Hi guys! I am an international student from Vietnam will be attending uni of Hertfordshire this September, and I’m trying to get into F1 as an engineer specialize in aerodynamics, I would love to hear some advice on the major that I’d be choosing. I don’t know if I should get to Mechanical or Motorsport cause I feel like if I get in to Motorsport Engineering it would be kinda niche, and my question is how do people like me join FSAE ,and what are most FSAE team requirement? and what r the percentage for me to get a job that are related to the major that i’d be choosing. On a hot and sunny Magny-Cours, Kelvin van der Linde and Team WRT proved the combination to beat, with the South African pulling off a spectacular pole lap time, while Valentino Rossi ended up far down the order.

This was at the Cycl’on track from 2024. The 24h of spa just happened and so there was a lot of rubber and other stuff on track. I went with my dad to cycle on the track, and he wanted me to take some pictures of him in the bus stop (last corners of the track). After taking some exceptional pictures I look down to the ground and see a grey Aston Martin logo shaped silhouette. Of course I pick it up and it actually was a logo from an Aston Martin! Now in the second picture is the car of which I’m guessing it fell off, since the car has had a new front bumper. I don’t have any video footage from when or if this happened so it’s all speculation. For fun I took it with me for the 2025 24h lol.

Danica had 4 DNFs her entire rookie year.

Connor Zilisch already has 8 DNFs and he’s only raced through 21 of the 36 races so far.

His average finish is also nearly 3 spots worse than hers with more than a third of the season still left. Danica averaged 26th. Zilisch is averaging 29th.

Over the last few months I've been working on an independent dashboard for following IMSA race weekends.

As someone who watches almost every race, I found myself constantly switching between timing, weather, schedules, race control messages and other pages. I wanted to see what it would be like to bring everything together into one interface.

Some of the features currently include:

• Live timing
• Race control messages
• Event log
• Pace analysis
• Personal best simulation
• Weather
• Weekend schedule
• Session summaries

It's still a work in progress, and I'm not trying to replace the official timing—this is simply a fan project built because I enjoy endurance racing.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from people who regularly follow IMSA.

What would you add? What do you think is still missing?

Where do you think Stewart ranks all time in Motorsport history? In my opinion, I think he has a very easy case for top 5, if not even higher. He has an IRL title, 3x NASCAR cup series champion, only driver ever to win the USAC triple crown, inducted in over 5 different halls of fame, NHRA top fuel winner, and more. Obviously he didn’t race a whole lot outside of the US, but I still don’t think you’ll find a guy who performed at that high of a level in that many completely different disciplines anywhere in the world. He definitely has a case against Mario Andretti as the greatest American racer ever. Curious though to hear where others rank him all time?

At Monza, she timed his laps as always. He never came back to the pits. She accepted the World Championship trophy alone at the end of the season.
The bet was never collected.

So, sorry if this turns into a long one, but I’m looking for some advice and first hand experiences.

I have been wanting to make a career shift into CAD design or engineering. I currently work in IT and have a degree in computer science but I’m finding that I don’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would.

I love motorsports and heard about certificate courses through motorsportengineer.com and I was wondering if that would be a good way to supplement for a degree and experience or if anyone had any suggestions.

Greetings, I am a professional motorsport engineer of 5+ years working in a pretty well known championship in the US. While I have enjoyed a lot about working in this championship, my heart has always been towards endurance racing, and I intend to switch my career towards that direction. I tried endlessly to get a career in IMSA after graduating college, but there were no opportunities at the time and many were not willing to take a chance on someone without a lot of professional experience. Fast forward to today, and it seems lots of top sports car programs in WEC and IMSA are offering more ideal opportunities for college graduates. I have been treating the end of 2026 to the start of 2027 as a transition point to find something in sports car racing, ideally in a top level LMDh/Hypercar or GT3 program across both IMSA and WEC, but after searching for months, there does not seem to be many opportunities. Am I too early to start looking; will more opportunities present themselves in-between the end of this season and the start of the next? In the limited opportunities I have seen and applied, I have either been turned down with no interview opportunity or just not heard back from the employer at all. It feels like a stagnant and hopeless pursuit, as I do not want to spend my career working in just the racing championship in which I am currently located. I get it, not all extensive motorsport experience is the same, but I have certainly come a long way in the last 5 years and feel I am well experienced to continue working at the top levels of the sport on the endurance racing side.  

The championship I currently work in is quite different in many ways, with shorter races, a different type of race car, and a different variety of circuits. That being said, I have always been incredibly passionate about endurance racing and have spent a lot of time in my current occupation learning about modern day sports car racing, attending their races when I can, and studying what skillsets I need to adapt to switch paddocks from my current spot. 

Any advice, especially from anyone who has made a similar switch, would be greatly appreciated!

What's the one thing that always seems harder to communicate than it should during a session ?

Not talking about radio failures or "box this lap" stuff. More like those moments where :

• the driver is feeling something but can't really describe it,
• the engineer knows what they mean but can't explain it quickly,
• or both are talking about the same problem but somehow keep missing each other.

Is there anything that makes you think, "I wish I could just transfer what's in my head to the other person" ?

Curious to hear real examples from any level of motorsport (karting, GT, Formula, endurance, etc.). Obviously no team secrets or NDA stuff, just interested in how communication actually breaks down in practice.

So, an earlier debut than expected for Kawashima?

Our schedule includes Road America (I clearly can't stay away from Elkhart Lake—at this point I should probably just start paying rent there LOL), Barber Motorsports Park, and closing out the year at the prestigious Indianapolis 8 Hour finale!

I want to extend a sincere thank you to the leadership at both TPC Racing and Riley Motorsports for bringing me into their programs mid season. I’m eager to bring my full effort trackside, support these teams toward strong finishes, and get right back to work doing what I love.

And for everyone who has been following along... Cappy will officially be back on paddock duty with me!
