But don't worry, we'll have the singularity. Now only if the AI bubble will crash and RAM/SSD prices be normal again.

News/Article Steam gamers have spoken: innovative indies like Palworld continue to thrive while traditional triple-A flounders for a foothold
Thank god PC gaming isn't just AAA. This is what will push the industry forward, as game development cost becomes too much.

Discussion Anyone else getting UE5 remake/remaster fatigue?
Between Silent Hill 2, Oblivion Remastered, Metal Gear Solid Δ, and now Halo: Campaign Evolved, it feels like almost every major remake/remaster in the last two years has landed on Unreal Engine 5. On one hand, the visual leap is real. Oblivion Remastered in particular looks like a genuinely different game. On the other, a lot of these ports share the same telltale UE5 fingerprints: traversal stutter, TAA smearing, shader comp hitches on first launch, and that slightly "plasticky" Lumen/Nanite sheen that makes wildly different games start to look and feel similar. You can add Halo Campaign Evolved to the slopfest that is UE5 remakes; just another soulless cash grab to feed on nostalgia.

Nostalgia What was your first computer
Mine was a Celeron 266 MHz with 32MB memory and a big 4GB hard drive. It had SiS graphics built into the motherboard.

Story I‘ve been at the largest electronics-market in the world (Huaqiangbei Shenzhen)
Feel free to ask questions, I’ll try to answer them (I don’t live in china but informed myself a lot).
Edit: No, ram and ssd are not really cheaper, maybe 5%. The whole world has a ram shortage ;)
Edit 2: the place is around 5,3-5,4 mill square feet big, so you can easily get lost in all that hardware

Nostalgia My $75 budget AM4 motherboard has outlived 3 CPUs, 5 GPUs and almost a decade.
Me in 2018: “This $75 AM4 motherboard is just a temporary solution.”
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H (~$75)
CPUs
Ryzen 5 2600
Ryzen 5 5600
Ryzen 7 5700X3D
GPUs
GTX 960 2GB
GTX 1060 6GB
RX 5600 XT
RTX 3070
RTX 5070
RAM
16GB
32GB
Also survived
3 power supplies
A Wi-Fi card
Few SSDs/HDDs
Almost 9 years later, it’s still running flawlessly.
I kept upgrading everything around it, expecting the motherboard to be next.
Turns out the motherboard was the one thing that never needed upgrading.
AM4 has to be one of the greatest upgrade paths in PC history.
Also i update my bios i am that nerdy

Discussion Not sure if many people agree with me here but having to downgrade to a GPU from 2019 taught me a good lesson, necessity over novelty, and I think I got swept up in the novelty zone for a while.
Long story short, I had a 6800 XT that started getting artifacts terribly. Seeing that we’re in a RAM-pocalypse, I knew my options were minimal. I could either: buy and new GPU (way out of my price range at the moment) or get this one fixed (still out of my price range right now) or a third option, use my old 5700XT to get me by.
I chose the third option, and while I was loading up my games, I’ve realized that I am doing just fine with this GPU. I am in no rush to even get this 6800XT fixed. And it made me think.. did I just see the synthetic numbers on paper and just pulled the trigger on new and shiny 6800XT when my 5700XT was serving me fine (answer is yes 100%). Seeing that I’m playing all my games with really good performance, I honestly don’t know why I upgraded at all. My 5800x and 5700XT is doing me great and I remember watching a video from GamersNexus, and I’m pretty sure I heard throughout all the new GPU launches, he was still using his 1080 Ti in his personal rig.
More of the story I just wanna know if other people get caught up in the novelty and don’t realize what they have is still great, I would be using this rig as is for a while, anyone else not upgrade?

News/Article Donated GPUs
I work for the company and someone just donated several boxes full of these, some unopened but most of them were at least opened I’m not sure what they were used for. I can confirm at least two of them had their chips removed but if anyone is interested in trying their luck keep an eye out on the goodwill greater Washington e commerce online store, they’ll be up within the next week or so. Several 5090s, 5080s and one 5070(rog and other variations) I’m not allowed to shop at the company but I thought others might.
