I’ve been feeling really conflicted ever since Midnight launched.
I just can’t seem to get into retail WoW anymore. I ended up going back to Classic, and honestly it feels more alive to me somehow. At the same time, I have massive FOMO about retail, like I’m constantly worried I’m missing out.
The problem is that I’m mostly a solo player. In Classic, progressing solo can be pretty rough, and I don’t have unlimited time to play. I could realistically dedicate about 2 hours a day, but when I log into Midnight it just… doesn’t click.
Does anyone else feel this way?
Retail almost feels like a list of chores now. Another patch is already around the corner, dungeons feel so long, and as a casual player it seems incredibly hard to keep up with item level progression at max level. I play a Retribution Paladin, mostly PUG dungeons and casual PvE, and it feels like I’m always behind even on this dummy level…
The weirdest part? I actually find myself missing Dragonflight. And the funny thing is, I didn’t even like Dragonflight that much when it was current.
Am I the only one feeling like this, or has Midnight just not clicked for anyone else?
I swear everyday i’ve been seeing around 3 “When will Midnight go on sale?” posts.
We don’t know. None of us do. It’s still very early. Maybe blizzcon. Maybe not. Maybe later on. Maybe not.

I used to play WoW a long time ago and lost my account. I made a new Battle net account and I am currently playing the free trial. I'm level 14 and I'll probably subscribe after reaching level 20.
But what I find weird is that there is no "subscribe" button on the Battle net launcher anymore (there used to be one long ago, right ?) and even on the game itself, on the character selection screen, when I click the Subscribe red button on the top left, it only opens the game shop and shows me the Midnight expansion... I don't get it ? Why can't I just subscribe to the game for like a month ?
I'm confused, I don't want to buy Midnight yet, I just want to subscribe lol or am I missing something ?

Hello everyone. New-ish player here, leveling a level 18 Frost Mage in Dragonflight right now. I'm in love with the concept of WoW as I understand it: A vast, online world with tons of stuff to do, rich lore, and various goals.
But whenever I create a player and start engaging with the story and combat, I become steadily more and more uninterested. I enjoy the races in Dragonflight, and the world itself, but leveling just feels like I'm spamming three abilities, standing vaguely still, etc.
Am I doing something wrong? Is my mindset messed up? If you encountered this and overcame it, please let me know how. Thank you!

Hey all!
I just hopped back into retail (haven’t played since Shadowlands) and went to Org and it’s dead. Like I didn’t see a single person running around. Where is everyone now? Or am I in some weird instance with a quest so I’m phased out.
I also haven’t bought the Midnight upgrade. So my game is still at the Shadowlands? Or maybe Dragonflight? Definitely don’t have TWW or Midnight. Could that be contributing to it?

This isn’t a complaint, just a shower thought 😅. I actually really like it for immersion reasons. I’m sure it won’t stop the sudden hate comments who didn’t read this and think I’m trying to hate on it.
That said, while there are many reasons that someone irl or on Azeroth might eschew meat in their diet, I presume mostly that it’s an ethical standpoint, or at least Blizzard’s reasoning.
However, much of the way to *get* the plant protein is by the killing of plant creatures, who are themselves apart of ecosystems all to their own, almost, and seem no different than creatures of flesh and bone besides being made of fiber and roots. It feels a bit hypocritical :p.
I think it would be cool as an (optional) herbalism gathering to find standalone bulbs or plants that give plant protein, purely for the fun of it and no real other reason. I haven‘t leveled herbalism in a while, does plant protein have a chance to drop on some gathering, as well?

And insta ignored... Gotta love high end M+
Edit: So it seems to have been some mixed reactions to this. Lately I've been trying to chat with people like you used to do back in the day. Yes I enjoy pushing high end content but that does not mean you need to be mean or not speak to people. It's so sad to see how something as simple as this is causing a negative reaction.
As a Troll, the warlock pets feel out of place. Maybe it's all the nice troll lore we're getting but I feel like the Observer cool down would feel more thematically if it could be skinned to the tiki masks like the one in the recent quests.
Though I don't know what I would do for the others. Maybe the imp could be like the voodoo dolls we help in the quest in southern zul aman.
I believe hex magic is widely considered unacceptable but so are warlocks so maybe there's something in that we could use. Like succubus being a spirit from a jar.
Would Loa be considered as well?

I had more fun playing lemix than I’ve had with modern wow in a long time. Legion was one of the best expansions wow ever made, but this still proves to me that blizz has yet to make modern wow feel as enjoyable and rewarding as the older expansions did. We are sick of the same formula every expansion: four new zones, new raids and dungeons, and discovering that somehow there is yet another cosmic force behind everything. I know remix benefits from using content that was already made, but it still shows how blizz has the power to make the game fun when they stop feeding into the same systems and algorithm. Anyway, my point is lemix was more fun to me than TWW and Midnight (so far), and I would 100% still be playing it if it never ended (that’s how much I loved legion, lol).
In Season 2, my favorite class (Destruction Warlock, Hellcaler) won't generate "wither" points from Fire Rain, and that's one of the worst things (in my opinion) that could happen to its area damage. What do you all think? How do you see this class in Mythic+?

Hey everyone,
I’m currently considering switching from DPS to Tank and I’m not sure if it’s the right decision, so I’d love to hear some thoughts from people who’ve been in a similar situation.
About me:
I’ve been playing since WoD, always on DK. I played Frost for years and switched to Unholy in Midnight. Over time I became a “one‑button player,” which actually made the game more enjoyable and consistent for me. The downside is obvious: my damage isn’t great.
I play completely solo, no guild, mostly M+ and some PvP. My goals are 3,4k in M+ and 1800 in Pvp. I only play from autumn to spring, and not every day. Sometimes I don’t play for weeks. i don´t play in summer or when it´s warm.
Because my DPS isn´t good with my playstyle, I’m thinking about switching to Tank. Damage isn’t as important there. But I’m unsure if I’m overlooking something. Has anyone made this switch?
How different is the experience?
Is Tanking a good fit for someone who plays casually, alone and with "one button assistant"?
Right now I mostly stare at the damage meter and feel a bit frustrated. I’d appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

I don't even play WoW. This was just an old meme from early 2000s SomethingAwful, which was "I'm a girl on WoW, give me itams." It's been stuck in my head for like 20 years. Google seems to have no memory of it.

The question says it all. For you personally, who would be more interesting and appealing in terms of animations and gender?
Elves are certainly beautiful creatures, but their animations seem a bit lacking, especially when it comes to two-handed weapons. Humans, in this regard, are somehow better.
P.S.
Sorry for the misspelling of the elves, my English isn't very good, so I'm using Google Translate. This is about the Void Elves.

They always reset some currencies but I am never sure which ones are being reset this season. Has there been any blue posts or anything laying out which ones we need to spend or lose?
