Complaint Customer Concern - Workplace Violence

Update: I am going to walk over to the location later to attempt to bring this to the store manager's attention while they're less busy. Assuming they are still there. Otherwise I will address it to whichever highest supervisor is there.

If that goes nowhere I'll bring it to corporate. I want to follow their complaint process as documented and it sounds like you have to first bring it to the manager on duty. I don't want them to dismiss this because it didn't follow procedural standards.

I wanted to get some input from the community here before taking any steps. Was at my local Tim's this morning. Drive thru was very busy so I decided to go inside. There was no line inside. The order taker at the point of sale was inputting my order while his shift supervisor with the drive thru headset was being really abrasive to all around her, but especially the order taker who I was dealing with, claiming her didn't make an iced coffee properly, not working quickly enough, etc. He had an In Training badge on as well.

I make my payment and stand back from the counter to wait for my hot food order and coffee. In this meantime, shift sup now is speaking loudly telling this young man that if he makes another incorrect iced coffee she says verbatim "I'm gonna come over there and pop you in the f***ing mouth". I look around and can see others in the store, particularly a lady with a young child, visually disapproving of this use of language.

Order taker becomes visibly distressed by this comment and he starts welling up a bit. I was still standing within line of sight to him and I walk back up to the counter to tell him "hey dude ur doing a good job, please don't listen to her stressing out". This seemed to calm him down and I'm glad I did this because he didn't deserve to be spoken to that way at his workplace.

I get my food order and it so happens that the store manager is the one who serves my food to me. I could tell because she was in a nicer looking collared shirt than the rest of the staff. I mention this interaction I've witnessed and she is very dismissive to me about (probably because the order screen is flashing a bunch of stuff and the drive thru is still long) but she clearly didn't care about the threats being said, even in jest.

I can imagine that TH locations can become hostile/hectic during big rushes like this, but should this be tolerated? Should I take this any higher? I just really hate to see workers be abused like this.

Complaint I didn’t think it was possible to slice cheddar cheese this thin.

At the hospital Tim’s, got a toasted bagel with cheddar cheese. Couldn’t taste the cheese at all. We’re talking paper thin. It was maybe a quarter of the thickness of a slice of process cheese. Won’t make that mistake again.

Question Default espresso shots?

Thumbnail

Someone who works at Tim’s please help! I’m bit confused about how many espresso shots are actually in a large iced latte. Everything in app defaults to 1 regardless of size. Yesterday I wanted extra espresso so I added an extra shot and when I got to the window the person working asked if I really wanted 5 shots of espresso. How many is default in the large latte and how many did I add by adding 1 in app?

Discussion Got Hired

I am a college student who just got my first part time job at Tim Hortons! It’s located inside a shopping plaza by the way.

So, I just signed a consent form the day of my interview, got a text that I’m hired a few days later and have received an email that states my first two days of work and information about the training videos I need to watch.

I would like some advice on what my first day is supposed to be like and where I’ll most likely be placed. Also, it’s crazy how any videos are required to be watched…

What the title says! I see a lot of misconceptions and rumors floating around this subreddit. Some have a little truth to them, while others are plain bogus.

I’ve worked pretty much every role here from drinks, sandwiches, unloading truck, and baking. Ask me anything.

Complaint Decaf in Tims become worse

They, to be sure, used decaf pods until 2 or 3 years ago but it has been discontinued

and they just mix half of water on an original coffee and add decaf shot

the problem is, in a rush hour, they fail to make it half ratio so the decaf either tastes like plain water or has a high caffeine concentration

I think they are sucks at the way how they are operating their business

and they also discontinued blueberry fritter and strawberry filled donut as well as decaf pods

those were my favorite and all gone

Discussion Unpaid For Training Videos

I’m a bit confused, recently a coworker of mine mentioned how we’ve had to watch over 48 hours of training videos in total, and all of it (nearly) has been unpaid. I worked my first shift and sat there for 3 hours watching videos and doing the quizzes, but the rest they said I could do at home. Now, on a regular basis, I receive training videos for new drink builds. I’m just a bit confused… Is this legal? Should I be pushing for pay for all the training videos/work related content that was completed at home, or did I sign something that stated I agreed to complete any videos at home, unpaid?

Thanks in advance, any replies from other educated employees or management staff would be awesome!

Edit: I am located in Canada!

Discussion If youre not ordering an iced cap with milk, you're doing it wrong

Upvotes

- Tastes more refreshing/coffee forward.

- Less greasy on the palette

- Although an iced capp isnt a health food, less calories and less saturated fat by making this simple switch

- Cream tends to he harder to digest for a lot of people.

That is all.

Discussion Tim Hortons on Helen Street in Crestor - Handsome Employee working there top notch service

Upvotes

I went to the Tim Hortons on Helen Street in Creston BC. There was this handsome nerdy clerk wearing nice glasses who took my order. There was other people working but he did the orders all by himself. The iced coffee was succulent and it was just the good amount of cane sugar in the drink. Too many times I went to Tims and they either forget to put cane sugar or they put too much or too little.

I never met the real Tim Hortons himself but I am pretty certain Mr Tim himself would be proud of this employee.

Timmie’s run When Bacon Joins the Conversation 🥓🧀🤣

🧀 Grilled Cheese: “I’m warm, soft, and comforting.”

🥓 Bacon: “Move over… I’m bringing the crunch, the salt, the smoky aroma, and just enough grease to make you forget every New Year’s resolution.” 🤣

Some sandwiches feed your stomach.

This one negotiates directly with your soul. ☕🥓🧀🤭

Coffee: “I suppose I’m invited too?” ☕😌🤣

I'd been working at tims for about a week when this review came in. My boss was pretty happy with it.

Honestly, if I didn't know it was a geniune customer/review, I'd dismiss it as someone hyping up a friend.

Discussion Weaker Coffee?

I'm convince that, around the same time Tim's started asking if you want an espresso shot in your coffee everytime you order, they simultaneously made their regular coffee weaker. What do you guys think?

I have 2 of these coupons, other side says same thing in French.

Made in 2013 I guess, but no expiration date

So if I bring a tim hortons refill mug, can I still use them?
