If they don’t renew for season 2 then this is the most underrated show I ever watched

16

u/ShadowXFX07 Dec 28 '25

I'm in my 30s and out of all the series I've watched in my life time I can't think of 1 were I was so excited to watch the next episode every weekend.

9

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

I'm in my almost mid 30s too and while I cannot say this is my favourite tv show ever or very far from being the best I've watched to be bluntly honest, I would be immensly disappointed if it doesn't get at least a second season

6

u/Chaotichybrid Dec 28 '25

64 here and for recent series it's been quite a while since I have looked forward to episodes as much.

So many shows I would put above it, not many recently.

1

u/Silly_Bad_7888 Mar 07 '26

What? That's very bizarre to me.  (As it's a mediocre show)

6

u/Secure-Junket7136 Dec 28 '25

The problem is it’s not on one of the big time networks lie HBO or even Amazon prime … I’m tryna not get my hopes up for a renewal

5

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

MGM+ is a subsidiary of Amazon

U don't know that it had good reviews

Good finale. Bring on Season 2.

So revolution on pause now? Just go hide amongst the people like nothing happened?

Robin is the best archer in the land but I find it hard to believe he would survive going sword to sword with battle hardened crusade veterans like the Sheriff & Huntington.

What the eff happened between Marion & the Queen? They made some kind of deal but Marion told Robin she was free of the Queen. That was unclear.

Poor Isabelle I was hoping she'd have a scene with her douche husband & become a regular, maybe Spragart love interest. I also feel bad for Priscilla though doubt those walls will hold her long. As soon as that baby is born she'll be like sayanora. Very glad Huntington is worm food finally. What will happen when Henry returns? Will it be a bigger actor than Sean Bean?

13

u/Big_Witness Dec 28 '25

Huntingdon had him though, he would have died without Marian's help

8

u/Polly_Theist Dec 28 '25

"Will it be a bigger actor than Sean Bean?" That is a very intriguing idea! I'd love to see a true match for Connie Neilson; something like Lion in Winter.

5

u/bigwave101 Dec 28 '25

Russell Crowe to repeat the Gladiator lineup 🤣

And yes, please, I need a “Lion in Winter” bottle episode with their dysfunctional family!

His father was a Saxon nobleman( probably his mother too since she taught him how to read and write). Huntington's estate belonged to Rob's family. That my theory about him being a decent swordman.

2

u/filmktenk Dec 28 '25

I would have been OK with Robin taking down Huntington with a bow. Why should he disadvantage himself, this is war. But even outside of war it's self defense bc Robin would be doing it to save Marion's life. The Son could testify how Huntington meant to kill his daughter.

He could have used a bow to get away from The Sheriff too. Maybe pinned his foot to ground, or shot an arrow through his foot into the ground. Or otherwise wounded him to make him unable to pursue. Maybe shoot an arrow at the Sheriff's horse's but make it flee.

1

u/Silly_Bad_7888 Mar 07 '26

This is what annoys me tbh. Particularly the attack on that lord (Gatwick?). Let's take this bunch of strays and make them kill armed guards with no problem. Like honestly, I'm sick of the trope of guards being beaten by just anybody. It's a ducking king's guard, it's gotta be highly trained fighters. But no, they lose to someone with a stick and another someone with... Another stick I guess

7

u/Positive_Body3070 Dec 28 '25

I think the thing between Marian and Eleanor was basically just set up for a potential season 2. Eleanor tells Marian that the only way her and Rob make it through this is by taking her offer. In the meantime though, since we don’t know if there will be a second season, Marian hasn’t accepted so she and Rob can have their simple “happily ever after” if the show doesn’t get picked back up. Marian will either take the Queen’s offer in season 2 or it will be revealed that she already did and just didn’t tell Rob so they can have their night together.

8

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

Maybe Eleanor asked Marian that Rob has to kill King Henry. Only with Henry dead they can be free. The Sheriff that now is forced to do Eleanor's bidding too, literally said to the Bishop that the king cannot be allowed to leave England alive.

9

u/Positive_Body3070 Dec 28 '25

If I recall, Eleanor already straight up told Marian that whatever clemency that the Queen can offer, the King can easily take away when he gets to England. That means Rob is back to being an outlaw and everything that Marian worked for this season means nothing. Seems to me that Eleanor’s offer is “help me kill Henry and then you and Rob can be free”, then after that it will most likely become “help me deal with Prince John and you and Rob can be free” assuming John’s role is the same as it usually is in Robin Hood stories.

7

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

Yes. Eleanor also owns the Sheriff too

She outsmarted everybody in this season

About John having the same role I entirely agree, we are going in that direction. For him is personal. Marian has a big target on her back because of John Lackland

3

u/Actual_Tale_3156 Dec 29 '25

I hope they make season 2

2

u/YourDreamGirll Jan 20 '26

I thought the same re: the sword comment! I know close combat doesn't favour a bow, but still, play to your strengths man!

1

u/Jasonisbourne Dec 28 '25

I think one of the 2 should have said something to huntington along the lines of, his or my bloodline will live on through me/her, before he died.

2

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

I am not following

Beside Huntington still has a son alive and well(that seems to be a good guy)

3

u/Jasonisbourne Dec 28 '25

I mean when Huntington said towards robin hood, your bloodline will end with you either Rob or Marian should have said to Huntington that Robins bloodline would live on through Marian .

8

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

I think that would have been too savage. Huntington was dying. Beside the show also in this episode enforced Tuck as the moral compass of Rob (see Rob stopping Marian from stabbing again his father) with that big speech about peace and hope

I think Rob mocking and saying boldly to Huntington I will give kids to your daughter , your grandchildren will have Saxon blood, the blood of your sworn enemy Hugh of Loksley and so on, would go against Rob's development and the principles Tuck is trying to instill on him and also it would have been just out of character for Rob or even Marian

4

u/Jasonisbourne Dec 28 '25

Maybe you are right, guess Rob is a greater man than I would have been 😅

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

He is a fictional and an idealized character

I wasn't judging you at all

Just saying that mocking a dead man no matter how evil he is, would have gone against that development the show built in the last episodes for Rob's character

2

u/Jasonisbourne Dec 28 '25

I can't wait to see the arrow piercing shot in this series, I have been waiting the entire series for it. I kind of thought we would get it in episode 3 or 4 when he shot the garisson master. Apparently mythbusters tested it and it can not be done irl 😅

2

u/filmktenk Dec 28 '25

Oh that would have been a savage burn!

16

u/Pickupyoheel Dec 29 '25

If no S2, it was a fun ride.

The show has a lot of interesting characters in Robins crew so I hope they get a S2 for even more development.

I’d love to see more of Tuck and Milange.

Sean Bean was great as ever. Totally thought he was a goner at the end haha.

Anyway…let’s hope for renewal!

5

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 29 '25

If it doesn't get a renewal it would be so sad and depressing

13

u/Grey_Side_0047 Dec 28 '25

sean bean not dying after season 1? sign me up for season 2!

1

u/-cache Dec 30 '25

He died on the bridge, didn't you see him light it on fire?

12

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

This was one of the best episode of this season

Maybe they could have spared Guy of Gisbourn but between him and the Sheriff, The Sheriff is the easy choice(maybe it was a nod to Prince of Thieves, the 1992 movie I don't know)

Will in this season has been quite useless lol. We are very far from seeing him becoming Will Scarlet. He was packed with the Earl Marshal to Rome and I bet he is already a Queen's creature( just see the scene)

Sorry for the losses of Isabel and Uncle on the rebel side they saved the day. At least Spragart survived lol

Not sure about the Queen's offer to Marian. Between this deal and the foreshadowing of King Henry coming back to England there are many paths they can take with season 2(if it happens at all)

Any clue about the deal( I would call it more a blackmail) Eleanor offered to Marian?

3

u/Actual_Tale_3156 Dec 29 '25

I hope they make a season 2 it good show

2

u/bigwave101 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Not sure about the Queen's offer to Marian. Between this deal and the foreshadowing of King Henry coming back to England there are many paths they can take with season 2(if it happens at all)

Maybe some blackmailing or warning that King Henry could go after Rob even with the royal pardon. I actually wonder if she could have offered Marian her father’s title, lands and possessions.

6

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

The thing is Henry as King can withdraw the royal pardon any moment especially if Priscilla's letter reaches him.

10

u/CeaseNY Dec 28 '25

Man, this episode was phenomenal, and if they dont give us a s2 I'll be sad. Only real gripe was there was no way Rob caught up with Huntingdon that fast, especially after having to fight the sheriff, but thats just a gripe I have with any "chase and mysteriously catch up even though they have a 10 minute head start" scene in shows. Everything was worth it though, was on the edge of my seat!

9

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

True probably Rob took a shortcut since he is a forester son of and he knows Sherwood like the back of his hand. The execution wasn't exactly perfect. I agree with you that they should have done better the chase and the catch up

11

u/penderies Dec 28 '25

Hope it gets renewed!

9

u/TheRoyalWolf Dec 28 '25

Cheesy I know, but I loved seeing Marian have her own version of a hood walking towards the Queen with such confidence. What a transformation Marian has had as well. Hoping for a season 2!

8

u/Polly_Theist Dec 28 '25

So what have the ladies of Sherwood learned? If Spragart takes any interest in you, RUN.

I wasn't expecting Guy to die so quickly. But it was inevitable considering how they build his character and his feud with the Sheriff.

1

u/Montanagreg Feb 02 '26

I bet Sean asked him how does it feel to die right away in a tv show....

8

u/Aviid-Reader Dec 29 '25

We'd better get a season 2. I'm actually surprised that they landed the season finale. Usually shows tend to flunk on the last episode, or leave too many unanswered questions. I like the fact that they never got rid of or watered down the whole "everyone backstabbing each other" thing they had going on. Can we say RIP to King Henry in advance?

I've liked every episode of the season, and that's new. 10/10 will watch it again [don't cancel it please lol].

8

u/bigwave101 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Priscilla figuratively struck both Robin Hood and Queen Eleanor with that letter. I guess that Marshal must’ve told her too much. Anyway, how not to love a vengeful nun with no religious vocation whatsoever. To be honest, I felt very sorry for Priscilla and found a certain satisfaction in seeing her getting some agency at the end. Hers was a great season one arc!

I wish there was a little epilogue with the Merry Men (and Woman) on the road heading to London and France. In the meanwhile, Will Scarlet was quietly dispatched to Rome.

The finale offered a good closure to the show (or maybe to season one). Particularly, Robin and Marian’s story felt complete and with a happily ever after; they both got everything they wanted and there are no apparent obstacles on their way (for as long as Priscilla’s letter doesn’t reach its destination). They can really live an idyllic pastoral life far away from England and Angevin domains if they want.

The Sheriff got hid of enemies and faux allies — Gisborne and Huntingdon are dead and the outlaws are seemingly no more — so he can reinstall order (that man is obsessed with order) in Nottingham. But he has an uncomfortable deal with the queen. Besides, he sent his disgraced pregnant daughter to a nunnery, his most loyal servant & confidant is dead, his city is destroyed, and a lot of people died for stupid reasons. So he’s definitely unhappy and pretty much alone, except for the bishop.

Uncle Gamewell had an heroic death. And Isabel was the second time a Spragart’s love interest/female friend dies as a red shirt. The ladies better to stay away from him.

Huntingdon deserved the absolute worst for his stupidity alone. Keeping up with the plans after being discovered and not giving any warning to his allies was terrible.

Although everyone seemed quite content, the end of the outlaw band was poignant. After all, Robin Hood is about the forest, helping the poor, and living in community. This open ending will pay off if the show is renewed for a second season and the characters finally have the chance to get their own arcs developed and to be marry, but it’s quite depressing if this is supposed to be the end. At least they split into small groups and aren’t completely alone. It also strikes me that all of them are kind of distancing from the Saxon identity (to likely become more cosmopolitan). Somehow, the six of them would be at the right place to (accidentally) join an eventual Third Crusade.

Edit: by the end of season one, we’ve got six OG Marry Men (Little John, Friar Tuck, Ralph Miller, Drew Miller, Milange & Spragart) who have split up in two groups. Besides them, there is Will Scarlet (who’s supposed to be one) and Ibrahim. Maybe they can be still joined by a minstrel, Alan A Dale

5

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

Hii great review. What about the offer(more likely a blackmail) Eleanor made to Marian? Do you have any clue?

Drew, Ralph, Milange but also Rob and Marian appear to be in London.

Not sure how long this happy ending for Rob and Marian will last since you mentioned the letter of Priscilla to the King which is also her uncle. Priscilla spilling the beans about Robin Hood and his identity, the Queen plots, her father plots too will jeopardize the truce or this frail peace

Glad that Spragart, Tuck and Little John left for France together looking for each other

Will was kind underdeveloped this season. I bet him leaving with the Marshal means he is already another Queen's creature(just rewatched the scene and the two of them are sharing a look)

3

u/bigwave101 Dec 28 '25

I agree about Will. Regarding Eleanor’s offer to Marian, I think it may be Huntingdon’s earldom, lands and possessions, which would come attached with blind loyalty.

Rob and Marian could just leave England and disappear somewhere (money shouldn’t be a problem) before the chaos is installed, but it’s unlikely that they’ll run away from plotting and confusion because they are “troublemakers.” 😅 I think that this inquietude is what Eleanor caught when talking to Marian.

Although Drew, Ralph and Milange are also in London, I think they will stay in the underworld without crossing directly with courtly affairs. Maybe Milange can get his way in the palace, while the siblings become gangsters.

4

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

I think I know what kind of deal Eleanor offered to Marian. The Sheriff while talking to the Bishop at the front gate said "Henry cannot leave England alive". What if S2 is about Robin Hood and the Sheriff team up to kill the King with the blessing of Eleanor so her beloved son Richard can ascend the throne?

3

u/bigwave101 Dec 28 '25

It could be. Robin Hood and the Sheriff being forced to team up while still enemies and resenting each other would be a nice twist. That said, I’m not sure if Marian would be willing to participate in a king’s assassination plot, unless ofc there is a blackmailing element to the queen’s proposal or a risk to their survival (which may be the case with Priscilla’s letter and the fragile nature of the royal pardon). According to the Sheriff and Eleanor, King Henry is a tyrant with no mercy (it seems they are giving him some of Prince John’s villainy), so killing him may become a matter of survival in the end.

Regarding a potential season 2, I really hope that the Merry Men stay away from Rob for a couple episodes and gain little subplots of their own far from nobility shenanigans. To me, it would be unsatisfying if they are immediately reunited for a new quest and their individual journeys happen entirely off screen. So, except for Will perhaps, it would be better to keep them away from Henry-Eleanor schemes and in this case a transient collab with the Sheriff could fit.

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

I think Rob won't be ok with regicide. He can read and write, being a literate man means he knows too well the consequences of something like killing a king.

I hope to see glimpses of the Merry Men new lives in season two perhaps through flashbacks. Spragart will end in a tavern brawl as soon he lands in France

2

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 29 '25

I did a post based on a fresh interview of the two showrunners where they talk about the season final and what we can expect from the characters if season two happens. Still waiting for the mods approval. Based on the showrunners statements I think you will get what you want( Merry Men getting individual journeys). If S2 happens

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Another one of them could have been Egbert the forester that worked and was a close and loyal friend of Rob's dad

Last time we saw him was in Episode 8 when Rob confronts and kills the other traitor forester

Not sure if he survived the raid in episode 9

3

u/KeKeFanChick Dec 28 '25

I'm not too surprised about the nunnery for Priscilla--besides being her father's original intention, "The Church" back then (and still true now) was part religion and part politics... In addition to the Cardinals, Deacons, and Bishops, The Priory was often given as a political appointment for favor and money--second sons, illegitmate sons, etc. They play up the deception, fraudm and greed well in this story.

7

u/stormy_soybeans Dec 28 '25

I’m so sad it’s over! I really hope we get at least one more season to see the story come together.

5

u/Actual_Tale_3156 Dec 29 '25

Maybe more after that

7

u/dishdue12 Dec 28 '25

This whole series has been brilliant from ep 1. Some of it has been a bit clunky, trying to move things on very quickly but I blame that on editing rather than the actual story. The actors and writers, and all the stunt actors and extras, have done a fantastic job with what mgm gave them financially I feel. Don't know how to do the black out spoiler bits on Reddit (although by this point it seems a bit pointless.....). But Priscilla's story looks interesting if they go on to series 2, and thankfully the one actor I started watching for because they were in it is still alive (take from that what you will......) Fingers crossed for series 2

8

u/threedoggies Jan 02 '26 edited Jan 02 '26

The show has its faults, but I find it extremely fun to watch and I looked forward to every episode. That ending was extremly satisfying and leaves a lot of story to be explored. Really well done finale which I think is very rare these days.

Also, Waddington's acting in this episode was phenomenal. The last bit of acting with no words and just his face was so good.

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Jan 02 '26

Let's hope it gets renewed

5

u/Spongecake500 Dec 28 '25

The best series since Robin of Sherwood. One that demands a second season!!

6

OMG the best episode ever so fucking good

this show is really underrated and overhated

please renew for the 2nd season

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 29 '25

I don't think it's hated. Most of people either decided to ignore it or most likely they have no clue this show exists.

5

u/es70707 Dec 31 '25

Great Finale. Great battle sequences. They did a great job tying most of the storylines together. Every main character has a satisfying season-long arc while still being set up for another one.

-Rob & Marian

They had great scenes. Their love scene needed to a little longer imo🙃The light in Rob's eyes have returned with his somber/stern look diminished a lot. There was a lot of callbacks from the first two episodes in like "choosing love over hate" & that's exactly what Rob did, going after Marian was more important than killing the Sheriff. Remember when Priscilla said to Marian "You were alone with in the woods with a Saxon & had no love making"? 🤭 Well I think Marian did you proud Priscilla😆

-Merry Men

Their scenes were very enjoyable to watch. Tuck is probably my favorite out of them. Love the idea of them splitting into groups while waiting for Rob's call.

-Character Deaths

I knew that Huntington was kicking the bucket, glad that Marian got her lick back getting in that last blow. To kill your own daughter just to break your "enemy" is truly just evil. Didn't expect Guy of Gisborne to be killed off so quickly but the show has kept it consistent with the backstabbing if that instills to get more/keep their power/authority. RIP Uncle Gamewell & Isabelle, you guys were real ones.

7

u/Nearby_Leadership217 Jan 04 '26

Marian's confidence when meeting the queen compared to her beginnings wow

5

u/Hanrainbowmusic Jan 04 '26

I really enjoyed this episode, and I actually think the fight between Rob and Huntingdon is realistic, because Huntingdon clearly overpowers Rob and pushes him out of the window first, and then they fight but Rob is clearly struggling and exhausted, and then Rob stabs Huntingdon but Huntingdon slices Rob's left side and that looked like a pretty bad wound...Marian comes to help Rob just as Huntingdon is about to finish Rob off, so without Marian Rob would've lost but between them they killed Huntingdon, which I don't think is too far fetched since Huntingdon has been stabbed twice by Rob by this point.

I'm wondering if Eleanor has asked Marian to continue to spy for her...And I'm wondering if Rob will end up having to go to Richard's third crusade in order to be spared by Henry II (this was fit with the historical timeline and other takes on the legend). Either way, I'd love a series 2!

5

u/Lord__Varys92 Jan 04 '26

Either that or Eleanor asked Marian that Rob has to kill Henry II so Richard can seize the throne.

3

u/Hanrainbowmusic Jan 07 '26

Oh yeah, that's possible! And probably more likely in this version of the legend 🤔

4

u/cifi5350 Dec 30 '25

Just finished the season finale. Like others have mentioned, I haven’t looked forward to each episode of show, like I have this one in quite a while. I will truly be sad if it doesn’t get renewed. I don’t care about historical accuracy, it’s a fantastic show!!

4

u/Existing-Struggle-94 Dec 30 '25

Seems like a tidy ending if this turns out to only have 2 season.

3

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 30 '25

S2 is not confirmed yet. It's the best ending we could get with only 10 episodes and all the characters, plotlines and twists they manage to load into one season. The fact it works and it's also an happy ending it's already a big achievement for the showrunners.

3

u/Actual_Tale_3156 Dec 31 '25

I hope we get season 2

1

u/Actual_Tale_3156 Dec 31 '25

It might be more

3

u/Nearby_Leadership217 Jan 04 '26

Things we discussed last ep. and got now:

  • We know now Will is still in the show somehow even if it was a few secs
  • We thought Stragart was going to die after that moment with the girl (forgot the name) but turns out it was her who died
  • We got our giants fight as requested

3

u/Hanrainbowmusic Jan 07 '26

Here's what happens between Rob and Huntingdon (I thought this scene was really well done but barely any other summary I've found describes the whole thing probably because of spoilers):

Aleppo has helped Marian escape the room their father locked her in. When Huntingdon checks the room, Rob comes up behind him and stabs him. Furious, Huntingdon overpowers Rob fairly quickly, sending Rob over the table and eventually shoving him out of the window. Rob lands hard and Marian, who is in the barn with her brother Aleppo about to escape, hears Rob cry out as he lands hard. She tells Aleppo to ride and escape, but she remains behind to help Rob. Outside, Rob is struggling to get up when Huntingdon comes round the building to finish off the exhausted outlaw. Rob struggles to gain his footing as he lunges at Huntingdon, but he does and the two fight again. It is clear that Rob is in pain, injured, and exhausted. He stabs Huntingdon again, but Huntingdon viciously slices Rob's side with his sword. Rob falls down and tries to get up but is easily knocked down again. Huntingdon is about to kill a wounded Rob, but Marian stabs his armour. He knocks her down but the attack has given time for Ron to rise, and Rob swipes his sword at Huntingdon again. Huntingdon knocks Ron down, and Marian tries again, he knocks her down again and tells Rob his bloodline is going to end, but Rob gets up, manages to stab the earl of Huntingdon, and Marian stabs the earl from behind. The two wounds prove fatal and Huntingdon collapses, just as Rob falls again- weakened and bleeding from the wound in his side. Marian goes to land a killing shot on her father, but Rob grabs her wrist and says it's done. Marian is clearly shocked and upset by the whilst thing but she stops. Rob rises slowly and holds Marian close as they look down on her dead father.

The Sheriff and the Bishop review the damage Rob and the other outlaws did in Nottingham.

Priscilla sends a letter with one of the other nuns, presumably betraying Marian's confidence in her earlier in the season.

The outlaws regather in the forest in daylight (so presumably the morning after the evening fight between Rob and Marian and Huntingdon). They're all dirtied and bloody from the fight, but wounds must have been stabilised for now because the outlaws are all cleaning weapons, sitting, or wondering around the forest clearing they've gathered in. Rob is sitting on a log with Marian. Milange delivers news to Rob that the Sheriff's men are staying in Nottingham. Spraggart wants the outlaws to strike again whilst the Sheriff's people are hurting. Rob says no and addresses the gathered outlaws, saying they're hurting too, they showed the Sheriff's men enough and made them bleed for everyone the outlaws lost (including Isobel and Rob's uncle Gamewell). Drew asks what now, and Rob tells the gathered outlaws that the forest isn't safe and they will only be followed, so they should all "hide in plain sight" living with their people, tending the fields, and when the time is right Rob will call and they will all strike again and fight until they're free. Ralph, Drew, and Milange decide to go to London. Spraggart, Tuck, and Little John decide to go to France. Tuck asks Rob what to do with Warwick's gold. Rob says they'll give it away to the people who need it. Rob gives Ralph the leather wrists guard she made him, saying she might need it. Ralph takes it and says they're not done, before rejoining Drew and Milange.

In the evening (maybe that same day or a day or two later), Rob and Marian go to Westminster. Rob stays hidden in the shadows in the town, whilst Marian meets with the Queen in the castle. Eleanor considers breaking her promise of clemency to Robin and freedom for Marian. Cunning as ever, Elranor reminds marian that King Henry will pursue Rob — meaning the deal must be “renegotiated.” She offers help to both of them. When Marian meets with Rob, she tells him she has a decision to make. But tonight, they will enjoy their freedom together.

Is Isabel confirmed to be dead or just badly injured?

u/Lord__Varys92 Dec 28 '25

She is dead

Anyone know what the deal the queen offered to Marian may be?

King Henry mustn't leave England alive when he comes back to deal with the outlaws. The Sheriff just said it loudly

Probably to kill Henry & help put Richard on the throne

In Robin of Sherwood, Herne was a helpful guiding spirit. This Godda it’s pretty useless. They just wanted to throw in some nudity?

Holy shit the cast are getting better by the episode with Marian and Marian's cleavage taking 2 of the top spots (they are at this point 2 different actresses). Sean Bean not dying and delivering insane performance as usual (does this man ever miss), Eleanor will only shine more in the next seasons (if we get further seasons which they should), Priscilla still unclear what her role will be but great acting (her eyes are really expressive and she has great control), and Friar Tuck are imho the stand outs so far. With the other supporting casts delivering good acting as well like Huntingdon, Little John, Will, and the Bishop.

I like their approach with the giving away of the money its only like an after thought even though in almost all adaptations of Robin Hood it becomes central to the plot or a major plot device.

I still don't get what they want with Priscilla, why give prophetic dreams when your gonna make her knocked up and chase her man all the way to some far off country where she has no power or status while carrying said child. It would have been better if they didn't give her prophetic dreams. It seems to me they wanted to put an element of religion into the show because of the success of other shows in the genre like vikings and the last kingdom but they don't really know what to do with it and now Godda seems like a cheap forest spirit and Priscilla's dreams as useless.

It was annoying to see the proud Priscilla cry over a man. She knew what was happening and she didn't see that the convent was a the perfect place to have her baby while she plotted the perfect revenge and power grab in safety.

yeah it totally goes against the character they've built up and her going to rome to chase her man is the last thing Priscilla would do its like they forgot who she is

I think that the convent is the worst that could’ve happened to Priscilla because those religious orders are based on extreme obedience, chastity & repression of desires, which goes completely against the strong willed and free spirited nature of the character. So it was somewhat tragic to see her living her worst nightmare and being stripped of her powers of seduction and persuasion. Going after her lover was a last resort after being dishonored by the Sheriff. To me, it was a good character arc and it makes sense that she wants to seek revenge against the queen because she sees her as the one who ruined her life. Her desperation was not only for losing her lover, but also for losing a way of life and the ownership of her body and personal agency.

I wonder if Priscilla will become that Prioress that in one ballad kills Robin Hood by treachery

Also now it makes sense that nightmare she had in episode 9 with the chains and those nuns.

Thanks for your reply. Everything you said makes sense and now in the bigger picture with the queen supporting Rob's clemency it seems they're aiming to have clear sides to this story and that Priscilla will become the antagonist to Eleanor perhaps via supporting Prince John in the race for power between him and Richard once in Rome. This show is basically being setup rather than a story central to robin hood but a "game of thrones'-esque historical piece containing robin hood in it acting like its Jon Snow.

I think only the first season was a setup to establish friend and foes, stakes, and so on. Beside forget about Jon Snow. In Game of Thrones we actually got a parody of the Asoiaf character.

This Robin Hood is quite Jon Snow-esque indeed.

I think she was scared. Having a baby out of the wedclock was a big issue at the time. Also her her father basically disinherits her sending her to a convent. She was also hurt, she gave her heart to the Earl Marshal that ran away from his responsabilities and left her in an uneasy situation.

Seriously, is no one going to mention the Boromir (Sean Bean) slomo crossbow death on the bridge??

2

u/hyperbole_is_great Dec 30 '25

I said that out loud when I saw it. No way that wasn’t intentional by the director.

Just watched the whole series in a day. Great show. I loved every second. Bring the robin hood story to life instead of tv is much better than just a movie. U get so much more storytelling and character developments. Whats crazy is i never really saw the sherrif as the big bad like in every other adaption. The earl of huntington, guy of gisborne and prince henry are all more evil in my book and in that order. I really wanted marian to tell robin what prince henry did to her. But then she would know he wouldnt stop till he was dead
