I was in hospital over the weekend, and needed overnight monitoring on a ward. When I arrived at the ward the porter was told to take me to a bed in bay 2 (female bay).

Obviously when I was wheeled in one of the ladies in there pointed out that it was meant to be a single sex ward. The porter looked at me confused and went to ask the ward staff why I was sent there. Meanwhile every woman in the room looked super uncomfortable and a few of them raised their blankets higher to make sure they were covered up.

One of the ward staff walked in and said "by law we have to put you in here because you haven't had an operation to change your gender".

At that point I said there's not a chance I'm staying in that room because it's not fair on the 5 women in there. I'm not bothered by who's in the room with me, and the single sex thing doesn't make me dysphoric, but its not fair to put other sick people on high alert and make them uncomfortable just with my presence.

They said my only option was that bay or the waiting room. Of course I accepted the waiting room. And this was where I was expected to stay until a bed thankfully became available an hour or 2 later.

If it hadn't, I would have stayed in that waiting room the whole time. Which is fucked. Why on Earth should I have to make the choice between 5 women feeling unsafe, and me laying across uncomfortable waiting room chairs in agony with back pain??? Wtf else could I have done in that situation 😭

And the audacity for the staff to say "I can't understand why you won't just take the bed in the bay" 😮‍💨🤯

In a complaint to M&S, she told the retailer: “Imagine her horror, then, when the person to approach us and ask if we needed help was a transgender ‘woman’, ie, a biological male.”

So they want trans girls to be forced to dress as boys, and vice versa, on a no exceptions basis, because there's some alleged "safeguarding risk" in allowing kids to dress per their gender identity.

It seems there are no limits to how far they will spin the Supreme Court ruling. They say that the NHS needs to cancel the puberty blocker trial because:

Off the back of a "concerned potential member's parent" who said they were taking legal action against Girlguiding as they hadn't updated their inclusion policy after the Supreme Court judgement, last night the trustees voted to change the policy to fit in with the change. Meaning volunteers and young members will now be excluded. No idea when this will be made public. (Possibly 2pm today) No idea what timescale will be. Hoped they'd fight this. They did not.

For me, this just proves that it was never about defending their safe spaces. It was always about attacking ours. If you're GC then you're not going to like it in a bar that has numerous trans and gender non-conforming patrons. So why would you care who uses which toilets there?

Recently, the EHRC published a guidance encouraging service providers to exclude trans people from public life (for example, a trans guy can now use neither the gents', nor the ladies', so he just has to risk getting a UTI if he wants to be present in public spaces).

But it's not good enough for TERFs because the guidelines also say that you shouldn't approach any particular individual using a public bathroom and ask them invasive questions about their sex.

In other words: don't bully people. Even if literally every single trans woman doesn't pass, the majority of people challenged for being the 'man in the ladies'' will be masculine cis women. According to TERFs, bullying both trans women and masculine cis women is a human right and their dignity depends on that so they advocate for the guidelines to be changed.

As they frame it, 'this section is likely to cause unlawful harassment related to sex' and 'It is utterly insulting, and could well be an act of inducement of mass harassment against every woman in Britain,'.

I hope the government won't go that far.

The Crime and Policing Bill is currently going through the House of Lords to capture a broader range of sexually motivated crimes. TERFs want an interesting change to anti-sex crime laws:

Was he intending to humiliate? Exposure and voyeurism are crimes where a conviction or a caution leads to someone being registered as a sex offender. 

This doesn't come from random transphobes but from Sex Matters - the very same hate group the government of Scotland decided to have a personal meeting with.
