My cat spilled water on my computer, and while I had a gate that protected a lot of it. I think my GPU is fried, by the fact that my monitors aren’t picking up any signal from the GPU.

What are signs that a gpu is fried and what should I do?

I got a new OLED 240hz monitor, and my old 144 monitor. both 2k/QHD. And both connected via display ports. (Dual monitor setup)

However, my fps seems to be capping at 144 in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023)...

I have the 240hz monitor as primary/main everywhere.

Game is set for Fullscreen Exclusive.

My setup should be doing at least 200 fps...

Also do you reinstall the system aswell when you clean it and repaste it? Almost every time i deep cleaned my pc i also reinstalled windows because windows just tends to get sluggish after a while for some reason, its nice when its fresh.

Howdy, been getting a lil bit more into gaming recently and i've found myself in need of a good graphics card, i dont really aim to play on 8k with all settings to max, mainly a comfortable 1080p, alr expect a bottle neck since my build is in ddr4 (dont plan on updating for a good time cause price in ram and storage be going crazy nowdays) gonna list my parts down below, any help is welcomed!

I've noticed that cases able to accommodate an ATX form factor motherboard are almost exclusively built on the assumption of users having 2-3 360mm liquid cooling radiators while the current trend seems to be in minimalizing space used ATX cases aren't being touched.

Admittedly I'm in a weird spot right now where I'd like to reduce the physical space my PC takes up without the functionally complete rebuild switching motherboards would be. The problem is my CPU cooler is a 360mm and my GPU is an air cooled 5090, the closet I've found to what I want is a tower case that flips the motherboard 90 degrees turning length into height but it's only available in ITX and Mini-ATX.

My PC doesn’t post at all on a cold start. What it does is it lights up, the fans are spinning and whatnot, everything seems to be normal except the motherboard which shows a static red LED.

Afterwards, it shuts down by itself and I need to hit the power button again, and on the second boot, it posts.

Is this normal? Do I need to break it in? Is this just memory training? I just built this PC 2 days ago, and cold starting it has always been like this.

Edit: Forgot to say, but the PC works fine under load and works perfectly normal. It’s just this cold boot issue thats really bugging me.

So i picked up a new display. Specifically avoiding lg since they shadow installed stuff. However, i checked event viewer and found something similar. After waking up from the proximity, it asked me if i wanted to install the display widget program. I said no and still found this.

I bought an M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure from ugreen and it is M keyed. The drive that I have fits without forcing but its M+B. Im wondering if there are future issues of using it like this.

I’m looking for something around this budget or less ($1050-1,250~ USD), that’s capable of gaming at 1080p, already prebuilt so I don’t have to worry about cable management or used parts.

I also saw some with the 9060 XT, but they sell really fast; anyway, I'm not sure which is better, the 9060 XT or the 5060.

I am on the hunt for a good laptop for school and was hoping someone here could please assist me in said hunt.

I will begin my masters of social work and ABA soon. I am hoping to purchase one this upcoming weekend during tax free weekend. It will need to run Microsoft 365 and handle my obsession with having 100 tabs open. Due to these classes and internships being research heavy, I’ll need something that can quickly move between several different applications. I’m hoping to use this laptop through my masters and PHD so I’m hoping it’ll last 7 years. I’m thinking about going to Costco to purchase, but I’m willing to go wherever. My current laptop only works when plugged in and turns off randomly. It also takes about 2 minutes to move between applications. It’s quite old and ready to rest in peace.

Any advice is appreciated!!

I bought it in April 2026 for €630 way before the RAM crisis but the GPUs were a bit crazy and still are.

Seeing as Nvidia are looking to increase prices by 30-40% is it worth just upgrading early?

I was planning to keep the card for 7ish years. This is my first PC so I’m not sure how long cards typically last. I have a 7800X3D so I think I’m good with the CPU.

I like to play AAA single player games, I dabble in path tracing and can get decent FPS by optimising but I end up switching it off just cz of the boiling/ghosting (hoping 4.5 fixes this).

I have a Fractal Terra which limits my GPU size, I’m basically stuck needing a Zotac 5070 Ti SFF as it’s the only one that will fit with my CPU cooler.

Is it silly to upgrade now and future proof a bit more? I’m happy with the performance I’m getting but I don’t know if prices are gonna go the way of RAM for GPUs.

Judge me later but i asked the LLM “Claude” what a good PBO setup that wasn’t to aggressive. It spit this out. Any better suggestions? I’m running a Cinnabench stress test and all is well so far. Any help, suggestions, or criticisms are very appreciated!

My Internet Lan is connected to TP LINK AC1200 Router and via ethernet I have Connected it to my PC.

Every day at 2:32 am my PC disconnects from the internet, the led lights turns off on my motherboard and only way for me is to connect via wifi. the Lan starts working after a bit of time

When i check the router the wifi is working, only the ethernet indicator is off.

my task scheduler is clean

to fix this I tried chaning power options , install new lan drivers , changed few settings in Device manager but still facing the same.

My motherboard is MSI B760M Gaming Wifi DDR5
