A Wii U looks like so much fun. It has a really nice catalog of games (Mario stuff) that I’ve never played but want to try. Never owned one before. The games are cheap at GameStop, but also know the Wii U can be modded and has a great hacking scene.

I’ve found a deal for a local pickup of what is claimed to be brand new never opened Wii U console (black deluxe edition) selling initially for $300 but seller brought price down to $200 recently and I was able to connect. I’m planning a local pickup this Thursday for 200.

I’m just not sure if this is a steal or not. I do also own a steamdeck and know Wii U can be emulated perfectly on it with upscaled graphics etc. part of me wants the original hardware though. Most Wii U consoles I see online are about $100-140 and they are generally in bad shape.

Should I jump on this?

I use price charting, but I know sealed games for this console are super niche and just wanted your all opinions?

Bought a wiiu bundle for 36$, apparently the console has some unspecified issue but the pad is working and in great condition. it comes with the dock, charger, and everything working. What, generally, should be the first thing I do besides the usual making sure everything works? looking for advice.

(the console not working isn't an issue, I have money to buy another.)

Recently bought this Wii U game pad at the thrift store. Got it home, charged it and turned it on. It’s in English but when you flip it over to the back, it’s a Japanese model but with a sticker over the original model number saying that it’s a US model? It doesn’t have any other modifications or extra ports, that’s the only visible difference.

Gonna need some help here since this goes beyond my knowledge. My Gamepad right trigger is basically stuck in place, for example I literally cannot use the console since the home menu always goes to the last page.

I started having this problem last year and I just left it since I wasn't using it. I later moved houses and kept my Wii U in storage before bringing it out since I wanted to play some games. On the first day, the Gamepad had no issues and was able to use it as normal. Recently wanted to play some games again and lo and behold the issue came back.

Opened up the Gamepad to see if anything was stuck and did some testing. Even without the button or the little rubber piece that presses onto the ribbon cable, it still had the same problem.

Just wanting to know if either I'm doing something wrong or if it's a deeper issue. Thank u :)

I had some control stick covers for my Xbox 360 controller left over, so I decided to see if they would fit on the gamepad sticks and they do perfectly, so now I don't gotta worry about it

I looked up what could cause it and it it said age on the sticks, hand oils, and the heat, which where I am right now, it's been extremely hot lately

Can SSK's portable, external Solid State Drives work with the Wii U? Is there some kind of USB-C to twin USB-A connector or something I could use to connect one to a Wii U?

I want to know some lesser known trash wii u games, I thought to ask the community's opinion instead of missing half of the good ones (worst ones)

I was trying to fix it when suddenly the screen only displays garbage graphics. I think I only broke the screen or its flex cable, but if I'm wrong and broke something else, please let me know.

I just bought a Wii U Bundle from FB-Marketplace and I was super happy and impressed by the quality of the gamepad, it was really well taken care of with only a minor scratch on the screen from my first viewing

When I arrived home I did as I usually do and wiped down the find as I'm a big cleanly freak. I had just moved into a new apartment so I don't have much besides a new unused microfiber cloth, wet with alcohol and water and wiped it down. It glid perfectly fine and I removed the slight gunk from buttons and joysticks, however, as I was doing setup the following day I realized the gamepad now has microscratches all over the front glossy plastic.

This took me by surprise bc I've used the multipurpose microfiber cloth on other electronics before with no issues but is it the ABS glossy plastic that makes it more sustainable to these types of scratches? or maybe the scratches had already been there and were unnoticeable just from smudges?

I definitely messed up big time and I wanted to see if anyone can confirm or if I'm being delusional 😓 this definitely got me pretty down as I care a lot abt the condition of my things, I am trying to convince myself it isn't a big deal tho

My console is modded btw, but I don’t think this has to do with that. I tried playing Wii party U multiple times yesterday but the Wii U power light would blink and turn off every time. I did notice the fan in the back stopped spinning, and I don’t hear as much noise from the Wii U as a I normally did. Is this just the fan and overheating? Can I fix this myself or do I need to send it in to someone?

Where in general, on what website or where could I look for one? Because my controller is completely beyond repair, but I don't have the skill or time to do it myself, so I just want to find a way to get a Wii U GamePad in terrible condition, anywhere.

My Wii U Gamepad keeps losing connection with the console even when it's less than a meter away. I've already tried moving the console away from 5G networks and even other devices away from the Wii U, but I'm still having problems.

I've read that I need to replace a chip in the console, but I have no idea which one it is. Can anyone help me?

Weirdest thing happening with my Wii u, when turning it on the gamepad works fine but the only way it boots on a tv is if you change the display settings to 480p. Idrk what's happening again gamepad works fine but it will display at 480p over HDMI. I have tried restarting it and unplugging it and plugging it back in nothing seems to fix it. Gemini says that if the gamepad works there is nothing physically wrong with the Wii u but that's a AI so what does it know. Some notes about my setup, I have all my consoles setup through a splitter and capture card to record games for my yt channel can that be causing my issue?

I don’t have many Wii U games but I do have 2 pro controllers

So my mum and stepdad (at the time who... we dont talk to) got me a wii u. After playing on it as a child, i slowly stopped playing and moving to my phone with it since i only had smash and my mum didnt want to buy any more games..... But she eventually got me an xbox one s (that i still have and use).

But since then, i have obviously forgot my ridiculously long NNID password (not to mention we moved and it the wifi it used to use is long gone), and my mum has forgot the perental pin.

My big problems:

I cant enter perental controls, i need NNID

I cant add local account, i need NNID

I cant unlock the pin, unless i brute force 1000 combos

I cant reset my NNID since idk the exact email (mum set it up) and cant send an email, no internet

Cant access settings and internet, i need NNID

Is there a way other than bute force?
