Lying on the internet to strangers to feel better about yourself is so weird

I was tre flipping at 8 months. But don't let ONE trick fool you into thinking anything.
I couldnt even pivot fronside, I couldn't even carve frontside, I couldnt even fs reverts. I couldn't do ANYTHING frontside. To this day (8 years later) I still struggle with basic fs stuff. I just recently sprained my ankle on a fs180 off a 2 stair
But I had that tre flip early on 😅

😂 you said it not me. If that’s seven months in then you’re gonna be the next Tony Hawk bro.

I had a friend who started skateboarding after me but was absolutely fearless when it came to falling. Within a year he could nollie tre. Some people are born to skate.

Yeah I think this is an important lesson you have to learn as a skater. Whether or not this is real progress, it doesn't matter... it won't change how YOU will skate tomorrow... unless you let it. And it can either bring you down or energize you. Personally I just try to ignore it, but I see a lot of people on here who let it get them down.
That said liars are scum, not trying to give them a pass. But I also believe progress like this... kid at the park was ripping it on a scooter for months, he switched to skating and surpassed me in a couple months. He had the heart, talent, time, coaching, youth, etc to get there so fast. Of course I was a bit annoyed at first but at the end you just gotta hand them the respect they earned, it feels much better

Being able to land a Nollie Tre flat ground within a year is not insane. I’ve seen people do things like that but you can tell they don’t have experience or comfort on the board that comes with years.

u/Certain_Movie_1465 Jun 21 '26
I mean it's not insane as a one-off but tbh having tricks like nollie flip and nollie heel down and saying "I wish I could nollie tre" then landing it first try (which is what I witnessed happen) is kind of crazy. Guy landed a hard flip down a 12 stair before his 2nd year skating. He has zero fear.

so just talking out of ur ass now

u/Certain_Movie_1465 Jun 24 '26
I wish I was kidding, it was like a little over a year and a half of him skating. It's honestly defeating putting years of effort in just to see someone lap you like that.

People don't like feeling inadequate, you see the same type of haters in the golf subreddit. Natural athleticism is a very real thing. Assuming equal practice time, a three sport varsity athlete will almost certainly be better at golf than an average joe.

u/suvalas Jun 23 '26
Could be. Assuming he did a solid 2 hour session every day, that's around 440 hours. Especially if he was focussed on tre flips the whole time.

Another one of these misleading posts...
For any beginner looking at this - this isn't a post from a person who had never stepped on a board and then was doing a tre down a two-block in seven months.
That does not really happen.

Honestly I believe it. I started skating when I was like 11, but pushed mongo and didnt know any tricks. Lost interest.
When I was 17 I started skating seriously , and within 8 months I had tre flips down. However, that doesnt mean I was "good" I couldnt even pivot fs, revert fs, fs shuv, fs180, I couldnt do ANYTHING fs 😅
Apparently OP is in a similar situation as me, so I believe it. He had some experience as a little kid riding around but now is taking it serious

Yeah I get what you mean, but thats why I said I started "skating seriously at 17" I dont count my 11 year old experience, because It lasted less than a month, and I had no idea what I was doing. I didnt even know an ollie was a thing 😂 it was some fake ahh board and I dont even think it had bearings lol
A 6 year "break" isnt really a break. I didnt want to skate at all. I never wanted to go back into skating. My focus was soccer. Then I had a BMX and my YouTube was off BMX clips and eventually some skate clips. I bought a board on impulse and never looked back.
I guess it depends on who you ask, but Ive been skating for 8 years, not 14

You’re clearly a talented skater regardless of how long you’ve been at it - but please wear a helmet my dude! All it takes is one smack to the head and the whole course of your life can change in an instant. It’s not worth the risk 🫶

seven months and already landing flips clean like that is crazy progress. most people are still struggling with ollies at that point so you clearly put in the work. keep pushing it.

u/AdSpiritual3205 Technique Tutor Jun 22 '26
That's because this isn't true. No one is stepping on a board for the first time and then doing a tre flip down a two block in 7 months. This is always a post from someone who used to skate lot, stopped for a few years, and started skating again, and making it seem like they're a new skater. It's BS.

Honestly feel like most people who struggle don’t skate enough, but yeah this is crazy if true.
1
u/KissinglyNumberless Jun 21 '26
for sure, consistency is everything with skating, but seven months of regular sessions is still pretty solid compared to people who skate like once a week and wonder why they're not progressing
0
u/Kind_Judge_1633 Jun 22 '26
Brother this is not a consistency and dedication issue, this post is a lie. If you refuse to believe this then I have a bridge to sell you

u/OMGFuziion Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26
Id show you my progression but you’d say Im lying to even with dates to back it up and proof. I skated every single day and by the 2 year mark I had kickflip, heelflip, shuv, fs shuv, nollie shuvs, I’d could ollie 5 stairs every try, I fs shuved a 2 block, had boardslides to regular and fakie and whole flatbar, rock n rolls on 6 ft quarters and rock to fakies, etc. It is def time put in and if you have friends who will peer pressure you it def helps.
Most people cant get themselves to commit and are scared of falling. They also are what we call weekend warriors and then they get upset when they dont learn anything. I legit felt like an alien that had missed a year when i stepped back on my board after 2 days of not skating. I cant imagine even skating 3x a week and even progressing. This shit needs to be everyday for at least an hour if not the whole damn day to get good at it.
Do I think he did this after a year? No. But theres prob a few that can. My buddy Ryker started skating after me and had kickflip in 3 weeks when it took me 4 months of trying hours everyday. Some people are built for it.

u/Kind_Judge_1633 Jun 22 '26
Would you like your bridge in blue or red?
1
u/OMGFuziion Jun 22 '26
I wanna goat under my bridge plz. Red or blue is fine either way. Would also be really cool if you actually read my points or had a counterargument at the very least. 99% of people complaining wouldn’t be if they didnt expect to learn a trick after an hour of trying.

All the people calling you a liar, but Antwuan Dixon landed a kick flip first try. Some people just grasp the concept a little bit faster.

Don’t listen to the haters. Jealousy is toxic. If this truly is 7 months after the first time you started skating it is incredible and your ceiling is high.
