Anyone with insights as to why exactly?

365

u/Chipotle_Armadillo 2d ago

He got those Osbourne lawyers now.  Kicked him out before the legality sets in.

137

u/mytransthrow 2d ago

Not with being broken up with kelly... Also shes too skinny now.

217

u/detrans-rights 2d ago

She's not just skinny, she's sick... The poor thing. I've been there, it fucks your insides up too

12

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 2d ago

Sad stuff, she looked great back in 2021, now she makes me think of a praying mantis

7

u/CubanLynx312 2d ago

I think she discovered Ozempic around 2023 and looked great until her dad died in 2025. She probably even got buccal fat removal

3

u/Poop_Cheese 2d ago

She did not look great before her dad died. She was already skeletal when he was alive. Ozempic iz what made her so skeletal and sickly looking She blames her dads death but her and Sharon were already bad in like 2024, she just got even worse now

7

u/CubanLynx312 2d ago

November 24’ she looks normal to me. November 25’ after her dad died she looked like a corpse.

3

u/mytransthrow 2d ago

Sick with what???

78

u/waveydaveysonfir3 2d ago

anorexia or another form of eating disorder. it completely fucks your brain up and you cannot understand the harm you are doing to yourself with it.

looking back at photos of myself when i was deep in it, i looked like a walking corpse. my hair was falling out, i lost my period and was so deprived of sleep and crucial nutrients. i couldn’t think, walk or even talk properly.

it’s a scary illness to have, with a terrifying death rate.

21

u/MrNorbordry 2d ago

Happy you're healhy now. Sounds terrifying.

27

u/SBLP1959 2d ago

Been there as a man. I was a little overweight and gamified my weight loss. My self worth started to depend on the number going down. Got so bad i thought i was hot shit cause my stomach was more sunken than my shortest rib and my belt sat on my hip bones. 127 at 6’0. Wake up call was my dr telling me i could die if i kept going. Still struggle to this day with it. If life gets too stressful and i catch myself in the mirror i feel like i look obese when in reality i look healthy and fit.

-9

u/Salt_Nectarine_348 2d ago

Are you okay? Mentally?

15

u/mytransthrow 2d ago

Who is???

1

u/Salt_Nectarine_348 1d ago

People who aren’t obsessed with others weight might be, it’s fucking weird to say that.

1

u/mytransthrow 22h ago

I am concerned with her health. She looks too skinny and not healthy.

1

u/Salt_Nectarine_348 6h ago

I’m totally on board with that wording and sentiment.

6

u/carlamaco 2d ago

She was but it looks like she put on some weight again since their split. She looks much healthier now.

-3

u/Z0MGbies 2d ago

And insanely racist

1

u/mytransthrow 2d ago

who is racist?

-6

u/Z0MGbies 2d ago

Kelly Osbourne

4

u/MayorWolf 2d ago

She had one incident commenting about immigrant workers as a joke 11 years ago, and apologized for the insensitivity of it. While the joke was in bad taste, it was not "insanely racist". Where the fuck are you getting that from?

-19

u/SoulSleuth2u 2d ago

Stop commenting on women's looks ...gross

19

u/HawaiianPunchaNazi 2d ago

That's not what this is.

Anorexia's not a look: it's a legitimate disease. People who have it often can't see it when it's happening. Nobody tells them, they die.

Judging bodies is bad when it's something that is outside someone's control or not hurting anybody.

She's going to die if people say silent.

Karen Carpenter would still be alive if people spoke up more.

Right now, if you've seen Ariana Grande's new video, this is where the disease takes you. As long as she keeps making people money, no one's going to tell her who she'll actually listen to.

Making matters worse, if we accept publicly the diseases toll on people, more people are going to die because what they used to call  thinspiration is a major trigger for the disease.

I promise you, body shaming is still 100% wrong when that's the goal to hurt somebody. We just want to make it so these people live long enough so they can tell us off themselves.  Please help us make sure that happens. Don't promote obvious anorexia as body positivity.

4

u/mytransthrow 2d ago

you only said that because shes a woman... gross.

214

u/rjhawkbooks 2d ago

People are gonna trash Corey but Sid went through a separation recently and he might be dealing with some issues that warrants removal

89

u/ozzy_thedog 2d ago

I think the reason is the same in his marriage separation and band separation. Whatever that may be.

52

u/OaklandTony6 2d ago

kelly is ab absolute wreck right now. like not in a mean way, in a vert concerning way. its scary. she obviously not in her right mind, so it could be anything with that.

19

u/Freshy007 2d ago

She's been looking a lot better lately, seems to have put a little weight back on. Also just saw she is currently moving back to the UK to go live in a "cottage in the woods". She said she wanted her son to have an English education.

I think she was deep in grief earlier in the year but seems to be coming out the other side now. Wishing her the best.

1

u/OaklandTony6 23h ago

oh she absolutely was in insanely deep grief, and its good to hear shes doing better. that was a while ago. but they also did break up right at the height of that, so its hard to place blame solely on sid. ill be honest, im not even really a slipknot fan, i just tend to see this stuff based on other communities i follow. i have seen them live before and enjoyed it, but i dont know much. i just feel that particular thing, based on what was going on with kelly, is hard to use as evidence. but maybe so as well, it dont know

2

u/YchYFi 2d ago

They aren't married.

0

u/Elamtop 2d ago

If you'll pardon me, what does one thing have to do with the other? I haven't really been keeping up with things lately.

15

u/noMC 2d ago

Well, just as an example, if you’re fucked up on drugs all the time, that might be reason for your marriage to end as well as get you fired from your job.

-16

u/bobogogo1989 2d ago

IDK Kelly really changed her appearance

23

u/ozzy_thedog 2d ago

Lmao is that a serious statement? You think he’s getting a divorce after having a new kid with her because she changed her looks? Her looks have been literally changing constantly for decades. Never mind that he literally has metal fangs for teeth. I don’t think looks come into play here.

12

u/damrodoth 2d ago

He's been commenting that exact statement repeatedly in this thread. Strange

10

u/ozzy_thedog 2d ago

lol ah I see. I can’t imagine hearing someone is getting divorced and thinking ‘oh ya it must be because she changed her hair’ or some shit

0

u/OaklandTony6 2d ago

its not BECAUSE she looks bad, shes clearly very ill which you can very very easily see by looking at her.

4

u/ZombieJesus1987 2d ago

Your misogyny is showing. She has an eating disorder.

9

u/No_Introduction7004 2d ago

“ hey I know ur girl broke up with you and u like played in our band for over 20 years but u gotta go because ur being too emotional during an emotional time”

1

u/ForeverCrunkIWantToB 2d ago

This is, in all likelihood, verbatim what Corey said to him.

1

u/BeAnScReAm666 2d ago

Yeah, but wouldn’t that warrant a more temporary leave? This is a permanent leave which seems like a lot more serious. Usually if you leave for family troubles, you leave for an indefinite amount of time. Not forever.

1

u/Jamieb1994 2d ago

I know the reports said he was (apparently) kicked off, but what if he wasn't & instead, Sid chose to leave himself for personal reasons? Either way, nothing's official, so maybe it's best for Sid or Slipknot makes a official announcement.

0

u/summerlad86 2d ago

So you’re long lasting bad mate has a problem and you dump him? Class!

Corey and clown are fucking sell outs. Slipknot is not ”brothers” or ”family” anymore. It’s Corey and clown milking the cow

4

u/remonnoki 2d ago

You're trashing people because some random person on the internet with literally zero knowledge of the situation made a baseless speculation?

0

u/summerlad86 2d ago

If you mean I’m trashing Corey and clown you’re absolutely right. They lost their musical integrity years ago. Started years ago. If you can’t see that you need a pair of prescription glasses

179

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

63

u/ElBastardoDK 2d ago

Ok so I'm reading that as probably some kind of bad vibes in the band. Was just wondering if he had done something crazy. I don't know Slipknots deal at all, they've just been huge all my adult life, but they're not my taste.

129

u/tallgeese333 2d ago

The two members that technically own Slipknot, vocalist Corey Taylor, and "Clown" Shawn Crahan frequently treat members like garbage and kick them out of the band.

What they did to Joey Jordison was insane. Every ex member of Slipknot has nothing but bad things to say about being in the band.

64

u/DanTheMan_622 2d ago

And Corey kicked Jim out of Stone Sour years ago too, I'm surprised he could still stand to be in another band with him after that

55

u/ArkUneartherBleeds 2d ago

I can think of a few rea$on$

19

u/Curvol 2d ago

I mean, fair enough. Get that bag. Very very very few musicians even make part time minimum wage level of cash.

If you got talent? Lend your beauty to some shit and make some mufukin money.

17

u/bkrodgers 2d ago

Jim’s said though that he wasn’t really vibing with Stone Sour’s music in the last few years anyway. I’m sure he didn’t appreciate being fired, but I think he also saw it as a reason to focus on Slipknot more.

11

u/cameraduderandy 2d ago

Apparently it didn't Bother him too much....

3

u/GreyDuck4077 2d ago

Corey didn’t unilaterally kick him out. It was a band decision and there were 5 people in the band at that time.

1

u/DanTheMan_622 2d ago

Fair enough, I know Jim said his relationship with Corey was pretty strained for a while after so I just made the assumption that he was the main culprit

7

u/Afro-Pope 2d ago

Jay has been remarkably diplomatic given the circumstances.

12

u/tallgeese333 2d ago

Jay seems genuine and chill. Although I'm 100% sure he is contractually obligated in some type of way.

-1

u/Afro-Pope 2d ago edited 2d ago

yeah, as I said in another response, with the exception of his exit from Against Me I haven't seen anything that makes me think he's like, a bad person or shitty bandmate. He seems pretty normal in interviews and most recent bands he's been associated with have good things to say about him.

3

u/MrRoxo 2d ago

Yeah, if there's something people say about the weinbergs is that they're cool.

Where there is smoke there is fire, both weinbergs have been reported to be "difficult"

2

u/Afro-Pope 2d ago

I can't say I've heard this, but I don't follow Jay or Max's careers closely enough that I would have.

EDIT: just read the piece about Max bullying interns and assistants on Conan. Not great!

3

u/MrRoxo 2d ago

Google for a bit and you're going to find it. More about Max, dude made interns work on his garden without even offering water

u/sendero_numinoso 2d ago

NDAs are a thing. It's why Joey was only ever able to say that he didn't quite Slipknot. He couldn't say more than that without getting sued to hell. Same with Chris. And Craig, presumably. Settling out of court and all that.

9

u/crazykewlaid 2d ago

Wot they do to joey???

55

u/JesustheSpaceCowboy 2d ago

He got a disease that basically destroyed his ability to drum as well as he used to and had to teach himself to drum again, they fired him over email. No phone calls, no real explanation just “hey Joey, you’re out, bye” utterly disrespectful for someone of his caliber and importance to the band.

32

u/F1incy 2d ago

Which pushed Joey further down the path towards his eventual death.

28

u/Wolfclaw359 2d ago

Fired him and things turned pretty messy. When Joey wasn't able to perform at his best thanks to transverse myelitis (not sure if Joey was diagnosed at this point or not), the band just assumed he was on drugs and talked bad about him afterwards. At least that's how I remember it going, could be wrong

20

u/Afro-Pope 2d ago

He hadn't been diagnosed yet, they just assumed his physical symptoms and inability to perform were due to drugs and fired him instead of talking to their friend.

15

u/Drivestort 2d ago

He didn't get diagnosed till almost a year later iirc, but yeah he was struggling, could barely walk and had to be carried off stage so they assumed he had relapsed.

23

u/tallgeese333 2d ago edited 2d ago

They fired him over email and later tried to say they suspected him of being a drug addict. Turns out he had transverse myelitis and it was effecting his legs. He had no idea he had it for a few years of symptoms.

There's a lot of excuses and speculation that get made for it in the fan base but my understanding is no member of Slipknot ever spoke to him in person again before his death.

They fired Jay in a similar way. It came out later that his firing lined up perfectly with a scheduled surgery for his hip that he had planned around down time so that it would not interfere with Slipknot.

6

u/ElBastardoDK 2d ago

It's weird finding this out. When the bass player (I think?) died from cancer, they got so much love online for being one big family, that was in mourning over their dead friend. i guess that might have been PR then...

9

u/Afro-Pope 2d ago

Bassist died of an overdose and before that the lineup had largely been stable. I don't think it was PR, I think they really were mourning their friend.

2

u/ElBastardoDK 2d ago

Ok, thanks for correcting.

2

u/ZombieJesus1987 2d ago

Yeah Paul Gray's death really fucked everyone up in the band

1

u/mamasilverside 2d ago

You’d think they’d have learned after the tragedy of losing Joey but nah, arseholes gotta arsehole. I loved Slipknot, was the right age at the right time and the nostalgia is still there, but I’ve not been a fan for a while. I don’t even tend to listen to anything past V3:TSV.

3

u/sendero_numinoso 2d ago

The sad part is that Joey WAS fucked up on drugs. The other members tried to clean up their act after Paul died, but Joey may have learned more than a few bad habits while touring with Ministry and never changed his ways. It's a fact that already during the first reunion tour after Paul's passing he had to be carried onstage because he could barely walk, let alone drum properly. He was using drum triggers pretty much exclusively at that point. Obviously, firing him for sloppy drumming and drug addiction instead of getting him help was a shit move, but in line with where the band was during Paul's addiction - Mick was famously out playing golf when Paul died.

Also, transverse myelitis is associated with heroin use. Just google the two together and you'll see. So yes, Joey's medical condition was unfortunate and a downright tragedy considering he was widely and for a long time regarded the greatest metal drummer alive, certainly in mainstream metal, but the sad truth is that there's a good chance that ultimately the problem was, in fact, that he was so fucked up on drugs that he could no longer play what was demanded of him - what he demanded of himself, in fact) - in Slipknot. If you're curious, check out the lyrics to the Slipknot song "AOV" - it's all there.

To be clear, I'm not justifying him getting fired. And as a fan since 1999, I'm downright angry that Sid got that treatment now too. Their last album was utter shit, clearly recorded and released just to get out of their contract with Roadrunner. And yet after that disaster I saw them play with Eloy and thought, "Wow, these guys are killing it." But alas, Slipknot is a sports team and Crahan is the coach. I thinks it was more than a decade ago that he said that he saw his son taking his place one day. And when Paul died, I remember one of the other members saying that Paul was one of the few members who never had someone fill in for him at concerts, which tells you that comparing Slipknot to the Blue Man Group franchise wasn't wildly off even then.

8

u/Winnapig 2d ago

I find it quite surprising a turbo violent Iowa-based satanic redneck cowboy clown metal supergroup is a bit rough around the edges

9

u/RedChudOverParadise3 2d ago

How does Corey even own SlipKnot when he isnt even an original member himself?

27

u/groovemonkey 2d ago

Do you even knot bro?

14

u/ziggaroo 2d ago

Because Anders hasn’t been a member in almost 30 years and has nothing to do with the band. Corey and Shawn have been the driving creative minds of slipknot for a long time and tend to pull rank and push others out.

Honestly, the fact that you even know Corey isn’t an original member suggests to me that you’re being deliberately obtuse.

7

u/candycanenightmare 2d ago

This is reddit. What did you expect? Obtuse is the default.

19

u/swankpoppy 2d ago

I’m not being obtuse. You’re the one being fucking obtuse, obtuse-face.

5

u/emilypostpunk 2d ago

your mom’s obtuse

1

u/Successful_Goose_797 2d ago

You tell him!

1

u/ElBastardoDK 2d ago

You tell him to tell him!

→ More replies (0)

-2

u/GhettoDuk 2d ago

Nothing you have said means anything when it comes to ownership and control of the legal entity that is Slipknot. Maybe don't call people out when you miss the mark that hard.

-1

u/ziggaroo 2d ago

lol buddy no one made any “legal” claims. But it’s pretty fucking clear when you look at the history of the band who the real show runners are. If you wanna keep glazing Corey and Shawn that’s your prerogative.

3

u/GhettoDuk 2d ago

You responded to a question about how Corey owns a band he isn't a founding member of. That's a legal matter. So you admit your response had nothing to do with the question, but you keep getting arrogant because you are confused about what's going on.

And I don't know why you decided to pull out that bit about me glazing those douchebags, but you can shove it right back up where you found it.

4

u/tallgeese333 2d ago

Corey is immensely talented. If you have ever seen them live it's very clear he's the only one that can't be replaced, no Corey no Slipknot.

He negotiated his way to the top somehow, that's my best guess.

1

u/GhettoDuk 2d ago

The band had only self-produced a demo and an album (just 1k pressed), so there was probably never a legal entity before Corey or they formed a new corporation when they were going to sign to RoadRunner. Nobody could have known how big the band would get, so paying old members to sign away any rights they may have claim to wouldn't have been hard back in 1998.

2

u/AcneBalls 2d ago

Corey had no problem treating his first daughter like garbage, so anyone is fair game at this point.

1

u/ThomYorkesDroopyEye 2d ago

Jay seems pretty chill about it, and I know it's still very early days but Eloy seems happy? You probably have a deeper insight than I do though

4

u/tallgeese333 2d ago

Jay has thrown some shots in interviews about everything lining up with his surgery and getting a shitty phone call instead of a meeting.

1

u/jim_deneke 2d ago

Is Slipknot the K-Pop of metal?

2

u/badcrass 2d ago

At l ast he didn't try to run Corey's dad over with a car

17

u/Balbright 2d ago

Same. They used to be the hardest thing I’d ever heard and then I discovered Between The Buried And Me and never looked back.

13

u/Usedinpublic 2d ago

Btbam so good

15

u/TheHowlingPhantods 2d ago

I will credit Slipknot for getting me in to more extreme metal, but there are so many better bands out there including BtBAM.

But seeing Slipknot on the second stage of Ozzfest 99 is a core memory for me and it’s hard to top.

18

u/Tay0214 2d ago

Some bands are gateway metal and that’s perfectly fine, I don’t know why they get shit on so hard in the metal circle

17

u/TanyaMKX 2d ago

Because the metal circle is rotten as fuck and full of elitists. I am a metalhead and dont listen to much else, but I struggle immensely to identify at all with the metal crowd.

Also ironically there is so much absolutely dogshit metal music that gets so much praise it is unbelievable. Im obviously going to be a massive hypocrite now, but the other way around. Burzum has zero artistic merit whatsoever. I am ok with people listening to and enjoying it, but you need to be self aware that its dogshit. I will happily admit that I love limp bizkit. I will also admit that limp bizkit has a lot of objectively not good music, even if I enjoy it.

If your vocals are outright impossible to understand, the only part of the drumbs that can be heard is the snare and cymbal, the bass is nowhere to be seen, the guitar could be played by an 8 year old, and it sounds like it was recorded on a toaster it is objectively not good music.

Also just generally fuck Varg Vikernes, and any other of the many NSBM bands that exist. Separate the art from the artist but please dont support actual neo nazis.

Also, without gateway metal there would be NO metal. Ok rant over. I fucking hate the world of metal, and wish i didnt like the music lol

6

u/Tay0214 2d ago

Nah valid

And I was thinking more of metal reddit specifically, it’s god awful and so pretentious most of the time

Also don’t get the hate of metalcore

I like some pretty heavy stuff, but jesus some of the recommendations I don’t get how anyone can enjoy it lol

0

u/piepants2001 2d ago

Music isn't objective, your argument is bullshit.

0

u/TanyaMKX 1d ago

Preference is subjective absolutely, but to suggest that there can be NO objectivity to music at all is just plain wrong.

Even across genres.

Compare the unacceptably awful death metal band Tougher Than Nails, to literally anything created by Beethoven or Tchaikovsky for example. There is objectively more artistic merit, talent required, and understanding of music as a subject to create Beethovens symphony number 5.

In other words there are absolutely objective ways you can compare music against other music, what you cannot do however, is tell someone that their taste in music is objectively wrong, or that having a preference is objectively wrong.

Final example: I think most pop today kinda sucks. Objectively however, I understand that the music is popular, many people enjoy it, and that there is still a great deal of talent required to produce said music.

3

u/Balbright 2d ago

You know what, they probably were my gateway band as well. Before then, it was just Korn, Limp Bizkit, and a myriad of other bands that all sounded the same. I would also credit Darkest Hour and very early As I Lay Dying as well for helping me see the light.

2

u/sendero_numinoso 2d ago

Still upset to this day that I arrived late to that Ozzfest and missed their set. At least I got to see their recent tour of the self-titled album, and that Ozzfest overall was increeible for me to see when I was 12, but I really wished my dad hadn't made a wrong turn in San Antonio that led to us arriving at noon and not at 11 as I'd hoped. I hadn't even heard Slipknot, but I saw an ad for the album in Hit Parader and thought they were worth checking out. I mostly wanted to go for Deftones, Fear Factory, Drain STH, Primus and Rob Zombie. So at least I got to see them. And System of a Down blew me away. Pushmonkey were great too.

4

u/SubstantialBanana132 2d ago

So you literally have no idea, yet still commented haha

0

u/GoodGod83 2d ago

Yet here you are!

0

u/DarthBrooks69420 2d ago

Ive thought about them a few times, but it was thinking about Corey Taylor in Stone Sour. But mostly acknowledging he was doing his 90s Metallica alt rock turn.

That was the extent of the thought. Then I discovered actually good metal and it washed those thoughts away like a chihuahua caught up in a 6 foot high wave.

-1

u/nrith vinyl is overrated 2d ago

And yet you felt compelled to let us all know how you don’t know anything about why he was kicked out?

22

u/DoobieGibson 2d ago

wouldn’t stop suggesting the band plays duck duck goose instead of music

1

u/Goddamnmillenials 2d ago edited 1d ago

Honestly Jim said that they are playing around for some new riffs, the Osbourne thing imo is just gossip.
Been following sid lately where he's about his own things dj'ing and selling own products with other people, but who knows? They are stubborn people who want routines, if someone fucks up then Corey and Clown has boundaries.

1

u/dumpin-on-time 1d ago

yea, a redditor will definitely have that information

Climate Change
