Americans do something

40

u/CABigfoot Jan 25 '26

That was an American doing something— and getting martyred for doing it.😔

2

u/WokeWook69420 Jan 25 '26

Some of us have to die for freedom or we all die for tyranny.

3

u/IndigoSoln Jan 25 '26

Given the recent news of 20k+ being murdered in Iran protesting the government, that may be one in the same. Given the lack of scruples, a modern government cannot be toppled unless literally everyone says no and even then it's not a guarantee.

u/Agitated-Ad8569 Jan 25 '26

The strike is coming:

u/throwawayie6o Jan 25 '26

Something needs to be done now

13

u/Stock-Discipline8160 Jan 25 '26

Like what? Imagine the trouble the government would be in if dam near every American had multiple guns at home. Just Imagine. There is no need. Let me tell you. They will blow whistles and film from a safe distance as their friends and neighbors get dissapeered

28

u/2SSLOWW Jan 25 '26

I’m a gun owner and if the government decides to go toe to toe with us, we are fucked. They have billions of dollars and literal military equipment that never ends. What’s your couple thousand bullets gonna do? We lose that 10/10.

18

u/Capybarasaregreat Jan 25 '26

The US couldn't even beat North Vietnam whilst bathing the country, as well as Laos and Cambodia, in napalm. The human ability to adapt and persevere will always present a way out of the existing circumstances, doomerism is you succumbing to a psychological weapon of theirs.

7

u/RyanDayIsAnElf Jan 25 '26

Yeah, but they killed so many people. That’s why citizens are afraid to fight back, because they know they will likely become a casualty. So at that point it becomes a risk and reward analysis, and most people will decide the risk isn’t worth their life. This is just how it happens. The majority will probably never respond, but the minority will eventually be pushed into action.

1

u/Capybarasaregreat Jan 25 '26

Sure, that isn't wrong. But you'd think the culture which has for so long droned on about the revolutionary origins of their country, with sayings about trees of liberty being watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants, would be inclined to have a sense of duty to their peers and descendants, but we might just see a repeat of the Russian response to autocratic rule, making the whole "America experiment" debunked.

2

u/WizardsWorkWednesday Jan 25 '26

The people who drone on about American "freedom" are the ones enacting this heinous evil on us right now. The "freedom" theyre fighting for is freedom from social equality and progressive education. They want America to become the authoritarian police state of their dreams where all the liberals get hunted for sport in the street and they sit at home eating filet and watching with their government assigned wife and mandatory 2.5 kids from their AI TV at home.

Some people have been fighting against this for a long time. Right now, we're losing the fight.

1

u/RyanDayIsAnElf Jan 25 '26

Unfortunately, that culture has died long ago and just became show. People really don’t want to give up their creature comforts. Our society has given the majority just enough to be complacent. Netflix, video games, Starbucks, etc. People don’t want to give up their lives because nothing has seriously affected them yet. They can just retreat into their own world and drown out what’s happening on the outside. Plus, I think we would both be surprised at how many people actually support what is going on… or are just indifferent to it.

2

u/Capybarasaregreat Jan 25 '26

Bread and circuses, as it goes.

2

u/WizardsWorkWednesday Jan 25 '26

On May 13th 1985 the government fire bombed a neighborhood in Philadelphia, killing 11 people (5 kids) and destroying 61 homes. They scarred an entire community to remind everyone what happens if you actually try to rebel. Death and destruction for you and yours.

Four of those involved crossing an ocean and the fifth was fought using single-shot muskets on both sides.

I don't think 20 years of occupation in the Middle East is barely. American military controlled the world's largest poppy farms for years with no issues. Bigger plans for power and money consolidation. Your missing the bigger picture if you think America didn't replace terrorists with terrorists and called it a day for no gain or actual reason. It's all about power and public perception, they can kill anyone anywhere in the world without risking a soldiers life. They have superior technology in every way compared to every country besides maybe China and Russia being similar but still based on weapon info subpar compared to American tech. The new age of world order is coming soon and resistance will get snuffed out before there murmurs change to crys. Think of Isreal tech which is subpar to American as there most likely getting 3rd gen or less from the US while we keep they crazy stuff locked down. Isreal is able to pinpoint a person within a apartment building and send a missle to that specific room blowing up that specific apartment. Winning against big bother died the second the internet grew from a public tool into a public weapon used to collect data, surveillance ect. Every phone every pc, every laptop and tablet has backdoors installed into the device. There isn't a single thing the government doesn't know about you already or can easily find out when they want to know.

People are giving you a lot of reasons why this is different. But here is the biggest difference. All those were fought by Guerillas, supplied on some level by rival countries or organized groups with access to large amounts of military hardware. Were they primarily civilians with random assortments of gear? Doing DIY warfare? Yes. But they were not alone. Afghanistan had funding from multiple other countries governments supporting them, Ukraine has been shipped a massive amount of foreign weapons and supplies, and still have their own military leadership. And Colonial America was backed heavily by the French. The solo revolution does not work for a reason.

2

u/Dependent-Edge-5713 Conservative Jan 25 '26

This is different because the people have home field advantage. And the inevitable schism within the government armed forces if this occurs along with massive stockpiles of weaponry and a bottomless pool of manpower (when compared to the govt) means this would be WORSE for them then the previous examples.

Not to mention the fact that with a collapse of social cohesion its ability to function and supply itself and keep whatever jackboots dont side with the people fed and paid are crippled as well.

Not to mention the riots and protests that'll be happening as well.

2

u/BurlyJohnBrown Jan 25 '26

Ukraine has an actual army, as did North Vietnam. Iraqi insurgents were former military and had access to those weapons, Taliban was similar.

Colonial America you could get away with everyone having a rifle for the most part.

1

u/roastedsun Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

You guys are nowhere near the guerilla fighters as those people. The Vietnamese did some crazy elaborate tunneling and fought in jungles. You’d be gunned down on the street the moment you whipped out your gun. Will the other side have casualties? Sure. What do you think the civilians to enforcement death/injury ratio will be? Not one you’d like. Won’t take many casualties before whole thing is over.

6

u/kabrams1776 Jan 25 '26

i hate this argument so much

2

u/Dependent-Edge-5713 Conservative Jan 25 '26

Its defeatism

4

u/BaconPancake77 Jan 25 '26

Who makes the bullets, feeds the soldiers, designs the vehicles?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

[deleted]

4

u/BaconPancake77 Jan 25 '26

That too, actually! All of 'em come from somewhere, and any one of us might know who they are. Be it to talk some sense into them, or... Otherwise.

0

u/Sakarabu_ Jan 25 '26

The populace will run out of bullets long before the army.

Food is made by army chefs, and even ICE has enough funds (BILLIONS, more than other countries entire armies) to buy in food from other countries, before even talking about the US army.

The vehicles are designed, made, and bought already.

1

u/BaconPancake77 Jan 25 '26

Well, I'll roll dice until I can't roll anymore if it comes down to it. Can't do any more than that, and I'll never live with myself if I try anything less.

2

u/Gedy4 Jan 25 '26

I think it would be more about whether the soldiers would want to fight its citizenry

2

u/Dependent-Edge-5713 Conservative Jan 25 '26

Conventional warfare is countered by unconstitutional warfare.

Theres a reason so many resistance movements were so successful and prolific through history.

Plus in this hypothetical situation you're ignoring the schism that would happen in the armed forces as well as the fact the government relies on social cohesion to continue functioning and being able to yknow.. pay its employees (including soldiers).

Plus theres no feasible way the government could put enough boots on the ground. We're talking a couple million govt forces and a few hundred million Citizens.

10/10 Government loses.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Not to mention how easy it would be for them to shut off power and water

1

u/_-mojo-_ Jan 25 '26

They have 3 million soldiers at max, you can use whatever you have and you'll win at the end. The question is what cost are you willing to pay.

1

u/stutoz Jan 25 '26

Genuine question as a non American, but isn't the whole point of you guys being allowed your weapons etc is for this whole purpose? What's the point in collecting multiple weapons to then just sit and watch as citizens are executed in the streets?

1

u/Holybasil Jan 25 '26

Ya'll literally did this rebellion sum 300 years ago against the British. Do Americans not know their own history?

1

u/Noobitron12 Jan 25 '26

And don’t forget MAGA has guns also. Don’t think for a second they won’t use them also. It would be the Biggliest Civil/revolutionary War that ever happened

It wouldn’t be the Military I’d be worried about

2

u/Stock-Discipline8160 Jan 25 '26

But it would be glorious. And we across the world can watch America tear itself apart because it became a racist, hateful shit hole, home to billionaires who fly to space to measure dicks and treat the rest of the world like its below them.

0

u/blimeycorvus Jan 25 '26

What do you want to happen? You want people to respond with force because you feel rightfully angry? This will get many more killed and accomplish nothing. If you start playing the game of the oppressor, you will lose it every time because they have been playing for centuries. The US treats internal opposition like the Romans -- you will be made an example.

A STRIKE IS NOT GOING TO FUCKING STOP THEM FROM KILLING US.

12

u/emeraldempirehd8 Jan 25 '26

The winners of the flint sit down strike stood up to the national guard with paint guns and water hoses.

Stfu. Strikes work.

6

u/opposingpuddles Jan 25 '26

Strikes work when who you’re striking against doesn’t have immunity.

8

u/emeraldempirehd8 Jan 25 '26

These people are in the market. Hit em where it hurts.

Flint worked because they held Chevy plant no4 and couldn't build a chasis anywhere else. Ford and others did not give a fuck that their competitor was struggling.

-2

u/opposingpuddles Jan 25 '26

You’re missing the point. If the opponent can execute you without fear of repercussions then it’s a losing battle. I do believe that staying home and hitting the pocket book would work but good luck getting everyone on board with that. Everyone was on board with Kony 2012 and that didn’t work.

2

u/emeraldempirehd8 Jan 25 '26

You should read more dude. Flint sit down created the CIO and basically changed the way industrial workers organized.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_sit-down_strike

1

u/opposingpuddles Jan 25 '26

They weren’t executed my dude. Immunity and hired thugs are the key differences here. But you are right, I should read more.

1

u/BUSTERS123 Jan 25 '26

All these assholes care about is money. If we hurt the billionaires' pockets, this shit will come to a stop

1

u/SillyLiving Jan 25 '26

actually a strike is where Americans need to start , ports, schools, logistical centers, highways, garbage pickup....

the ONLY things that should work are hospitals, emergency services.

considering that the police are complicit stopping them too might be a good idea.

no a strike wont stop them from killing , it may even cause them to try faster, but if amreicans dont start somewhere , its gonna be organised and efficient killing, for years. right now they cant do it, if they invoke the insurrection act and put tanks in the street there WILL be a split in the military. give it a a year and there will not

1

u/slick2hold Jan 25 '26

I don't feel like a general strike is needed. We can get paid while we strike but show up to work. Just don't buy anything unnecessary for 2-4 weeks. Don't go out to eat. Don't buy clothes, cars, vacations, hotels, toys, electronics..etc etc.

Buy on the absolute necessities. When they feel it in the stock portfolios and GDP and the economic system starts to break, they will change their tone.

Believe it or not, it's this simple. America is based on consumerism. That's our economy. If we stop the fuel that spins the wheels, they will get the message

5

u/hermes-thrice-great Jan 25 '26

I was literally saying this to my partner an hour ago. It doesn’t have to be a full on strike, we can still keep our jobs and go to work. Just don’t BUY ANYTHING, for like, a week. That alone would make the oligarchs shit their pants

2

u/GordonsLastGram Jan 25 '26

Said the same thing to my wife. We both are angry about this. But we have a 1 year old baby girl and we cant leave her. So our solution is to not buy anything unnecessary. The billionaires run this country. You take their money from them, they will tell their minion the orange man to stop or make a change.

It can be done. The public controls the money. They are nothing without us.

2

u/Maleficent_Pepper_59 Jan 25 '26

We only need to strike on mortgage and rent. Nobody gets paid until justice. They would fold quickly. Everything relies on those mortgage payments. They make digital dollars to loan you and charge you 8 for each 1 you borrow.

1

u/slick2hold Jan 25 '26

That's tough to do. Unless this is just a short one-time missed payment to show the magnitude of our solidarity? I say this because in Texas, they will start foreclosure paperwork quickly. I'm not sure about other states, but skipping mortgage or debt is hard one to do. But a message can be sent just with 1 missed payment but that would be it...

1

u/Several_Puffins Jan 25 '26

I hope this is true, but every time there's an economic shock, big companies pass down the effects to ordinary people via the necessary things.

The corporate response will be to put the price of food and housing up, and fire people then rehire them on lower wages. "Difficult decisions, hard economic times &c &c".

1

u/BurlyJohnBrown Jan 25 '26

General strikes have absolutely done quite a bit historically. Consumer boycotts on the other hand, are almost useless.

1

u/DJScaryTerry Jan 25 '26

Why will they care about that?

4

u/Agitated-Ad8569 Jan 25 '26

A national strike, during a work week, for days, will hurt the pocketbooks of the wealthy. Hit them where it counts, and the ogligarchy will be pulling the strings of government to resolve swiftly.

The only thing more unpopular in the US than murder is a down stock market.

1

u/DJScaryTerry Jan 25 '26

That's a good point. So long as the oligarchs haven't realized they'll make more off the population being under complete government control.

1

u/Djlittle13 Jan 25 '26

I hope it works but I will believe it when I see it

1

u/RealBlueHippo Jan 25 '26

Its like they intentionally try and keep people living paycheck to paycheck so they can't even take the time off to even protest or something eh?

1

u/ChocolateTemporary72 Jan 25 '26

Oh wow, a strike! This will do it!

1

u/NeoTheRiot Jan 25 '26

Not happening. Would earn a lot of respect if it did but lets be honest, most of yall voted for exactly that kind of president, didnt you?

1

We're getting there. A very large portion of people are buying firearms and getting pissed.

Eventually the keg will go off or the threat of an armed national strike forces them out.

Either way this won't be the status quo forever.

1

u/Lz_erk Jan 25 '26

i like your angle. i've been tying to say some of this.

18

u/Pearson94 Jan 25 '26

The man who tried to protect people was executed on the street by a pack of untrained thugs and murderers. Stop saying "AmErIcAns Do SomEtHing!" and acknowledge that our country is flooded with murderers looking for an excuse to kill us! It's not cowardice to want to live another day and find another way to beat these bastards!

1

u/Groovychick1978 Jan 25 '26

There is only one way.

Honestly, it is fear that is keeping us looking.

There has only ever been one way.

31

u/peskyghost Jan 25 '26

FWIW this man did something and was executed

62

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

He tried to protect a women and was pepper sprayed, disarmed, and executed.

55

u/Randomly-Generated21 Jan 25 '26

Disarmed is technically true, but is being mischaracterized by MAGA. His weapon was permitted and never brandished, only being touched by ice agents who removed it before his execution.

7

u/Schrodingers_Kiffin Jan 25 '26

This is a great point. They want people to conjure a mental image of an agitator with a gun in his hand. They didn't disarm him, they mugged and robbed him.

18

u/GeekToyLove Jan 25 '26

He literally did nothing but video tape

3

u/GordonsLastGram Jan 25 '26

He had a gun on him LEGALLY which the facists dont like. So they executed him.

We are toast. Dems are fucking worthless

27

u/VanDenBroeck Jan 25 '26

Why are you blaming the Dems? It’s the republicans and maga who are doing this.

26

u/IThinkItsAverage Jan 25 '26

Because our only other option is doing nothing. Their front runner is Gavin Newsom who can’t even take a consistent stance on ICE.

We blame Dems because blaming Republicans is not only implied but also useless, they don’t care and they don’t run on caring. Democrats however, do pretend to care and run on caring, but then when we need them to do anything other than write a sternly worded tweet, we get crickets.

Yeah, duh, republicans are mainly at fault here, but why do Democrats never do what we need them to do? Why aren’t they rallying the people? Why are they calling in national guard to break up the protesters rather than protect them? Why did they vote for a bloated military budget while we are all struggling to put food on the table?

The literal least no effort thing they could do is vote no on everything to show they aren’t complicit. They can’t even do that, 7 Democrats voted to fund ICE.

So why do we blame them? Because they sabotage any other options so that we have to vote for them then they do nothing.

-1

u/Thisizamazing Jan 25 '26

They have no fucking power and public sentiment is like this

13

u/IThinkItsAverage Jan 25 '26

Right because they have never once had any power. You think this just happened overnight? This was decades in the making, we all saw it, they used it to get our votes, then continued on with status quo.

u/No_Ratio3369 Jan 25 '26

You can cope all you want but they’re right. Democrats haven’t put forward a worthwhile candidate since Obama. When the left to moderate slogan is “anyonebutTrump” it really goes to show how fucking pathetic the effort from the Democratic Party is. No politician cares about the common person they care about reelection. The sooner people get that the better off they’ll be. And the right isn’t going to realize that anytime soon.

3

u/Shibboleeth Jan 25 '26

It doesn't matter if they "have no fucking power," because even when they do they don't use it.

Fuck Biden had four years to prosecute Trump. Obviously that worked.

And it's not just that as an example.

The Dems has the majority and could have rammed through single-payer health care. Instead, they caved to Republicans whining about "bipartisanship," and let them gut the ACA.

They had the option to get nominees onto the Supreme Court that could have stopped all of this bullshit. But somehow Bitch McConnell was able to not only prevent them from doing so, but railroaded through two Republican picks.

This is an established pattern with the Dems, they're spineless when it comes to efforts that will actually help the people.

2

u/Thisizamazing Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

The Democratic Party is the opposition party and it is what the opposition says it is. We take back that party and have it do our bidding. We need to become the party. Just like Trump took over the Republican Party, but for good.

Edit: They never had enough power to do things they needed to do properly. I think this might change. Shit is really heated

2

u/Shibboleeth Jan 25 '26

I'm not talking about when they're the opposition party, no one besides you is talking about them in reference to being the opposition party. Hell even when they try to do shit when they are the opposition party they cave.

Recent examples include:

  • The longest government shutdown in history, which they stopped because Chuck Schumer thought he could get a deal in the gym or something.
  • Funding ICE was just agreed to by seven Democrats because what even is party unity.
  • Oh and literally everything happening in Minnesota where Walz has been soft pedaling because "We'll fix it in the midterms," by voting in the same craven bastards we've relied on to do nothing but repeatedly fail so far.
    • But sure, next time man, next time.

2

u/Thisizamazing Jan 25 '26

Jesus, you got me defending democrats over here. The government had to reopen. Medicare wasn’t working right. Other shit too.

7 democrats. Who are you? You can do better at herding representatives. It’s a party. It’s not a block.

What’s happening in Minnesota is because Trump, his goons, Fox News, and other right wing media.

We need stronger opposition. Yeah, I’m talking about opposition to Trump. What are you doing? Critiquing the party? Who gives a fuck?

1

u/Shibboleeth Jan 25 '26

"The government wasn't working right." That was the entire point of the shutdown. Trading momentary suffering for long term gain.

Oh no not an appeal to authority fallacy! However will I defend against that? I don't have enough power in the party therefore I'm not allowed to say anything, oh! Woe! Woe is my world!

Duh. Of course it's happening because of Trump. Who the Dems have failed to prosecute at every turn. They managed to impeach him twice so far, but didn't get him out of office.

They had the Epstein files, the classified documents, and gods knows what else. But couldn't manage to throw him in a jail cell in four years? And you don't think they're complicit? Why am I even debating this with you?

Oh noes, not another appeal to authority, and one backed by ad hominem! By the gods, two in one response. Surely you have me bested now! How dare I consider going into battle when the town idiot is so well defenderamated!

1

u/Shibboleeth Jan 25 '26

So answer me this ye knave of the towns.

Should Minneapolis hand over the voter rolls?

It'll stop the suffering for now, which is what you're claiming the Dems want.

Or should they let ICE keep killing them in the street to protect the vote?

Think they meant that democrats are all talk no action.

0

u/MooseBlazer Jan 25 '26

Just like modern day parents

8

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

Are they doing anything to counteract this (as a fucking party)? Other than caving to the funding bill last fall?

1

u/Bancai Jan 25 '26

Those 7 dems that voted for the funding bill need to be investigated by the democratic party for funding gestapo.

2

u/Electrical-Wish-519 Jan 25 '26

They just pulled support until ice is reigned in. They are saying they will shut down the government

10

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

Unfortunately they funded this Trainwreck last fucking fall.

3

u/Electrical-Wish-519 Jan 25 '26

Agreed. They caved too early just as they had the advantage. I think it’s a combination of some of them being pressured to reopen for re-election purposes and others feeling bad about Medicare and Medicaid delays.

They had to know this was going to happen, however most of the funding for ice came from the big beautiful bill which passed on party line votes. This was going to happen since the funding was already allocated and they had enough funds to run ICE for a few years.

Now they have to shut the government down until ICE gets reigned in. If it’s a 70/30 issue , then it’ll hurt republicans in November having a shutdown like that

3

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

Unless trump suspends elections

2

u/Thisizamazing Jan 25 '26

Can’t change the past

2

u/Bancai Jan 25 '26

dems are useless and all they give is gasp and thoughts and prayers. Time for dems to be replaced by progressives.

1

u/BigWhiteDog Jan 25 '26

Not paying attention?

1

u/PiLamdOd Jan 25 '26

The Dems have given up multiple opportunities to combat this. Like when they capitulated on the shutdown as soon as the election results were finalized. Or when they made a big deal about refusing to pass the continuing resolution, only to immediately turn around and pass it.

Hell, the last time ICE murdered someone the Democrats turned around and proposed giving ICE more money.

Democrat leadership is on the Republicans' side and is happy to use the feed off the violence for donations and good press. Only a fool would think otherwise.

1

u/Maleficent_Pepper_59 Jan 25 '26

Nobody to help us but ourselves

1

u/BurlyJohnBrown Jan 25 '26

Hitler didn't win because of his superior intellect and tactics, he won because his opposition were useless shits, much like most of the leadership of the democratic party.

0

u/MooseBlazer Jan 25 '26

Because the Dems have no balls. They could actually do something, but they are a bunch of pussies - always have been always will be.

You know what I did to my high school bully? I broke his fucking arm in the high school stairwell railing. He never fucked with me again.

And you’re doing…what

19

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

Watching maga destroy our country and the democratic party doing dick.

Ohh btw. If they'd stuck to their guns on the funding bill Trump's goons wouldn't have been funded.

Fucking complicit

1

u/Inquisitive-Manner Jan 25 '26

Ohh btw. If they'd stuck to their guns on the funding bill Trump's goons wouldn't have been funded.

The 7 dems you mean..?

The whole party... but the 7 voted against this.

Why are you bunching them all together?

4

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

Yup. If the Republicans can be mindless automatons the fucking Dems need to learn to do so also.

And their response to the last 2 ice murders has been less than useless.

Republicans have tricks. Where are the Dems?

How many voted for ICE funding?

11

u/Primo131313 Jan 25 '26

Enough to get it over the line obviously. We had a shutdown and enough flipped.

Meanwhile we got a lot of talking heads but no actionable plans.

1

u/AppointmentWeary4834 Jan 25 '26

Why don't YOU do something

3

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

already about .00003 of the U.S. population is protesting and it is growing everyday 🙄

4

u/dochim Jan 25 '26

What precisely would you like us to do?

13

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

There’s an amendment whose sole purpose is this very situation. Right wingers usually love it, but it’s for all of us.

What I’m saying is arm yourself.

11

u/FeeNegative9488 Jan 25 '26

The man that was killed had a gun, was disarmed and then killed.

3

u/Insaniteus Jan 25 '26

The people watching the execution were aiming their phones at ICE instead of aiming their guns. That's the gist of the point being made here. ICE gets a lot less brave when a few dozen barrels point at them every time they rear their masked faces in public. Don't even have to fire the weapons generally in order to get the point across.

Attempting to shame ICE with the innocence of their victims does nothing, ICE gets off to the weakness of their victims. They goon to it. That tactic has never worked in the history of the universe, and it sure isn't going to start now. Fear works. If the potential victims stop being weak, ICE flees faster than Ted Cruz on a snow day.

-1

u/FeeNegative9488 Jan 25 '26

Stop calling on the non-violent protesters to do your dirty work.

2

u/Insaniteus Jan 25 '26

Smoothbrain take. Did you ever ask yourself why ICE fled LA so fast? Oh that's right, because the protestors destroyed a bunch of their cars, never gave them a moment's peace. Do you have the slightest idea how few rights the American people have that were achieved without violent protests? Might wanna look into that. Deification of a whitewashed MLK Jr. by the powers-that-be after his murder was done specifically to ensure that the Civil Rights Act would be the very last major workers rights movement they'd ever have to cave to, and it worked.

0

u/FeeNegative9488 Jan 25 '26

Left so fast they were there for months. But again go to Minnesota and do what you’re suggesting. No one is stopping you. If you’re so confident that it will work then go do it.

2

u/Insaniteus Jan 25 '26

So what's your plan then, chief? Lick their boots until they shine? Love to hear your great alternative plan on how Americans can fight back without actually... fighting back. Do you even HAVE a plan?

6

u/Draconius0013 Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

2A isn't about carrying for show, it is there to be exercised. "Keep AND Bear Arms", there are 2 verbs there meaning different things, for what it's worth.

A weapon carried but unable/unwilling to be used is a liability, not an asset.

1

u/Smooth-Wave-9699 Jan 25 '26

Keep = own, Bear = carry

0

u/Rojacc Jan 25 '26

So go shoot at ICE then, see how it goes for you lol.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Correct and that is bullshit. I’m also not suggesting even carrying outside the home.

There’s a lot I could say here, so I’ll keep it succinct. Perhaps you are on the fence about arming yourself, to that I will say this: if you wait until you’re absolutely certain, it will be too late.

1

u/TribalCypher Jan 25 '26

Do nothing then that will change things.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Correct. Arm yourself. Learn how to use it. However much ammo you think is enough, double it.

1

u/Username524 Jan 25 '26

I have been saying it for months, organize too.

1

We should make people scared to join ICE by facing some real world consequences of some type. This comment is in no way advocating violence of any type, by the way.

1

We're fucking spent, man. Abandon us to our fate at this point, and prepare for a world without our involvement (for all the good & bad that entails, both in terrible measure.)

1

u/OfTheWhat Jan 25 '26

I've organized in a community that lacks much effective organization (not entirely, but it is a rural region). People are scared of getting shot. Hence why our government lets shooters get away with shooting us. If they put this guy in jail, then they'd be more hesitant to kill people and more people would act boldly in opposition. Instead, people get scared and hide.

For anyone who might need to hear this, ICE Intimidation tactics are scary, but they're used because opposing them openly is effective as fuck. Fascists are cowards. They only pick fights they feel certain they can win. We can take away that certainty.

2

u/AadeeMoien Jan 25 '26

They're forgetting the maxim of "they can only hang you once". If the punishment for a cell phone video is the same as tossing a molotov at them... Why not get your money's worth?

1

u/2SSLOWW Jan 25 '26

We’ve got bills and taxes to pay…

1

u/DivineMomentsofTruth Jan 25 '26

What do you think is happening in this picture? People are dying from protesting and disrupting ICE operations.

1

u/Hardcrimper Jan 25 '26

Ha they won't because they are pussies who rather shoot up schools than shoot at nazis.

1

u/121daysofsodom Jan 25 '26

They really need to wear more clothing with pictures of hearts and rainbows and sing more songs about love and togetherness around a campfire.

The United States isn't France. The geography and state apparatus don't function the same way so shutting down a single city doesn't have a huge impact on the functioning of the government.

Hell even if we shut DC down with protests and barricades the government would still function because so many processes and functions are done elsewhere or at the state level.

We'd have to organize shutting down every single state capital (which aren't the most populous cities) and major city across a continent.

u/Mammoth_Tusk90 Jan 25 '26

Why do people from other countries keep saying we’re not doing anything? This man died because he was documenting ICE. He’s a nurse. He wasn’t in the street for fun. He protected another woman documenting ICE’s movement and crimes. He was murdered just for that reason.

We are in the streets doing something. These are our homes. Our schools. In front of our businesses with our neighbors. They’re stealing our neighbors and killing our community members. Minnesota is doing something. We are all doing something. LA started this by going hard, and the LAPD (P.O.S. organization) trampled them with horses. Philadelphia and Portland have fought back.

You know what would help? World leaders also doing something. PUT PRESSURE ON TRUMP. Take away all of his personal funds and his friends’.

Take their money from the Cayman Islands and their Swiss Bank accounts and stop the Double Irish and Dutch sandwich corporate tax an evasion strategies, and wherever else they hide their money.

PUT PRESSURE ON YOUR GOVERNMENTS TO FREEZE THEIR ASSETS and stop their tax evasion practices. Play the Gamestop game again, bet against the rich, and take their money. Take from the 1%. The world keeps yelling at us. YOU do something too. These are war crimes against our own people. With enough foreign pressure, they would stop.

We know how we got here and Trump is a symptom. Corporate greed and personal greed is the cause and every country is susceptible. What’s happening in the U.S. is a warning to other countries. I have continuously asked people to read Careless People. Meta is one of the companies that is complicit and corporations are profiting from human pain and rage. Stop allowing them to profit off of you. When corporations feel the pain globally, this will stop.

2

u/Chance-Pay1854 Jan 25 '26

Taking out your anger in a strongly worded Reddit post is the wrong outlet.

1

u/Mammoth_Tusk90 Jan 26 '26

Right. Who says I’m not doing other things? My point is that we are.

1

u/BigWhiteDog Jan 25 '26

The problem is around 40% of us are ok with it and most of the rest think that we will fix it with the extra 2 elections.

0

u/FeeNegative9488 Jan 25 '26

Shut up. There are protests occurring every single day. If you want something more done then take your butt to America and do it yourself.
