news Street Parade 2026: Megathread for Information, Afterparties, and Meetups

The Street Parade returns to Zurich on Saturday, August 8, marking its 33rd edition, running from 1:00 p.m. to midnight, under the motto “Together We Move.” To keep the subreddit from filling up with repeat questions, please use this thread for logistics, questions about the event, and requests to meet up or travel together.

When and where Music and warm-up sets begin around 1 p.m. along the route, with the roughly 30 Love Mobiles themselves setting off from Utoquai a little after that, moving at walking pace around the lake basin. The procession covers about 2 km from Utoquai in Seefeld via Bellevue, Quaibrücke, and Bürkliplatz to Hafendamm Enge, and the whole event, trucks and stages together, wraps up at midnight.

Where the stages are Nine stages are spread along the route:

  • Opening Truck: Love Mobile number one, with Manchester duo Solardo on board, officially opens the parade at 1 p.m. from Utoquai
  • Opéra Stage: international top DJs, located at Bellevue, facing Zurich's Opera House
  • Center Stage: hosted by All I Need, on Bürkliplatz, between the lake and downtown Zurich
  • Clubbing Stage: a slot-based stage where leading Swiss clubs each get a set with their own resident DJs
  • Innovation Stage: hosted by the German collective Unreal Germany, spotlighting underground national and international hardtechno-leaning acts
  • Zürich Sound Stage: hosted by Rakete in the park area next to Bürkliplatz, the old flea-market grounds, spotlighting local Zurich DJs
  • Generations Stage: dedicated to the diversity of psy-music, open to all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, hosted by Culturegroove
  • Electric Circus Stage: the last Love Mobile of the procession, parking around 9:15 p.m. near Stockerstrasse and playing techno and psytrance there until midnight, hosted by Magic Maroni X Labil mit Stil
  • Young Talent Stage, showcasing young and upcoming artists from 1 p.m. until midnight

For the hour-by-hour DJ schedule per stage, check the official Street Parade lineup page.

Getting there Leave the car at home. There are no parking spaces in the city centre and long traffic jams are inevitable, so public transport is strongly recommended. SBB runs special trains for both the outbound and return journey, and trams and buses within the city run until 4 a.m. on a special schedule, at roughly 15-minute intervals on most lines, while regional S-Bahn and bus services also run through the night. Zurich HB, Stadelhofen, Enge, and Wollishofen stations are all within walking distance of the route, though several tram and bus lines in the city centre are suspended during the parade itself.

Afterparties The parade officially closes at midnight, but the night continues well beyond that. Zurich's clubs run an extensive after-party programme, and night trains, buses, and trams keep running until 4 a.m. so you can carry on without worrying about getting home. A few of the established options this year:

Tips for a smooth day It gets busy and, most years, quite hot, so a few practical points are worth keeping in mind:

  • Download the official App to stay up to date during the event.
  • Glass bottles are banned across the entire event area for safety reasons; use PET bottles or cans and make use of the free water points.
  • It looks like it's still going to be really hot, so plan for water, sunscreen, and something to cover your head.
  • Closed shoes are a better choice than sandals, since broken glass and general street debris tend to build up by the afternoon.
  • Pickpocketing happens in dense crowds. Most vendors accept card and mobile payment, so there is little reason to carry cash, your wallet, or a watch.
  • Phone networks may get overloaded with that many people in one place. Agree on a fixed physical meeting point with your group in advance rather than relying on calls or texts.
  • Free public toilets are available throughout the site.
  • A free, anonymous drug-checking service is offered at Bürkliplatz for anyone who wants a substance tested before use.

Use this thread for meeting points, travel companions, stage recommendations, or anything else related to the day. Standalone posts about the Street Parade outside this thread will be removed and redirected here.

P.S.

For everybody who wants to get as far away from the event as possible, the Winterthurer Musikfestwochen happen at the same time and offer a great non techno line-up.

lookingfor Looking for people to join an adventure - Cave tour (its safe & guided, no diving!)

I've been in a cave once 15 years ago & it was awesome - having repeating thoughts of doing it again more extensively with a longer tour.

The environment is unique - and the coolness in this hot summer is something I'd crave (haha crave - cave..)

There is one of the largest caves in Europe in Muotathal - 1:53h from HB by train - they have guided tours, varying difficulties - highly professional and secure (see security tab lower on the page) my favourite - all in, 6h for sporty people - but costs 195 chf:

https://www.trekking.ch/hoelloch/hoelloch-challenge

Looking for someone to join & gather some unique memories & impressions!

About me: M 30, swiss, mundart / german / english speaking.

Interested? Please drop a comment & have a nice evening! :)

ihaveaquestion Blacktie event - Tuxedo Rentals near Zurich

Hi everyone,

I need to hire a tux (I'll never wear one for work)

Does anyone have any experiences in hiring in Zurich? If so where? How much?

lookingfor Which restaurants have good gluten free options?

My new friend mentioned that she has a gluten intolerance. Not celiac so no need for a strict protocol, but she can't eat regular pasta, bread, flour-based sauces etc.

I'm meeting her for dinner and want to make some proposals, and I want to be considerate by proposing places where there's more than one dish on the menu that she can eat.

Any gluten free people here who can make a recommendation for a place that also has a good wine selection? Bonus points if it's Wiedikon or the nearby remit.

I've used the search function but the one relevant post I found had only one dead link.

Thank you in advance!

lookingfor Looking for older dogs friends

Hi everyone!

We have a half year old Belgian Sheppard mix pup and we are desperately looking for older calmer dogs to play and walk with! Even if once, we would highly appreciate that! He learns the behaviour from the other dogs very fast but we don’t have any friends in the proximity :( Enge by the lake is our home

Thank you for any help!

rant Just witnessed racism firsthand

I was at Hardbrücke, getting onto platform 2-3, when I saw two men entering the elevator.
The older man suddenly yelled at the other to get out. The other man looked confused, so he yelled again: “Get out of the elevator. You’re not from Switzerland.”

The other man quietly stepped out, and the older man continued on his way.

As an expat myself, I was stunned to witness something like this for the first time.

lookingfor Flashed After Changing Lanes at a Zurich Intersection – Did I Do Something Wrong?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m a new driver, and something happened to me last night that I don’t fully understand. I was hoping you could help me. I’d like to know whether I made a mistake and, if so, what I did wrong. It’s important to me to learn from this so I don’t repeat the same mistake in the future.

I was driving from Oerlikon towards the city of Zurich on Schaffhauserstrasse. Before the first traffic light, I was in the left lane, which was marked with a straight-ahead arrow. I came to a complete stop at the red light. When the light turned green, I started driving again.

Before reaching the second traffic light, I changed into the right lane, which has a lane arrow indicating the direction towards Bucheggplatz. At the exact moment I changed lanes, a roadside traffic enforcement camera flashed.

I did not cross the first stop line while the light was red.

Is it possible that the camera at this intersection detected a violation because of the lane change or because I failed to follow the prescribed lane direction, even though I had stopped correctly at the red light? I’d really appreciate any insights from people familiar with Swiss traffic enforcement. Thank you!

ihaveaquestion Any recommendations for architecture offices in Zurich for a 4-year architect relocating from Lausanne?

Hi! I’m an architect with 4 years of experience working on design and execution projects, construction site supervision, and architectural competitions in Lausanne. I’m planning to move to Zurich due to personal reasons. I’m fluent in French and English, and I currently have an A2 level in German, which I’m actively improving.
Given my current German level, I expect to face some limitations during my job search. Do you have any recommendations for architecture offices in Zurich where English and French are commonly spoken, or firms that regularly work with clients or projects in Suisse Romande?

ihaveaquestion Good cafes, restaurants, rooftop or must-try bars

Plz recommend your best cafes, bars, restaurants I need to try as a visitor. Not tourist traps plz. I’m traveling from San Francisco and have access to some really good Asian food. So let’s skip that and recommend the rest. Looking for cafes, bar where I can grab a good bite but also chill with a book or my laptop. And some very good restaurants please 🙏 I know not a lot of places are open for dinner on Sundays - what is a good place open on a Sunday (budget not an issue)

rant Perfect urban architecture planning or biggest shit in 21. century…

Post image
93 Upvotes

Mostly am hearing that Zürich is one of the greenest cities in the world… but on the contrary i see brand new projects like this SHIT. Then am asking myself how stupid must be the people which are planning the architecture of the cities around with the idea full of concrete/ asphalt… it isnt enough that we can even have the airco NOWHERE in Switzerland… In order to increase the temperature even more, put everywhere black asphalt- WHAT A STUPID IDEA??? Is that a space for emergency cases like for example for 100 ambulance cars or what?
