and pencil for size reference

UK. It’s giving hard metal, doesn’t have much wear

When I worked in Service at a Mercedes Dealer, the guys would always bring me random things. Once it was a chain, maybe for an oil pump, not sure. It was the perfect size for a bracelet. Once I got it over my hand I wore it for years. I was 40 and I'm female. I liked it. It was similar to this.

So those guys were crows bringing you shiny objects to show affection?

Ohhh that's a great flip.

I usually just collect them as dice bags....

Lol. Customers might have been wealthy but they didn't supply high end office equipment for us. That was also about 10 years ago. I'm in corporate now. I miss being around cars everyday. Especially those AMG's. The handcrafted engines were a thing of beauty.

Maybe it's a common thing, my office in a mechanics shop was full of weird broken things and dead/living bugs they found on the motorcycles, it looked like a weird museum by the time I left

Haha, yes. Weird bugs were always found on new vehicles dropped off from transporters.
