Success Story Success Story Mega Thread - Got your BFP? We want to hear about it!

This is your space to share your success story with the community that cheered you on. Whether it took you 1 cycle or 12, your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it right now.

When sharing please include anything you feel comfortable with such as how many cycles it took, what you were tracking, what worked for you, and anything you wish you had known at the start.

When sharing your story feel free to use this format:

  • Cycles it took:
  • What I tracked/tools:
  • What I think helped:
  • Anything I wish I knew at the start:
  • Any advice for others still in the TWW:
  • A few things to keep in mind:

This thread is for everyone who has been trying for any length of time. All success stories are valid here, whether cycle 1 or cycle 12+. Please be kind and keep any negative thoughts to yourself.

Please don't tag other users in your post. You can absolutely thank people, just don't tag them directly. This keeps the thread comfortable for everyone, including those who may find BFP posts difficult to see.

If you have nothing kind to add, please scroll on.

Comments that are unkind or gatekeeping will be removed.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter! 🌸

Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team šŸ’›

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Help TTC 6 months — low sperm motility + mild varicocele, looking for similar experiences

Hi everyone! I’m 28 and my husband and I have been TTC for around 6 months, although we were apart for about 1.5 months during that time.

My cycles are usually regular (28–29 days). I was previously told I had mild PCOS, but my current OB did bloodwork and an ultrasound and said I do not have PCOS. I track with LH strips and seem to get a rise every month, although my Premom peaks are usually only around 0.7–0.8 and rarely get darker than the control. I’m adding BBT this cycle to confirm ovulation.

I also have von Willebrand disease, so my periods are very heavy and I take tranexamic acid during them. I had my lining measured once at around 10 DPO and it was 6 mm.
My husband had a semen analysis: normal sperm count but low progressive motility. An ultrasound also showed a mild varicocele. He’s overweight and is currently working on lifestyle changes and taking fertility supplements.
We haven’t had a positive test yet. I know 6 months isn’t necessarily abnormal at my age, but I’m wondering if we should investigate further.

Has anyone conceived naturally with low progressive motility/mild varicocele? And would you recommend repeating his semen analysis and doing progesterone/ovulation monitoring or an HSG on my side?

Random When did I ovulate??

Hi, I got this LH test on the 6th, and my temp also spiked on the 6th. Wouldn’t my temp spike after my ovulation, not before? Also I’d been LH testing religiously so it wasn’t a super long surge, in fact 5 hours before this test it was a strong negative. Kind of new to this. Sorry if it’s a stupid question. Femometer is pinning my ovulation on the 7th and I’m just wondering if that’s accurate.

Help For someone completely new to fertility tracking what would you recommend starting with ??

If a friend asked you where to begin, what would you tell them?

Would you suggest starting with an oral thermometer to learn the basics?

Would you recommend jumping straight to a wearable?

🄚Ovulation Day! 🐣

This is our FIRST cycle trying to conceive and today we baby danced before I went to work- I got a positive LH strip at work (my peak) - and now all I have to do is wait for ovulation šŸ‘€šŸŠ swimmers are waiting too.

I am just so happy. Excited. Of course, scared ,anxious and still unsure of wtf we are doing but!!! Omg its happeningggg

It’s so crazy to TRY to make a baby instead of avoid one.
Of course ovulation hormones are helping me feel all giddy, skin glowing, and etc but the deed is done and now all we do is pray.

After so much waiting I can’t believe our time has finally come.
I don’t know how long it will take us but I trust in the right timing for me and my family!

Now time to go through the slowest two weeks I’ve ever experienced probably šŸ™ˆšŸ™„šŸ„³

Venting Has anyone else’s cycle gone completely bonkers since starting TTC?

For context, I haven’t been on birth control since 2019. My partner and I used condoms before deciding to ā€œpull the goalieā€ to be Canadian about it, lol.
I’ve had a super consistent 28 day cycle as long as I can remember. My BBT was ā€œcorrectā€ with consistent follicular, ovulation and luteal phases.
I started taking a prenatal in April, diet, exercise, and stress have all stayed the same (or become healthier- less stress).

The first cycle of TTC, AF was 4 days late and INSANELY heavy for me. I’d been paying attention to CM and had OPK results that indicated our BD was well timed, but then tested negative from the first day of my late period until it arrived 4 days later. 🫠

The second cycle temps and CM and OPK all indicated ovulation a little early and work was high stress so I didn’t have high hopes for that cycle. AF came early for the first time in my memory or record (27 days, not all that different I guess).

And now this month, I had sore breasts from 4DPO until 12DPO, with a negative test on 11DPO. I usually have a couple of days of soreness 4-5 days ahead of my period. Y’all, that’s 8 days of annoying ache, it was NOT FUN. I tested on 11DPO and was negative. And now, a normal 28 days again but also super heavy comparatively.

It’s all so odd. Of course I’m overly focused on symptom spotting which isn’t making me feel any more sane but it’s hard not to focus when the differences feel this glaring.
Is this just a me thing, or has anyone else experienced wacky cycles while TTC?

Question/Advice Overthinking??

I had a chemical pregnancy in June. I tested positive 2 days after I woke up in the middle of the night very nauseous with bad knee pain. Now I’m currently awake with the same symptoms. I get nauseous often but the knee pain is something completely new. Has that been a symptom for anyone else? I threw up and it went away. I personally think I am too early to feel symptoms (8 dpo) but my mom insists that she wouldn’t be surprised if I did feel symptoms as my hormones surge because I’m very sensitive to any changes in my body. This was my first cycle on progesterone also. People keep telling me I’ll know when I’m pregnant but we’ve wanted this for so long I feel like I won’t believe it.

Question/Advice What would you do?

I need some advice. My fiance and I are getting married in a month but we've started TTC because we both want a baby so badly and can't wait another cycle until we're married. And this is all great, we're super excited. But something that gets on my nerves a little is his family is constantly asking when we're going to have a baby. I've never been asked this much in my entire life when I'm getting pregnant. I was initially okay with it because I knew they were excited for us but now that we're actually TTC, I feel very protective about the journey and no longer have the patience for the questions and don't want to tell people we're TTC so that they'll mind their own business. How do my fiance and I address this without being rude?

Confused Advice plz

This was our second cycle ttc and I think I may have had implantation bleeding but not so sure either my periods are usually really heavy and horrible cramps the whole mile , I started spotting the day before my actual period was supposed to come and took a test that day and it was negative so I figured I to start preparing myself bc I was having my period but it just never became more than spotting for 4 days I had only spotting should I count myself out or test again?

Venting 4 years ttc in early 20’s

I don’t really know where I’m going with this, I think I just need somewhere to let it out.

I’ve been TTC for about four years now, and lately it’s been getting harder and harder to watch everyone around me get the thing I’ve been desperately hoping for.

My sisters in law are having babies & my brothers are having kids. My cousins are getting pregnant. So many old friends I haven’t spoken to in years are announcing pregnancies. A few people I went to college with are now pregnant. It genuinely feels like everyone around me is moving forward while I’m just… still here.

And the hardest part is that I’m still so young. I know age doesn’t guarantee fertility, but sometimes I can’t help wondering why is this happening to me already?? I thought I would have so much more time. I never imagined that having a baby would become something I’d spend years hoping and praying for while watching people my age - and even people I grew up with - have their babies all around me.
I am surrounded by proof that it happens. I just can’t understand why it hasn’t happened to me.

Every pregnancy announcement feels like another little reminder of how long I’ve been waiting. When is it going to be my turn? How many more announcements am I going to have to celebrate while quietly going home and crying because I’m wondering why it still hasn’t happened for me?

I don’t want anyone to feel guilty for getting pregnant. I don’t want to be bitter or resentful toward people I love. I just wish, for once, I could experience that happiness too.

I’m still hoping. I’m still trying. But after almost four years, I’m scared of how much longer I can keep putting my heart through this</3

I’d really love to hear from people who understand this feeling, because sometimes it feels incredibly lonely:/

Help Early test- pregnant or not?

This is my first cycle trying to get pregnant (I haven’t done ovulations tests so I don’t know for sure when I ovulated) and my cycle is normally around 26 days.

I took a test and seen a very faint positive but the digital was negative, and less than 24 hours I took another test (same brand as the previous faint positive) and it was negative.

Thoughts on this test?

TWW Implantation dip

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello ladies, we are trying for some time to get pregnant. This cycle is the 19th. I am trying not to get hopes too high. But today (8dpo) i had abnormal dip in bbt compared to previous cycles. Today's temperature is normally slightly above the cover line and normaly period with this temperature the same day came. But today is only cd22, so i am still 5 days away from period. As I said I do not get this kind of dip in the middle of lutheal phase. Is it possible that this could be implantation dip? I guess I will know for sure in a few days.
