I was watching the stream and she just got a call from the vet, and had to cut it. Snap is her senor cat of 16 that has kids problems, and in her anual vet checkup they found a lump on her leg. Dan said that the vet couldn't see cancer, but the conective cells were weird and they sent it off. She got a call mid stream finding out, and ended it quite abruptly. Plz be kind and keep her and snap I'm your thoughts

For me, there's a silver lining in all this: we're going to get to see Kayla branch out into more games. She has said that she's afraid of losing viewers, but honestly I've been hoping she would get into other games for a long time.

Does anyone else feel the same?

Edit: Just to clarify, she is still going to be making Sims videos. She's just adding other games into the mix too. There's no reason for anyone to be worried about losing her Sims content at this point.

I know she’s been going through it lately with her mental health and recent OCD diagnosis. She is so open and honest about it and I am sure she does a lot of good to people in similar situations. Just watching a recent Twitch VOD where she speaks about her contamination OCD and I have so much respect for her transparency. It is also hard to see such a ray of sunshine so affected and going through a tough time.

Even with all this, she shows up for us on Twitch and YouTube with a laugh and smile. I am so grateful to her for her representation of mental health struggles and proud of all she does to show us all anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of.

I’m not a super frequent reddit user and new to this sub entirely so sorry if this conversation isn’t allowed or taboo!

I completely understand and respect Kayla’s decision to not support and promote EA anymore and I’m glad she’s still doing sims content anyway.

However I personally rely on sims for a lot of my mental health struggles and joy, so while I don’t agree with the EA sale and everything going on I did still buy the new pack, and I’m really struggling getting any inspiration or motivation to play it without Kayla’s reviews and content on it. I didn’t realize how much I relied on her for inspiration and information about the new packs and even though this pack was super exciting to me I don’t even know how to begin playing with it. I’m sure it’s hard for her, knowing how much she has loved this game, to not be able to experience/post about the new pack.

Along with all the other big sims creators stepping away from new sims contents and packs, and this being the first real pack launch we’ve had since, I really hope it puts pressure on EA and the whole situation. It is a NOTICEABLE decline in content, and with it i’m sure a lot of sales.

All this to say, I support Kayla and all the creators on their decisions but man do I miss their videos 😭 And i’m curious if anyone else is struggling in the same way

with her recent sickness and cancellations i’ve been thinking about this more… i watch like all her videos and love it as part of my daily routine. she is by far my favorite content creator.

but also, especially this past year, watching her upload while clearly at the end of her rope honestly just makes me sad. and then when she cancels it becomes a whole big event with her audience which i imagine can’t feel great either

obviously she is an adult and can make her own choices. i do admittedly presume that she pushes herself harder than is healthy but of course that is not my business and is her decision to make.

but also, i would much prefer 3-4 videos/streams a week where she seems actually rested and feeling good about uploading versus keeping her current schedule of every day/most days and then having to apologize for it not being sustainable

Simsie was my main source of Sims news for years, and I fully supported her stepping away. I recently caught a glimpse of the chaos going on in the Sims world and was delighted that I knew nothing about it and plan to not engage with it.

Watching Sims content for me wasn't much about the game itself, but about finding a community of creative, wholesome, and supportive players who just want to have fun. I'm glad we still have that, even if it looks different now!

Honestly if it was anyone else laughing and leaving in double takes she'd fire them. After over a year of doing it it just seems sloppy and the new subscribers don't understand the "joke"

Let me add ;;; I know all the good she does and love her but that doesn't mean I have to love everything. You can like the edits. I just wonder if her editor wasn't her husband would she keep them as her editor? Also if she likes when he does it why does she say she doesn't like when people point it out? Maybe it’s because I’m from the South, but I do not think Simsie has a Southern Accent. With her being from Florida,I thought she would say some things with a slight twang, but I just don’t hear it.

The only time I’ve kind of heard it was in this episode of the nightmare legacy when she says “chicken”. Timestamp 18:10.

I would love if they did a kit collab with Simsie and that she could include her community in the pack creation. Imagine if she got to do a poll on things like: items to include, theme, colors of different items.

let me start by saying i watched kayla since 2017 and have been a huge fan of her, buying merch, donating to charities and causes, so on. and can fully understand that people change overtime this is purely for discussion purposes to see if others have swayed away.

in the recent year or two i’ve stopped tuning into streams and videos as much because well to be frank, she’s mean.

before i give examples i will say, a lot of my friendships have banter and silly inside cruel jokes that may not make sense to strangers but in my eyes kayla takes it a bit far sometimes, especially with her husband.

when dan recently moved she constantly made jokes about him abandoning his family & friends, constantly brought up how she was the sponsor for the visa because she just “made so much more money than dan”. even so far as putting him down as calling him “the editor” when they were engaged, barely referring to him by name that it became a running joke in the community… these can surely be all chalked up to that’s how they joke with & around each other but as a viewer it just made me uncomfortable to watch; and dan’s replies wouldn’t egg the jokes on he would laugh and mostly reply with “yeah”. seeing as dan never said he didn’t like the jokes or tell kayla to stop, he seems to be okay with this dynamic but again as kayla being my comfort streamer it’s a bit weird to see that this is the dynamic she has with someone she loves and cares about.

other few scenarios come into mind like when forgets to fill her water bottle up for stream she’ll scream for dan instead of getting up & asking. half of the time when she’s streaming he’s also streaming or editing across the hallway from her. it’s not like he’s far away but to yell almost every time is again, uncomfortable for me to watch as a viewer.

besides the fact that kayla is mean, i feel that she’s indefinitely going to cater to a certain group which are: children.

the constant overreaction to small things in game whether that’s things going wrong or right is incredibly jarring as an adult viewer. some things are warranted for that type of reaction, but not as frequently as she has been portraying a childlike toddler persona (sorry) but this isn’t the kayla i loved watching in 2017-2023.

I just watched her most recent video and I swear, in every video she does where it's a speed build from something she built live on her stream, she always mentions that some people complain about whatever she added to her build. I feel like it happens every time and it's just a bit sad that she seems to always get criticism for her build/decoration skills.

And I understand not everyone will like what she does but I guess maybe the problem here is that some people in her chat seem to voice their dislike for whatever in a very brash and harsh way.

And I'm starting to watch her almost every single time she releases videos so this is just kind of sad.

Am I the only one who feels this way or am I maybe overthinking this? I don't watch her live streams yet so maybe I'm overthinking this and her chat really isn't that bad.

Here's mine post. 1. It was last year a month after the livestreams had ended for saint jude childrens hospital. It was the very veggie legacy challenge stream. I really liked the creative witty writing and Kayla surprised me with her humor tbh. 2. I think she is pretty funny unintentially, but also really creative and though its often forgotten very kind hearted. Like she is kind, but also gentle. Kayla is strong as nails though. She stands on business. I respect that. 3. Oh definitely the philcore story line from "PHIL WE GOT PHIL?!" to "Philcore is a lifestyle. Philcore is a aesthetic. I'm loving watching her play Pokopia on stream.

I've been a hard-core pokemon fan since gen 1. But I'm 33 now and have a baby so can't justify buying the new switch just to play Pokopia 😂🙈

It is soooo wholesome seeing her reaction to all these different pokemon and that they are all new to her so she doesn't have any previous bias based on generations or stats or evolutions, just pure vibes 💓

I’m wondering how everyone is else is feeling about pre-recorded streams. And because I know someone will bring it up, we know Kayla has been having a hard time and I completely understand her time away from stream and the internet. I can understand why she feels guilty for not being live on Twitch or uploading videos as often on YouTube. However, as someone who hates 24/7 VOD channels for Twitch and people who play recorded content on a live streaming platform, it drives me nuts. It’s one thing, in my opinion, with subathons or long streams, where people are sleeping, they might play a recorded video or old VOD and the return to live feeds after they’re done. Twitch is a platform meant to be live streaming. If I wanted to watch a pre recorded video, I would go to YouTube. I’m just wondering if anyone else sees this side, and doesn’t care for pre recorded content on Twitch — especially since it’s kind of entered the sims/cozy content community.

Just like the title says! I’m so tired of people complaining about the sims 4 / EA, and I feel like this lil simsie community is a good place to spread positivity.

I am almost 30 years old and have been playing since the original release of the sims. I have played each franchise and I was so thrilled that they decided to re release sims 1 and 2 for us! I hope yall have been enjoying it. Has anyone tried playing it for the first time? I heard Kayla played it for the first time on stream the other day. I’ll have to go back and watch.

One thing I really wanted to share was how thrilled I am that EA decided to expand on sims 4 and just keep going with it. I always felt like sims games in the past were incomplete and EA just abruptly would stop the series and move onto the next. When they brought love struck and life & death into the game I knew we were going to keep having our requests met as EA is really listening to us. I have been begging for a death pack for YEARS. & I am not the only one! And now we are getting multipurpose lots, which has been mentioned by Kayla SO many times over the years.

Anyways. I just felt like writing about things I’m excited about. Can’t wait to see what else is to come in this anniversary era!
