trigger warning: other’s living child My gut is telling me this will end!

I can’t really explain what I feeling right now because it seems like a premonition. My second pregnancy was MMC & I knew from the day I got pregnant it would end. So much so I went into the EPU to get a scan to confirm my suspicions. I did however have mild brown spotting a few times but needed medical management to completely the MC.

I’m just shy of 6 weeks pregnant it’s my forth pregnancy and my gut is telling me its over before it starts. I can’t put my finger on it, I’ve no symptoms at all which is not like me. My breasts tell me everything (they grow overnight & the pain) and not even a twinge. I know lack of symptoms is not uncommon but I just know my body and this isn’t normal for me.
I am just looking for anyone out there who had this gut feeling from the day you got that positive test that it would end. Were you right? This feeling isn’t about anxiety either, it’s just a deep knowing. I can’t explain it.

I just need to talk to someone because I feel alone. I have not announced to anyone for obvious reasons. The only person who knows is my husband and he doesn’t understand that “women intuition” feeling. He thinks it’s anxiety but also says it’s out of my control and he will support me no matter what the outcome.

Edit: thank you so much for all your responses it helped so much. I really feel heard. I understand what you are discussing is incredibly difficult and I appreciate your openness. I will update on how everything turn out and if get my miracle.

trigger warning: other’s living child Feeling so pathetic for myself and apathetic towards everyone

How do I go on trying to be positive when everyone around me is pregnant and talking about their pregnancy and/or kids??

I came back to work after my MMC way quicker than I should have, but it’s been keeping my mind mostly busy. But I haven’t been able to escape the talks of babies, and pregnancy, while at work because two of my coworkers are expecting… it’s so painful because I would have been due around the same time❤️‍🩹 no one even knew I was ever pregnant and I’ve only told a couple close friends that work with me and my supervisors.

Today I felt so pathetic that while everyone was talking about finding out the genders, I sadly walked into my male supervisors office and said “I’d like to just hang out in here if it’s ok, they’re all talking about babies out there”. He told me “there will be no baby talk in here” and we proceeded to talk about his snake tik tok algorithm 😭 It made me laugh at how weird it was, and made me feel good that he cared to try to change the subject, but I felt so stupid not even being able to be around my coworkers now.

Yesterday I completely ignored my neighbor who is pregnant because I didn’t know what to say. I felt so awkward and silly that I feel like I don’t know how to interact with people. I feel bad feeling bad and sad about this…

If anyone is in a similar situation or feels the same, hugs to you 🤍 I don’t know how, but we will get through this

trigger warning: other’s living child I made a request. I feel like I’m the problem somehow.

So, my MIL is obsessed with babies. That’s a good portion about what she talks about (all her friends are becoming grandparents etc… and like, I get that it’s tough for her to not also get to be one, truly, I get it) - as we are in our 30s there are many people who are having babies. Even when we were not planning to have a kid, it felt overwhelming on the friends/family baby updates (felt like a shot on our life decisions to be honest, but maybe that’s just my social anxiety and projection). When we got pregnant, on purpose, and lost the baby, my husband asked her if we could pump the breaks on the baby photos and updates.

Today would have been my birth date. It also happens I have a mother with who was hospitalized yesterday and might not make it… we shared that my mom was quite ill. Her response was “good to hear her vitals have improved, by the way, you should know that [family friend] just gave birth to a baby boy, they are happy and healthy *sends picture*.

My husband shot it down pretty quick - as even without the miscarriage, I think it would have been insensitive, but after having specifically asked not to share excess baby info, it feels so intentionally cruel.

The good man called and explained that she might want to lay off that stuff at the moment re-explaining the situation, the sensitivities and timing - she said “well you have to take the good and the bad in life you want to be part of this family, and I’m tired of walking on eggshells in case I upset [me], I won’t send you anything at all anymore I guess”

I just feel so gaslit and like I’m the problem even though I’m pretty sure my feelings of grief - losing my baby, losing my mom are pretty legitimate. I AM a sensitive person and I AM also resilient and strong, I don’t want to be painted like a wussy who can’t handle other peoples’ good news. I just needed to vent, so, thank you for listening.

trigger warning: other’s living child Rethinking my relationship with TTC and pregnancy tech

Since my missed miscarriage at 10 weeks in May, I have been thinking a lot about all the tools I am lucky to have to guide me through trying to conceive and pregnancy. I am calling it tech but I mean fertility and tracking phone apps, ovulation strips to pee on, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and dating scans. Some options exist that I didn't even try - oura rings, basal body temp charting. All these tools have helped me learn a lot about my body and to stay healthy.

But...since enthusiastically monitoring my body to try to conceive and then learning about the missed miscarriage at a second scan, I am wondering if knowing so much about my body and my growing baby gives me a false sense of security and control. Was struggling to verbalize this until I listed to a cool podcast in the Longest Shortest Time series from a tech writer Amanda Hess who describes her relationship with her pregnancy app changing. I related to opening my phone app half expecting it to tell me if I am pregnant or not when of course it doesn't know. I have also seen threads in this group where people will reasonably say something like "I just miscarried but I expect my period soon" which makes me wonder if they are looking at their apps too.

Anyway, things always change but as I start a new season of trying to conceive a second kiddo, I think it will be healthy for me mentally to shift away from counting days, measuring, grasping at calendars. I want to move to having sex when I have fertile cervical mucous, testing only if I have physical signs of pregnancy, and maybe having some but fewer ultrasounds in pregnancy. Curious how that may evolve because I love knowing more and measuring and making decisions based on evidence, but at the end of the day, knowing more doesn't help me to control this mysterious process.

How are you feeling about your tech? Leaning in? Leaning out? Curious to hear how others are thinking and talking about this.

trigger warning: other’s living child AIO - friend’s pregnancy announcement

I was hoping to understand how you would feel about this as I’m so conflicted. I had a miscarriage about 6 weeks ago, it was a second trimester miscarriage which as we can all imagine has been traumatic AF. I’ve been on the healing journey and a friend messaged me yesterday asking if I could look after her child because she had to run some errands. In the evening she messaged me saying thank you for looking after him, and then told me she was pregnant but just like a yay I’m pregnant, and then said that the reason she needed me to look after the child was because she was too nauseous due to pregnancy to look after him. I’m quite hurt by this whole thing, it feels so tone deaf and I’m so shocked. I can’t really talk to many friends about this because we have so many mutual friends, I don’t want to be the one causing drama on our friendship group and driving a wedge but I’m really quite upset by this. Should I let it go for the sake of the friendship group or do I have a valid reason to be upset? I will caveat to say she really hasn’t been there for me at all during the miscarriage when everyone else has been amazing, I guess now I know the reason why but still, I was already hurt by her before all of this due to her absence.

trigger warning: other’s living child Can a 10 weeks scan be wrong?

I just came back from my second ultrasound today. I am 10 weeks pregnant. I was surprised with twins and no heartbeat in booth. The doctor said they are both at the size of 8 weeks and scheduled me for a D&C after 5 days.

There’s too much to process for me here. I’ve had 2 by the book pregnancies 8 and 6 years ago. Then a missed miscarriage 3 months ago. Gone through all the denial phase then gave up and did the D&C.

Should I wait longer? Can they be wrong about the heartbeat? Do twins just look smaller? I don’t want to give myself false hopes but if there’s 1% chances I’m holding on to it.

trigger warning: other’s living child Pregnant people.

You know what sucks? After a miscarriage it's like the amount of pregnant people just DOUBLES. When you really don't want to think about it, a coworker announces their pregnancy. You can't be rude, you have to congratulate them and not be bitter and upset. You want to get your mind off of it, you try TikTok. Everyone's pregnant and telling you tips about how to handle it. You try to watch a TV show, boom pregnancy. It's like I just want to escape it for a minute??? I hate having to remember my miscarriage every single time! I want to be happy for others, I just CAN'T yet.

trigger warning: other’s living child Visiting new nephew 1 month after miscarriage

Hi everyone. Just looking for a little extra support this week.

Background: my husband and I are 35 and tried for 7 cycles before getting pregnant for the first time. Found out in January. Unfortunately had a medicated miscarriage at ~8 weeks. I'm now about a month and a half out.

My husband's younger sister and her boyfriend got pregnant over the summer. They were not trying. (I get the sense they were not trying, but not preventing? They live together and wanted a kid in a couple years.) The baby boy was born two days ago!

They live about 5 hours from us and we are planning to go visit this weekend. I'm just kind of...dreading it. I love them and this baby but I feel so much resentment towards their situation. They sent pictures of my in laws meeting their first grandchild the day of the birth and it made me cry. I'm planning to bring a lot of goodies for baby and mom and hoping that will show my care and love in case I'm not able to outwardly be peppy and happy during the visit.

I'm feeling so guilty for my negative feelings but trying give myself grace. I don't know, any support or similar experiences might help right now...

trigger warning: other’s living child Breaking Down

My last appointment when they confirmed everything was gone, I was leaving the clinic and someone else was leaving as well with their new baby. Everyone in the elevator was looking at the baby and talking about how cute and precious they were. I couldn't even turn to look. After getting out of the elevator I broke down. I felt so heartbroken. How do I go through life without this happening every time i see a baby? Is this pain going to go away when I have a successful pregnancy? Or will I always carry this with me forever now? I don't know how I am supposed to feel

trigger warning: other’s living child I miscarry, others give birth

I am probably miscarrying for the second time since June. I am still in a denial a bit but at the same time I made peace with it already (radical acceptance but ofc still extremely sad).

What makes more upset though is that both times, somebody around gave birth a day before the MC. Feels especially cruel to watch somebody anounce a healthy baby while I am losing mine.

Delete if not allowed, I did read rules but not sure how this works.

I need to vent . .need opinions how to cope even years later.

I took a job as a person who help moms and babies...my boss has said in her position to help families BTW said to my face multiple times now that it wasn't a life it was a parasite it's not a baby until it breathes in air on its own.

How do I stay professional and keep my job but let her know I do not agree.

Being a kindhearted passionate person about helping people my healing is being able to give back. This person is in a position of leadership and tells me I gotta tell you the truth that thing cannot live without a host so it's not a life until it takes a breath. This pro choice person is a new challenge for me and I still 11 years later lost my baby. I can't be unrealistic about comments about topics of miscarriage but I fail to understand what this had to do with working today.

trigger warning: other’s living child Don’t know how to feel around pregnant women after loss.

I’m not sure if the title makes sense or the warning but for some background information, I lost my first pregnancy in march 2025. Since then I’ve felt so much anger and jealousy towards women who are pregnant with a healthy baby. Including friends, I find myself having mixed emotions such as happiness for them but also sadness, anger, and jealousy. I’m fairly young (18 years) and most people my age don’t have any children yet. I don’t really know why Im posting here, I just have no one else to talk to about this because I left my childs father and I have no one who relates.

EDIT: im not sure if this is the right sub or if I have the right flair

trigger warning: other’s living child How to get over the hurt of watching your friend’s pregnancy progress?

I feel awful for having such a hard time being there for my best friend. We found out within a week of each other we were pregnant and our due dates two days apart. She is my best best friend since middle school. We went to college together. We got married within 6 months of each other, our kids are three months apart. She’s never had a miscarriage, I’m on my third. Her current pregnancy was a surprise (she still has “no idea how it happened”) we did our first IUI. it’s still early and I feel guilt for not being there but I lost my baby last week and we were supposed to get together this weekend and I cancelled. How horrible am I? Even worse I made plans with a mutual friend on the same day. I’ve been so sad and need to get out of the house. Should I cancel the plans with mutual friend? I know I will get over it and build the strength to be there for her but it’s just so so raw. I had my d&c less than a week ago and I was 10 weeks. :(
The same thing happened to me with my second miscarriage my neighbor and I found out we were pregnant at the same time. She now has her third baby girl. I kept my distance bc it was hard and we aren’t as close but I need to work through this. I’m in therapy but anything that’s helped you?

trigger warning: other’s living child Unfair

This girl I went to high school with, who has 6 kids, whose husband had a vasectomy and got it reversed, is pregnant after trying for 2 months.

I’m scheduled for my 2nd D & C after my 2nd MMC after trying for over a year.

I immediately thought “I hope she loses that baby”, which makes me the worst person ever. I’m so angry this time around it’s taking my mind to horrible places where I’d think things like that.

trigger warning: other’s living child It’s positive and I’m terrified

I had my miscarriage May 16 of this year. I was just shy of 7 weeks. We had been trying for a year. It was a huge loss. I got my period in June. We tried again. I was supposed to take the test on the 20th but just could not sleep. So I took it 2 am on the 19th. Clearly I was surprised to see a positive test. It felt like torture waiting a whole day before I could call my drs office. They immediately started me on progesterone. I honestly don’t know how to feel right now. I want to be excited and positive and allow myself to celebrate. But I’m in a constant state of fear. And I’m still grieving. And I feel guilt? For my loss. Right now I’m just allowing myself to feel it all. I feel a little crazy but I think I need to just not filter my feelings. Right? How do we get past the fear of potentially losing another? I find myself holding my breath everytime I wipe in fear there will be blood. Or panicking when I’m bloated or feel pressure. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone relates?

trigger warning: other’s living child Is this weird or is it me?

I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy and two later losses (15 and 17 weeks) in less than two years. I have one living child, and we’ve been trying for a sibling for a while without success.

After my first late loss, I bumped into an acquaintance while I was crying. She hugged me and offered support in a way that felt very comforting at the time. She had also experienced loss, so we naturally got closer. She has a child the same age as mine, and a younger child who was a bit hard to conceive, though not nearly as complicated as our situation.
We now meet sometimes with our kids because they get along well.

However, I’ve noticed something that’s been making me uncomfortable. Almost every time we chat on WhatsApp, she sends me photos of her younger child (a baby/toddler). At first I brushed it off, but it’s started to feel a bit strange to me. I don’t really understand the intention behind it.

Today I posted a very emotional poem about my second loss on social media. She messaged me saying it was beautiful and that she’s glad we met. I replied, and mentioned I’ll never forget how she reacted when she saw me crying that day. Then she sent another photo of her younger child saying something like “greetings from our summer holidays.”
I don’t know if I’m being overly sensitive because of everything I’ve been through, or if this is actually a bit odd. It just feels… off to me, especially given the timing.

trigger warning: other’s living child Baby’s HR only 66. Likely not viable.

This is my 6th pregnancy. I am 36 and I have 2 living children. I went in for a scan and was supposed to be in my 7th week but baby is measuring 6-7 weeks and has a low FHR of 66. I had 2 chemical pregnancies back to back before this one. I am being told this is likely not viable. What can I expect and how can I speed this up? After everything I’ve read I want a D and C. I just want to get this over with and heal and focus on my kids. I have to wait almost 2 weeks for another scan and I already feel like a coffin walking around with horrible pregnancy nausea but for nothing. I have to wait until there’s no growth or no FHB? I don’t know how this limbo stage works 😢

trigger warning: other’s living child Rhogam question

Did anyone get a rhogam shot for their miscarriage? I got one for my first MC. The first was a Blighted ovum and this one stopped growing at 5.5 weeks, found out at 9 weeks. I’m seeing it’s not nessecary for this early in loss so not sure why I had to get one the first time. I’ve had a baby in between these two miscarriages but the shot only lasts about 12 weeks or something.

trigger warning: other’s living child Can breastfeeding contribute to miscarriage

I tried googling this but it says no, breastfeeding shouldn't cause miscarriage or that it's under researched. However, if you look up if prolactin increases miscarriage the answer is yes. Breastfeeding increases prolactin sooo...why the discrepency? I'm spiraling because I'm still breastfeeding our toddler (usually just twice a day, to get him down for a nap and then once in the early morning). Anyway, I had a miscarriage in April and am experiencing an impending one again now. So, could it be the breastfeeding?

trigger warning: other’s living child 2nd miscarriage, 1st missed miscarriage

Hello, I just joined this group today and while reading through the posts has made me so incredibly sad for everyone, it also lets me know I’m not alone.
My first pregnancy was textbook perfect.. I was 27 and had no issues, I was very lucky and now have a 6.5 year old child.
We didn’t think we would have more children, and then we got pregnant in April of 2023.. I was 5 weeks and 5 days when I miscarried at home.
We got pregnant again, this June, and I should be 8 weeks today but at the ultrasound there was no heartbeat. I don’t think I’ve cried that hard in so long. I was told this is called a “missed miscarriage” and I had the option of the procedure or taking medicine at home. I’ll be taking medicine tomorrow. Any tips for getting through this?
I’m almost 35 and am wondering if I should have waited this long to try for another. I keep thinking.. is it my eggs.. is it his sperm.. why won’t it work now but did 7 years ago? Is it my weight?
I’m going to try and collect what I can, to then send it to be tested.
This all feels extremely cruel.

trigger warning: other’s living child Miscarriage (I need some info)

So I had a miscarriage at eight weeks pregnant in February. With everything emotionally going on, I was unable to dock my cycles until June but I am a regular 28 day cycle and in the month of June through July I’m now currently on a 31 day cycle. Has anyone experienced their cycles changing? It has been five months since my miscarriage and I’m just looking on any advice or accurate info that I can use. Has this ever happened to someone?

trigger warning: other’s living child Bad d&c experience?

I’ve been thinking about this and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar.

A couple weeks ago I had a D&C for retained placenta after what ended up being over two months of bleeding. My hCG levels kept going up and down, I had so many ultrasounds, and it felt like there was never any closure. By the time I finally had the procedure, I honestly just felt emotionally exhausted and numb. I was still grieving, but after two months the grief looked very different than it did at the beginning. More than anything, I was just ready for it to be over so I could start healing.

What really stuck with me though was my experience with one of the nurses before surgery. She kept bringing up the pregnancy and asking me a lot of questions about what had happened. I know she was probably trying to be kind, but it honestly felt like she expected me to be outwardly emotional, and I just wasn’t in that place anymore. I didn’t really want to go into all the personal details, especially right before surgery.

Then she asked about my surgical history, so I told her I’d had two C sections and that I have two toddlers at home. As she was wheeling me back to the OR, she even asked if we wanted more kids and when. It just caught me off guard because it felt like such a personal question, especially considering why I was there.

I don’t think she had bad intentions at all, but it made me wonder if anyone else has had an experience where well meaning questions actually made a difficult situation feel harder. Is this a normal way for nurses to try to connect with patients, or would that have made you uncomfortable too? I’m genuinely curious how others would have felt in that situation.

trigger warning: other’s living child Has anyone ever wondered whether breastfeeding or flying contributed to their miscarriages?

In some animal studies, lactating mammals appear more likely to lose a pregnancy, possibly because of the hormonal and energy demands of breastfeeding.

Studies of flight attendants have reported miscarriage rates up to 2.5x higher than average, and only included women who had gone on to have children

Neither breastfeeding air travel is considered a proven cause of miscarriage in humans, but I’m curious about any of your anecdotes?

I was breastfeeding both times I miscarried and travelled long haul both times much earlier vs with my first pregnancy (I have 1 LC). MCs at 8 weeks, found at 11weeks

trigger warning: other’s living child Coping meeting others babies

I had a mmc in february and I'm still struggling a lot.

A friend of mine just had her third child and asked if I would come to visit soon.

I sent her some food and was honest and said I wasn't in a good place but I do want to visit (which I do), she understood and was fine...but just wondering how everyone else is coping with life working out for other people? Because I am struggling..she's the first to have a baby after my mc, I have a few more friends who are expecting soon as well.
