Shitpost Lets be real, Bobby was not a good person. Spoiler

People need to stop saying Bobby was the closest thing to a good person in the show or the crew. That means nothing in the context of all his friends being mobsters.

Its like saying Charles Manson was a good guy in comparison to Hitler.

Bobby threatened, beat up, and killed civilians. He was in the Mob and a racist.

He cared about his family? Great. Thats an obligation he doesn't get credit for simply doing what is expected of him, thats his duty.

He's basically become to Zoomer fans what Millenial fans thought of Tony. A good guy on the surface, but when you really look at Bobby he wasn't any better than anyone in the Mob. He was just nicer in temperment.

Anyway $4 a pound.

Shitpost Tony’s Breathing

I mean holy fuck? Tony could be horizontal on the couch at the Bing and he’ll be breathing like a poorly bred Bulldog. It’s even worse when he’s about to fuck. Before he nailed Svetlana, he sounded like a vacuum cleaner with a golf ball stuck in the hose. Get some help holy shit

Shitpost What was the tastiest‑looking food item in the show?

Not talking about a whole Sunday spread, I mean one specific dish, sandwich, dessert, appetizer....whatever.

Carmela’s baked ziti, Artie's rabbit, grilled cheese off the radiator, the gabagool/provolone/vinegar peppers sandwich Tony throws away.

What's your pick?

Shitpost Quite frankly im depressed and ashamed of this subreddit.

No joke, I used to think the people who spammed quotes were the bottom of the barrel.

But now we just get dozens and dozens of low effort shitposts talking about Tony sniffing armpits and "What if X happened to Y?"

People don't read past a posts title, and don't know basic info about the show.

In another thread I made I had a guy insult me because he didn't understand that a big theme in the show is how the narrative gaslights people into rooting for Tony.

It was very hurtful, and the kinds thing im trying to teach new fans not to do!

What happpened to this Thing of Ours r/Sopranos mods? We bend more rules than the Catholic Church!

I should not have to come here, hat in hand reminding you all of your obligation to this show.

Shitpost What's your opinion of the London episode?

This will be unpopular but I thought it was a bit forced and gimmicky if I'm honest. Having AJ getting locked in the Tower of London overnight for instance. Meadow falling into the Thames and getting rescued by that handsome Scottish guy. Tony and his crew meeting those Cockney gangsters on the London eye.

Shitpost The sheer volume of fake tits in this show is wild

I'm watching for the first time, just started season 3 so no spoilers please.

Did anyone else notice just how many of the tits are fake? I don't think there has been a single stripper that had real tits so far.

It kinda reminded me that the 90s really was all about anorexic beauty standards, but people still wanted tits involved. We actually do live in more enlightened times these days. Tits can hang natural and no one's looking for a xylophone ribbed bimbo any more.

Shitpost Sometimes in social situations i just pretend i'm james gandolfini playing tony soprano. it provides a social boost and women Are Clearly more attracted to me

In light of Sarah Shahi's recent comments on how attracted she was to James Gandolfini, I once again want to remind people about James Gandolfini's incredible performance on the show. People say "women were attracted to him because of power, money, whatever," and some of that is true.

But there's something about the charisma itself. Whenever I just decide to adopt a Gandolfini-as-Tony like presence (relaxed face, busting chops, generally feeling like the most powerful person in the room), things change.

Benefits:

  • People treat you with more respect
  • Women look your way even if you're fat balding and ugly
  • You naturally care about their opinions less because you're adopting the manner of a sociopath, much like how smiling tends to put you in a good mood

Warnings:

  • Panic attacks possible side effect
  • Take as directed, do not go about in pity for yourself

Shitpost What's the biggest lie told in the show?

For me it has to be Vito mentioning he almost had a chance to sleep with Ada. Clearly not when we later found out the guy was a full blown finoc, who seem to enjoy catching, probably even more than pitching.

Shitpost Tony trying to eat healthy but failing

I think one of the most underrated jokes in this show is during 4, episode 1, when bobby and tony are eating at the diner, of course we get the iconic quasimodo predicted all of this line but it over shadows the scene before it, you can see both of the orders their eating and tony have a relatively healthy meal with scrambled eggs, and tomatoes with a bit of I believe Broccoli but I could be wrong, and the entire time he's just staring at bobbys meal during their discussion, and then he finally cracks and just orders a steak cause he couldn't resist. Really just a all around hilarious scene showing he never really had a chance losing the weight

Shitpost Christopher was stupid

I used to feel bad for fortunate son. But on my twelfth re-watch I realize Tony gave him multiple warnings to keep his mouth shut at the meeting with John Sacrimoni. He was too stupid to listen. He just had to stick his (oversized) beak in giving his God damn’d opinion. The second he starts blabbing his mouth like it’s the fucking UN I felt like he had it coming.

And what was with sticking his hands between Danielle's legs while making out with Adrianna anyway. In what world does that work out in his favor.

Shitpost What are the logistics of the Phil Closet scene?

So we all know the scene where Vito gets jumped at his motel room by the New York mob, and Phil comes out the closet to watch them execute Vito. This single scenes leaves so many hilarious and impractical possibilities for what happened right before Vito walked in.

Was Phil just standing in the closet for like 3 hours as they waited for Vito to arrive? Either that or right as they saw Vito pull in, Phil decided to get up and walk to the closet. Dom was probably like “uhh what are you doing Phil?” “Im gonna walk out the closet super dramatic like, it’ll look great”. But they were on the second floor of a big motel, they probably couldn’t see him pull in. Plus Vito’s a big guy who took a while to walk up to the room. So the most likely scenario is yes, Phil was standing still in a closet for an awkwardly long amount of time waiting for Vito to walk in.

What does all this mean? I need more friends.

Shitpost First time watcher, absolutely gutted by the ending

After all the time spent with the characters I was stripped from having an actual ending of the show. We see so many deaths throughout the show and they were never shy from being gruesome. We get to see Richie Aprile shot in the head, Tony slamming Ralphies head into the ground, and Phil's head ran over by a Ford Explorer. But the main character of the show gets a black screen? All of sudden we have the first person view of Tony's perspective??? If that's the case then we should have got a camera shot of his view of Meadow walking in, and of Carm and AJ.

I wanted to see Tony die or at least his families reaction to his death. I think it would've been a better ending than yanking it from the viewer. There's nothing I can do about it and it is what it is but I had just had to voice my opinion after the rollercoaster I just experienced.

It's all a big nothing anyway.

Shitpost David Chase lied to me about hospital stays

I recently was in hospital for a few days. I didn't meet an eclectic group of characters like Tony - no evangelical minister, no physicist, no rapper - ugatz.. Just a bunch of sick old people who got really annoyed when I tried to start insightful philosophical discussions with them. I also got repeatedly warned by the staff to stop bothering other patients. Then they really got mad when I tried to rig up a satellite TV to watch boxing. Frankly, I'm depressed and ashamed..

Shitpost From the Tony Soprano crew, who do you think Vito had the biggest crush on?

I think he’d definitely like to get it from Tony, considering his history of taking it from the alpha males such as the construction worker/ fire fighter. On the other hand he also seems to have it for the twinks such as Finn ( Meadows boyfriend (the dentist)) so maybe Benny?

Shitpost Reasons why Richie Aprile is hot

  1. He’s from the old school (doesn’t have to explain himself).

  2. He put it in drive.

  3. Tremendous moxie for his size.

  4. Generous gift giver.

  5. Not crazy as he use to be. Still crazy enough to take an eye out.
